I guess I came to the right time for a free drink!
Lets sit down and enjoy!November 29, 2010 at 5:27 pm #13643Problems in the vote GF:
Michael
Due to members giving passwords to non Fellowship members, resulting in 5 votes being made by NON- FELLOWSHIP members I have decided to VOID this round completely.
It saddens me.
I will run a short vote again of the top ideas. I apologise for those members who did vote fairly. The password will also be changed.
PLEASE NEVER ALLOW THE PASSWORD TO BE GIVEN TO ANYONE.
Note: I do not know who they voted for, in case you wondered, I just know they voted, where they are in the world (big brother is watching you), and that they are not Mithril customers, let alone Fellowship members.November 29, 2010 at 6:11 pm #13645So basically, if you read ALL of Michael’s posts, some FG member “at a party” helped five of their friends open user accounts with mithril, then gave them the password, then allowed them to vote using their computer. In other words: IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MEMBER CHEATED!!!! I have emailed Michael to tell us who that person was. I certainly would like to hear an explanation from them, wouldn’t the rest of you? And I don’t think any amount of scrumpy can excuse the fact that they didn’t report the transgretion to Mithril, but allowed the vote to go forward until Michael discovered it. This does not sound like an “honest” mistake!
Am I the one who is mistaken? Are there facts I don’t know about? Please let the FG member speak up. I am not looking for a witch hunt. But hopefully everyone here agrees that we must have figures that won the vote fairly. Otherwise why bother at all?
November 29, 2010 at 6:24 pm #13650…. I know that I’m not this member or few of them who cheated but I know that I have opportunity to support and promote again my suggestion Thorin III Stonehelm ๐ but there are lot’s of guys who love nameless things and creatures so voting will be interesting again…
November 29, 2010 at 7:00 pm #13655well Michael said they were 5, but could only find 2 among this “party of friends” he still does not know who are the other three ones
I don’t have a damn idea about who all of these might be, but I doubt knowing the identity could change anything , I just hope it is not a member of MMP as it could be a very bad for us
If they are no mithril customers, that could also mean there is a leak, and a break in the security of the official board..
November 29, 2010 at 7:42 pm #13657These are strange days indeed. Some fellows try to help the company to survive while other only see their own interrest…who are these orcs, I wonder…They for sure would taste my hobbit’s anger !:mad:
By the way Master Barliman, I will have the meal you proposed, but behind the bar please as I am waiting for another hobbit gardener friend.
November 29, 2010 at 7:46 pm #13658Well I hope whoever this was can look at themselves in the mirror and feel proud !
I’ve always thought of the GF and off-shoots such as MMP as a fairly unique ‘family’ of collectors who no matter if their suggestion wins or loses take the vinal vote in good spirit and do not feel the need to cheat to win the prize.
We all like to see our suggestion make it, but not at any price. Let’s hope it is a one-off happening.
A sad day for the GF to see this happen, and I was quite happy today as Mithril kindly honoured my order that didn’t go through properly on the 10.10.10.
November 29, 2010 at 8:07 pm #13660Cheating in a GF vote is, frankly, rather pathetic, and whoever did it is in severe need of an injection of morality and perspective into their sad existence. Really. I’ve often wondered what preventative measures were in place to protect the GF forum from this kind of interference, and now my question is answered. None! I guess that on that basis it’s only surprising that some little weasel hasn’t tried it before. Or perhaps they did, and Michael just din’t pick it up…
November 29, 2010 at 8:14 pm #13661I want all of you to know that I suggested Michael we compared IP addresses from the official forum and MMP forum, to see if there is a leak from our part , as a sign of trust and confidence… I may be supporter to having more mithril supporters, but breakign GF codes is really not the solution for that….
Besides, as administrator, and only for a poll, no matter the importance of the poll… Michael could not trace the person back to their home, he can technically do it (as I can), but that would be illegal to track down persons with their IPs unless there is a crime behind it, and only the Police can take that in charge in the end…
November 29, 2010 at 8:51 pm #13662…. I was thinking that GF is just some kind of pleasure…. not hard competition with possibility of cheating…. it is just a hobby game…. and yes I also think that it is pathetic….
And I see that my friend forrest warden is already gone… next time we would share a little gossip !
November 29, 2010 at 8:59 pm #13663Gildor, you are right about tracking the IP address, which I suggested to Michael in my email earlier. It is not illegal for Mithril to track the IP address; it is their right to make sure of such things for their business. Indeed, if they give private information found on that computer, or personal information such as addresses, it would be illegal–I am not suggesting that. But they have a right to do business with who they want, and can expel the offender(s) from the FG membership.
November 29, 2010 at 9:13 pm #13664I am here master gardener, I forgot again to take off my ring. sorry.
November 29, 2010 at 9:29 pm #13665Hi Jason,
I am currently working on pictures for you. It will take some time to transit I guess…November 29, 2010 at 10:06 pm #13667Yes, Master Milo, you are here, still. And you should take your presence to delete some PM`s . Itยดs all full !!! ๐
And by the way you can check your private email . . .November 29, 2010 at 10:36 pm #13668Hello to you too Master Hobbit! No hurry!
November 30, 2010 at 7:54 am #13677And now, it’s time for me to temporarily bid you all a fond adieu – I’m off to sunnier climes for a little over two weeks to look for some of these exotic drinks that certain regulars keep requesting. Don’t know if I’ll find any, and even if I do I may drink them rather than bring them back. But anyway, Nob is in charge of the stable until I return and Master Tree is in charge of the bar (Nob can’t reach the top of the bar, but an Ent can).
I hope you all behave, and I don’t want to hear any tittle-tattle about squabbling when I get back!
November 30, 2010 at 8:18 am #13678I wish you a save and relaxing journey Master Barliman!
November 30, 2010 at 8:46 am #13680Bonnes vacances Barli !
November 30, 2010 at 10:37 am #13684Now look at that…..
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/8173071/race-row-erupts-over-hobbit-castingthe hobbit movie and race-row….
November 30, 2010 at 12:19 pm #13687now some here may call me racist, but I can’t manage to imagine a dark skinned hobbit….the picture of the woman who in this article is completly fine for me, but dark skin is not the image I have for Hobbits… there are some theories about Hobbits origins, pretending they may have been a sub-race of the Edain of the First Age…. those were caucasian. Besides, some genetical explanation about skin color is usually related to the climat and geography, dark skinned would come from the south, in arid countries… Hobbits are from the north west of Endor, no human ethnies here are dark skinned….
