Huoommm … that was meant as a compliment … rhuooommm … what about a wee dram? before I have to do this Christmas-thing-standing-around-in-some-corner-not-being-allowed-to-neither-move-nor-speak … huomm … alas, being treated and misused with them shiny, wobbely things you use to put on me branches, twigs … ah, I think you know what I mean … huoomm …
Oh, by the by, no riddle this year … it’s too late …. hupom <--- p=o ... sorry ...December 5, 2010 at 8:06 pm #13803No riddle? – what is the world coming to? And I knew it was intended as a compliment, Master Tree, and it’s much appreciated. Now, go and stand in the corner so that Nob and Bob can cover you in tinsel, lights, chocoloate decorations, fake snow, fairy-lights, beads, bangles, baubles and bits.
December 5, 2010 at 8:36 pm #13804we’ll figure out some other events next year master tree , there are too many things at work lately , riddles can wait
December 5, 2010 at 9:01 pm #13805And then, there three.
Or four, depending.
Yes, I’ve been painting up all my half painted Prince August CH figures. They represent several years of buying the things, half painting them and then going right back to the far better Mithrils. But I thought they’d be cool for a Dungeons and Dragons game. The results aren’t amazing. Lots of the figures are weirdly sculpted with very broad details. They don’t like much of the undercoat I’ve used. Painting onto older paint is never that useful.
I also lost my CH Enchantress figure in the move, which is hardly the end of the world, but it bugs me nonetheless. She may be in my worst packed minis box, but far as I am concerned if she doesn’t turn up today, she’s not here. A mild pity, one which tugs at my little collector’s heart. Though really, I want to finish up these PA fantasy figures and go back to Mithrils for a while. I’ll do the hordes of PA orcs and so on in little batches of six, afterwards. I am also going to order the Armoured Cleric from the PA site (even though I just really need one of the poses, not all three) and paint him along with the Female Warrior, the Druid, and the Celtic Warrior over Christmas.
But beyond all that, I am looking forward to finishing up all the half painted guys this evening or tomorrow and move on.
Gavin
December 5, 2010 at 10:51 pm #13806mmhh and no idea on what the CH11 is?
December 6, 2010 at 9:18 am #13807Not a clue.
And, I had to finally give up on my CH 22. Two paint jobs, then a conversion attempt, and the creeping feeling that she would never be anything other than a silly figure. Her arm had been damaged in a fall. I tried some other ideas this evening, just to finish her up, but it was not to be. She was eventually removed from her base and sent to the bag of waste metal to be melted down.
Consider it akin to a viking funeral. That she is giving her form to give form to other creatures (well, Orcs, maybe). Her fate has inspired a series of D+D encounters, so that’s alright (going to use the spare Elf slave from a Mirumor and Carangil set as the ill fated thief, who has finally been apprehended to represent the thief formally known as CH 22).
December 6, 2010 at 11:44 am #13808That there will be no riddle this time was a bit predictable, wasn´t it.
There are lots of things to do, and the abilities are limited, also for a Tree !A nice cup of tea would fill my heart with joy, Master Barliman.
December 6, 2010 at 12:44 pm #13809well I think you could do a wonderful… strange and “adult” vignette if you make a vignette out of [mith]M99[/mith] victim, Carangil from [mith]M324[/mith], some of the [mith]PM1[/mith] and [mith]PM2[/mith] and the NPC1 (dragon victims) from PA figurines now what male could be in the middle of this scene?
two bad Shaaranon and Achmiri are in 54mm
December 6, 2010 at 12:57 pm #13810ME! :lol::lol::lol:
December 6, 2010 at 6:03 pm #13816but please go on
make the conversion and the diorama altogether
I’m sure some photoshop artist will be able to put you in the middle of this “harem”
December 6, 2010 at 9:14 pm #13820Guardian of this “Harem” could be M318 Dunland Girl Warrior
…. there are many of nice 32 mm ladies and other sorts of females in M range…. for one big ladies diorama…. and we would soon see Northman lady… isn’t it… ?
December 7, 2010 at 10:30 am #13833Master Gildor, did you think of something like this, just with Mithril?
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/6_harem1.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/6_harem1.jpg[/imgz][imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/6_harem2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/6_harem2.jpg[/imgz]Yes, I guess I can do that!
December 7, 2010 at 10:32 am #13834Not Tolkien related but still, this is a funny scene.
😆
December 7, 2010 at 10:43 am #138351001 night!
December 7, 2010 at 2:25 pm #13843After putting all those girls in place, I need something strong Master Barliman!
Ah, yes, with some green in it… pleaseDecember 7, 2010 at 2:34 pm #13845Huooommm … very nice ideas around here in the past … huom … so, before I’ll have to stay quiet in here for a while I just want to tell that today I received the “White Council”-vignette … huommm … it’s an absolutely amazing and heavy piece … hom … seems to be a real challenge for all the skilled painters around here … huoommm … which I am not (and I also don’t have the time for it – or have you ever seen a Christmas tree painting tiny metal things?) … huoom …
I also found a small voucher in the parcel, saying “Merry Christmas” at the front … huoomm … a very nice gesture from the Company, I think … rhuoommm … homDecember 7, 2010 at 2:39 pm #13848Ah- Master Michael twittered this somewhere . . . So you are one of the lucky Christmas-card-owners . . . I like that!
PS: so, one of that flying thingies was able to reach Germany . . . there is hope . . .
December 7, 2010 at 3:02 pm #13870Master Barliman, my pewter tankard is empty. Please, some good ale from the shire today.
Cheers everyone !December 7, 2010 at 3:12 pm #13874I need a strong drink myself, in order to calm down … The insurance weasels have declined to pay for the “incidentals” of my cancelled holiday (car parking, cattery bill, etc) on the grounds that they only pay such compensation on delayed or cancelled return flights, not outward flights. Can anyone understand that?
I’ve never yet encountered an insurance company that honours the concept of “insurace”. Perhaps I should send them a dictionary so that they can look it up.
(Retires into a corner muttering amd blaspheming…)
December 7, 2010 at 3:18 pm #13876I do not like any insurance and I do not like any goverment either!
Both are so full of s..t it is not even funny anymore! -
