… next year… I will also take some time to paint and assemble some other figures from my stock… I have lot’s of 54 mm figures…vikings too… some medieval knights… some romans and indians and the special jewel – plane ME 262 in 1/48 scale full of photo ejected parts…. very valuable model…. I like bigger scale of figures… only mithril is in small scale in my collection.
And from tomorrow I’m going to paint “The White council” …. under the tree there was nothing this year only toys for my daughter. Other family money has spent on bigger car….
December 27, 2010 at 9:17 pm #14184I would like to see pictures of this viking longboat dear Master tree… I like vikings very much…

December 27, 2010 at 9:40 pm #14187huooommm … Master Barliman, until two or three weeks ago I was completeley unaware of that longship … rhuoommm … it’s a rarity by a company that once was called “Elastolin Hausser” … huom … I grew up with all those knights, Normans, etc. …. huoommhoom … as far as I know that ship was never put into mass production …. huoomm … maybe I can find a pic of that piece … rhuoomm …
December 27, 2010 at 10:01 pm #14188Huoomm … found them pics … no, Master Thingol, it’s not an Andrea-product … let’s see …

huoomm … see some of the details have to be repainted, not to mention the proper arrangement of the whipping … rhuoomm … then maybe I need 32 oarsmen of the ‘Laketown’ release … hooommm … then see if the corsairs fit to the 40mm-size … rhuoommm … hard work indeed …. huom … anyway I hope with this you understand what I was talking about … homtidommm
December 27, 2010 at 10:05 pm #14189Ah, the joys of being a parent, Master Thingol – all Mrs B and I have to worry about is the cat and Nob, which means (theoretically) that we get to spend all our money on ourselves. Which would be terrific if we ever had any. Ah, the joys of being a tax-payer.
December 27, 2010 at 10:07 pm #14190I too grew up with Elastolin, Master Tree, but in my case Romans and Gauls (at least, I think they were Gauls, but Elastolin being a German company, I suspect now that they were supposed to be German tribesmen). Could never buy many, though, because of the serious money they cost.
But that’s one very nice longship! I wonder how much it would have been if they’d sold it?
December 27, 2010 at 10:15 pm #14191Huoommm … who knows? … they never did, as far as I know …. rhuoomm … yes, quite costly they were in the days when they were available in shops … alas, even a single figure was too much expensive for me …. huoommm …
yes, those Romans and Gauls I have, too … at least most of them … huoomm … and the siege-equipment … huomm … not to forget Frundsberg’s Landsknechte and the artillery …. huoomm..
sorry now this is completely out of a Mithril-topic …. rhuoommm ….December 27, 2010 at 11:57 pm #14194Ho ho- what a amazing piece that is. Reminds me on the “Oseberg-ship” which I assembled when I was a teen.
Really beautiful, Master Tree.Should it be better post at the art gallery-section . . . ?
Thingol, this Roman ship from Andrea is really marvellous!
December 28, 2010 at 4:20 am #14195Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I’ve been away from internet access too long to give my wishes in a timely fashion.
December 28, 2010 at 7:16 am #14197All you need to do to compensate is to buy everyone a drink – Nob, three dozen jugs of scrumpy!
December 28, 2010 at 1:58 pm #14198Back to something Tolkien….
Have a look please. It’s worth it!

Ouuuuhhh I like it… I like it so much… dear Master Ent is it possible to send me some pictures in high resolution on my e-mail… so I could enjoy in this beautiful model. Where is possible to find or buy this…. thanks for this pictures dear friend… after seeing this I will change my plans about painting figures. After “The white council” on workbench would be 3 viking warriors
I like this master Caster but others who did not facbook members cannot see this…
December 28, 2010 at 7:22 pm #14200Master Ent, I don’t know if you can buy only the crew, but they look like what you need (however Old Glory miniatures are far from Mithil’s regarding quality).
December 28, 2010 at 9:53 pm #14201Very far indeed…
December 29, 2010 at 3:55 pm #14212Are there any other Facebook members who have not checked out our Fans of Mithril Miniatures page yet?
December 29, 2010 at 4:37 pm #14214Huoommm … I’m not very much used to that facebooky-thing … huom … though I’ve heard of it … rhuoomm … is it a book with a face, or rather a face in a book ? … huoommm … ?
December 29, 2010 at 11:24 pm #14221Master Barliman, I need a break. After all that painting-accross-Christmas.
Still no idea what to do with that round base of that Council. Maybe one of your special very strong drink can give my imagination a strong shove forward . . .(PS: “shove it” is the title of the first solo album of that Queen-drummer, err- what was his name . . . ? )
December 30, 2010 at 6:24 am #14224I agree, Master Tree . . . about facebook. I know that they provide some of your personal information to the companies that pay them for advertising and other services. I deleted my account (they tried to get me to just deactivate it, but that still allows facebook to monitor your account activity, even if you don’t . . . such as friends who comment on your account, or leave pictures of you drinking scrumpy).
We need to keep as much of our privacy as possible . . . choosing what we share with others, not being spied on by corporations.
December 30, 2010 at 7:46 am #14225Huoommm … that’s what I always suspected, Master Twrich … rhuoommm … and maybe that’s why it takes a long time for trees to trust in some newborne-things as those “facy-bookies” you mentioned … huoommm … might also mean “face-my-bookies-via-cookies” …. rhuomm … but I’m not sure … rhuoommm … anyway, it won’t hurt me nor my bark … rhuoommmm … and being spied on without letting me know – but that is what spies do, isn’t it? – is something I really dislike very much …. huoomm … just remember that M118 … huoomm … no, I wasn’t referring to Bill Ferny …. huomm …
December 30, 2010 at 8:02 am #14226I don’t use Twaddle, Witter or any of these other intrusive computer sites either. I have too much to do every day without that sort of thing. I know some of my regulars have accounts, and seemingly enjoy being involved, but it’s not for me. I don’t even have ome of those mobile phone thingies (I’m probably the last person on the planet without one).
