With all these babies around I think we may have to open a creche bar….er, sorry, room, so that our regular clientele don’t have to be distracted from serious drinking. The only question, though, is who to put in charge. No, certainly not Nob – the wargskin rugs would take more care of infants than he would.

Is a nappie the European term for diaper?

As a man, my strategy is to be a complete dolt and buffoon when it comes to changing and bathing Braden. I’ll drop things and make messes. Once I display my incompetence, Lily will hopefully not ask for too much help!

Yes indeed, Man of the West, “nappy” (plural “nappies”) is indeed the Westron word for that bit of cloth that you (well, someone other than you maybe) wrap round a baby’s business end. Used to be environmentally friendly things that you washed and used again, but has now been replaced by environmentally UNfriendly disposable things that are used just once and then thrown away to clog the planet with yet more garbage.

Sad, but true! I’ve known a FEW people who go the cloth diaper route – using a paid diaper service that picks up dirty diapers and drops off clean ones, but I’ll bet that is less than 1% of parents. (Sorry to say, we’ll be part of the 99%)!

There is much to be fixed in this world. Like – why are some people starving while others enjoy a glut of food?

…or a glut of alcohol. But I’ve always taken the view that if we all made a small contribution to environmental issues it would improve everything in the long run. The planet can only cope with a limited amount of garbage – not to mention the energy and resources required to manufacture all those disposables.

There is certainly much that needs to be fixed in the world. But when are we ever going to start? – Before it’s too late, I hope, though we’re already teetering dangeroulsy close to that moment.

well i’m proud to count myself among the 1%… my wife and I use cloth diapers (not the very old ones i mean modern ones with pressure buttons and appropriate shape which require cleaning indeed but lot easer than during our great-grandmas time…

we SOMETIMES we uses throwable diapers when we are travelling indeed, but not at home…. and it’s been so for nearly two years now
