i am currently working on sitemaps to make robots from google and others recognize my site a bit better.
So far “many mithril pages” research on google directly points here, that’s a good thing… alas, concerning “mithril figurines” research, I only am at the end of the second page
the best way to gain ranks on the search engine is to have my site mentionned on other websites (in their links sections)
so if any of you has mithril websites, or know of people who owns mithril related websites, that could help if my website was added to their link section. Thanks in advance
August 18, 2008 at 2:55 am #2901Here here! Great stuff Gildor. I’ve got an old website somewhere that I haven’t updated since August 2004, but if you think it’d help, it has a links section I can update, so it will be done!
August 18, 2008 at 5:46 am #2903The only website in the Pony is in the cellar, I’m afraid, courtesy of the spiders Nob has failed to evict.
On a more serious note, I know some of my patrons are MERP or ex-MERP enthusiasts, so it wouldn’t be out of place to mention that I’ve just seen an obituary in Amon Hen (one of the publications of te Tolkien Society, for those of you who aren’t members) for the one and only Gary Gygax, the grand old man – indeed, the creator – of Middle-earth roleplaying. He passed away a few months ago, at the age of 69. I still remember my original copy of Dungeons & Dragons turning up in the post (3 booklets in a box, all a bit amateur-looking!) back in the day. I think I still have it somewhere. I never did use it, though – I was looking for LOTR wargame rules at the time, and they didn’t yet exist.
August 19, 2008 at 2:39 am #2909Indeed, it was sad to hear of his passing. The economist gave him what sounded like a pretty good obituary…

August 19, 2008 at 4:09 am #2910Thanks for the link Master of Photos!
I like your title and your work shows it’s earned!August 20, 2008 at 3:26 am #2912I’m not sure how that happened! I’ve just finished painting my first Mithril in about two years, so will see if I can take a shot of it in the next couple of days and prove my title wrong .

August 20, 2008 at 1:53 pm #2916Blimey, I see from the latest Mithril newsletter that Ingold is up and running already! – and exactly as I wanted him! The Man must be (a) catching up with his backlog at speed, and (b) reading my mind (or at least my Fellowship posts). I like King Brand too. Two excellent figures that I shall order forthwith (I’m falling somewhat behind with my obligatory quota of Fellowship purchases, and these will help me catch up for a moderate outlay).
August 20, 2008 at 2:34 pm #2918Huuooommmrhuooommm …. I seem to have the same problems as others here before … rhuom … I received the latest newsletter too, but I’m not able to open any pics announced there … huom … strange that is …
August 20, 2008 at 7:39 pm #2919The pictures look great, King Brand looks fantastic and Ingold as well (I agree Barli – he got that one out quick), BUT, and I hope it is the angle of the photograph that is causing the illusion, but Ingold’s outstretched hand and torch seem rather large.
I can’t see Chris having got it wrong so hopefully it is the camera angle and the foreshortening effect (I think that is the right word). Other than that another two fine figures.

August 21, 2008 at 4:29 pm #2926Huuoommm …. another matter is that I’m in need of help …. rhuoommm … somehow it occurred that my tiny sheet of paper on which I kept record about the still-to-come GF-releases went lost … rhuoooommmm …. somewhere …. hom … tiny it was indeed …. hom … so, ahem, is there anybody who remembers the future? … some Witch-king in his true form and Theodred should be next, as far as I can recall … huooommmm …. but what about the other metal pieces that were chosen …. huommm … no, Master Barliman, don’t try to remember as your memory … well, you know …. but maybe someone else …
August 21, 2008 at 7:07 pm #2927check my listing of all GF references in the other topic Theobald, I wrote down all the GF figurines with the winners and months and references, those already released, and those yet to be released
here is the direct link :
http://mmp.faerylands.eu/viewtopic.php?id=120August 22, 2008 at 6:01 am #2933Ah, that Elf is the cat’s whiskers, isn’t he? Everything exactly where we need to find it. Excellent. And what’s all that about my memory, Master Tree? Anyone would think I forgot things.
On the subject of GF figures, this month’s round one voting is proving to be the usual scatter-gun affair. Only Thomas the Troll has a clear lead, and it’s impossible as yet to predict who’ll join him in round two.
August 22, 2008 at 1:38 pm #2940Huooommmmm …. thank you Master Gildor …. I should have remembered that …. rhuoommm … I just did not know where to put that ‘King Brand’ … hom.
As for you, Master Barliman, there was no criticism implied … huom … none at all, as we all know you’re a worthy man … huomrhuoomm … I just didn’t want you being distracted too much from your busy job around here …. hom.
And as for tiny Thomas I would like to remind you that voting has not ended so far … huom … so one shouldn’t haste with predictions of any kind, methinks …. hom.August 22, 2008 at 2:03 pm #2942I think that it would be hard for Thomas the Troll NOT to be in the second round of voting, being so far ahead at the moment.
August 22, 2008 at 3:11 pm #2945I wouldn’t mind if Tom the Troll won, but my Eomer started off good.
On a side note, has everyone seen how many new people are signing up to this website in the last month.
August 22, 2008 at 3:54 pm #2946The list is gradually getting longer, certainly, but it still has some way to go before it reaches the “old” MMP total. I hope the newcomers will make themselves known soon – a few fresh faces in the bar will be welcome. But I should warn anyone coming in by the main door NOT to wipe their feet on the wargskin rugs if they still want to have feet afterwards – they’ve been a bit frisky lately.
August 22, 2008 at 5:09 pm #2947Huoommm … though a few fresh faces in the bar will be welcomed by me too that could mean that Master Barliman then would have to reconsider the size and capability of his premises methinks … huom.
Alas … I did forget to take care of those doormats … rhuoommm … sorry … -
