I suppose this is 104 degrees of Farenheit ( there is a song by Miss Jazz Lee Alston . . . )
Well, where I live it was 38 degrees of celsius today. That means totally too hot for oil colours . . .June 28, 2011 at 10:35 pm #18268it’s summer, yeah!
June 29, 2011 at 7:14 am #18269Here in Vancouver its a weird mix of humid, muggy weather…that isn’t terribly warm. There was a high of 21C today (call it 70F) but the result was dank, sleepy, sweaty and exhausting.
It’s been threatening rain for a few days now. Hasn’t quite happened.
June 29, 2011 at 7:28 am #18270Thunderstorms at times yesterday, but otherwise sultry, generally overcast and rainy. Then it was cold enough laast night to form condensation on every window in the Pony! But two days ago it was the hottest day of the year thus far, and this morning there’s a bright blue sky again. Pretty weird weather all round.
June 29, 2011 at 7:52 am #18271here in A Corunna – Spain 18º celsius right now – I try the beach this morning, I hope
June 29, 2011 at 8:51 am #18272Still no excessive hot given the season where we are. Yesterday, 37 º C maximum (right now, 21.2 º C). In Granada, there are many differences between night and day ….. And there is still plenty of snow in the mountains! …..

June 29, 2011 at 12:18 pm #1827698 degrees F.
June 29, 2011 at 12:53 pm #18277Huoomm … by now getting down from 36°C to 28°C in the Osning forest area at the moment because of a very welcomed thunderstorm, which means I do not have to water the plants today … rhuoommm
June 29, 2011 at 12:54 pm #18278huoommm … sorry, Osning is the old name for the Teutoburger Forest, if you don’t know .. huom
June 29, 2011 at 12:59 pm #18279I didn’t.
June 29, 2011 at 4:46 pm #18281Huoommm … but you know what happened to Quintilius Varus and his legions when he tried to retreat westwards through that area … huoommm … I know that history tells a different tale, but mind that Ents are living there … rhuoommm
huoommm … The Man sculpted marvellous figures and small dioramas about that, by the by … rhuoommm … but I’m afraid he also forgot about them trees … rhuoommm … I don’t mind, as it’s the free choice of an artist … huoommmJune 29, 2011 at 4:56 pm #18282Theobald wrote:huoommm … sorry, Osning is the old name for the Teutoburger Forest, if you don’t know .. huomTalking of which Master Tree – do you have photographs of this forest please? I have a few TW TM miniatures to paint up and some scenic reference material would be of enormous help, and yes, the Man’s sculpting on the figures is outstanding as is the casting quality
June 29, 2011 at 4:58 pm #18283Bye the way, congratulations Barli I was hoping this suggestion would win – a good job I suggested Merry and the Ruffian, lol.
As it is the Bar-keep’s victory this month can we expect a Happy Hour and a ‘lock in’ ?
June 29, 2011 at 5:58 pm #18288I was hoping it would win too! But to have a lock-in we’d need a key…Have you ever known this place to be locked?
June 29, 2011 at 7:09 pm #18291Huuoommm …. Master Ddaines, as for pics of and from the Teutoburger Forest … well, I hope you know that it’s quite a large mountainy-foresty-range with many different kind of trees, lots of small lakes, some …. alas … I’ll try to find my wide-angle-thing for that camera-piece … 😆
anyway, I’ll try to get somethings for you, Master Ddaines … rhuoommmm … though I dunno what exactly you need … huoommm …June 29, 2011 at 7:16 pm #18292Rhuuoommm … ahh, yes, our barkeep has won again, meseems … huoomm … congratulations … huom … kept me vote up to the last moment just to confirm that … gruuoommm … this time I simply was convinced that the suggestion was the only one clearly being based on those Tolkien-writings … huoom .. as far as I know … hooooooommmm …
err, huommm … what now, Master Barliman? …… huoommm?
June 29, 2011 at 7:22 pm #18293Now you get a drink!

Some of the images I have Googled look a bit ‘bland’.
