Huuoommm …. nothing much around here meseems …. huoomm … I might take the time to undust those doormats again … huommm … no, before that I will have to fill that bowl with some liquid … rhuoomm … oh, there are those tabs Master Barliman spoke of …. rhuoomm … strange it is that people forget to take home what they payed coiny things for …. hommmm …
…… then there’s that half-rotten wall over there … maybe a picture will do covering those stained parts of …. huoommm …. alas, even the plaster is giving in or out … huoommm … I will fix it later … huoommm …. of course you can have a light, Man in the Dark, though this now has turned out to be a non-smoking business inside here … rhuoommm … just to let you know …October 5, 2008 at 4:38 pm #3365Alas, the problem is that there is no fresh news, and The Man didn’t live up to his promise to tell me more about the M range he’s been working on – which means no fresh rumours either…unless you know better, Master Tree?
October 5, 2008 at 9:54 pm #3367Huoommmm … no, sorry I don’t know better …. rhuoomm , I just can remember some ideas the Man had …. rhuoommm … one of that was that some dwarvish bodyguards were thought of being offered last month … ahem … if time permits … rhuoomm … but as what you call September has passed by now … you know what I mean …. huoommm … sorry, I hope I didn’t leave a mess in your premises … I just tried to be helpful …. rhuoommm … not riddleing (or however that word might be spelled) this time, Master Barliman? … hom
October 6, 2008 at 5:28 am #3370People have riddled in this establishment before, when they’ve imbibed a little too much, but I always use Nob to mop up afterwards.

October 6, 2008 at 8:17 pm #3377Nob doesn’t think so.
October 6, 2008 at 9:17 pm #3378Just as well he is a pot-wash and not a Fuller!
October 7, 2008 at 6:03 am #3380Depends on the kind of pot you mean.
October 7, 2008 at 2:27 pm #3382It seems the Witchking in true form and Prince Theodred are ready to take their leave of Macroom.
October 7, 2008 at 2:44 pm #3384Ah, that is good news. But that business of Theodred falling ‘in the defence of Osgiliath’ is an unfortunate copy-writing blunder for a company that makes a living from the sale of Tolkien products!
October 7, 2008 at 3:09 pm #3385Yes, I too have seen the error . Maybe we should send an email to Michael …………
October 7, 2008 at 4:03 pm #3386Oh, and I was so shocked about reading this, that I doubted I have read the books intensively enough, as I did not remember Theodred dying in Osgiliath. I thought he died defending the Fords of Isen- one can easily think, that Saruman intended to kill him as Theodred was one of Sarumans biggest foes in Rohan beside Eomer. The latter survived tzhe rise of Saruman, Theodred did not.
Such faults should not happen on the Mithril homepages.
Another question: has anyone of you got a newsletter concerning the next suggestion round? I have not until now.
NAMARIE
estelOctober 7, 2008 at 5:42 pm #3387Yes, an unfortunate gaff. Once, long ago, the man himself mentioned to me that he was one of the proud and few who’d even read LOTR in Macroom. Hopefully that has changed by now!
October 7, 2008 at 5:42 pm #3388No news-letter, it was just there! Perhaps Michael has been sacked for killing Theodred in the wrong location, lol
October 7, 2008 at 6:15 pm #3390I imagine you’ve all received your newsletters by now – mine arrived late this afternoon. Not that there’s actually much news in it…if you except the revelation (by reading between the lines) that Theodred was seemingly moonlighting in the South while his otherwise unacknowledged twin brother was being diced at the Fords of Isen.
October 8, 2008 at 12:58 pm #3391I’m afraid having two of the trolls wrestling would require renaming and ideally, adding a stick to the current troll. William is made, but he is one of the wrestlers according to the scene in the book. Tom would be poking Bill and Bert with a stick (or at least have a stick in his hands). If the stand alone one was given a stick and renamed Tom, then the other two could be posed as wrestling. This would probably require permission from Dave, suggester of William, and Tom, suggester of Tom ().
If someone would like to give it a go, by all means…
October 8, 2008 at 5:49 pm #3395Permission Granted!
October 10, 2008 at 1:32 am #3396Wow! Have I missed a lot of gossip? (Shaking the dust off of my shoes and sitting down) How is everyone here in the famous Pony?
October 10, 2008 at 5:48 am #3397Getting on famously! But very little gossip, alas. Nob and the wargskin rugs have gone into hibernation, but that’s about it.
October 15, 2008 at 5:08 am #3414A voice from a ranger in one of the darker corner’s says: “After a long journey in the Wilderness, I am glad to find the Pony in good company. I had hard and far travels, and admit that I was lost for a few days; but with the help of some friends, I found my way. Well Master Barliman, an ale please, and a round for all! What Nob? A no smoking area?”
