Huoomm … what about this incoherent confusion around here …. rhuooommm .. All I need is a bowl of that clear clean water … rhuoommm … of course I could spend some of that coiny things for that, Master Barliman … you should know … huom . … though it always depends on the currency of what you might regard as coiny-enough metal pieces … rhuoomm
so, just a bowl of clear-clean water, please, if you don’t mind …. rhuoomm …
yes, yes, yes … rumours have become less, meseems … huoom … such concern facts …
ahem, could you please top up that bowl, Master Barliman?Ney, Mistress Wendy, I will not take part in any painting-contest, as my painting-skills are poor and me time is too much limited … rhuoommm … unfortunately, so to say …. hom … I would rather more enjoy painting certain metal things than have to enjoy the pleasure to have to put other things first … rhuoommmm …. if you know what I mean …. huooommmrhuoommm.
October 21, 2008 at 8:56 pm #3463On another matter entirely, if I ever find this msLourena person – an Orc, I imagine, judging from his taste in “literature” – who keeps leaving obscene messages scrawled on the walls of the Pony, I shall kick his butt into next week. The rest of him may follow later when I can get Nob to sweep the bits into a neat pile.
October 22, 2008 at 7:41 am #3464Huoommm … right you are, Master Barliman …. huom … if I can be of any help in that matter let me know, please … hom
October 25, 2008 at 2:32 am #3484Hummm, awefully quite in here. Nob? Oh, there you are. I’ll take another.
October 25, 2008 at 5:48 am #3486The problem is it’s so dark in here that I can’t see the customers, they can’t see the bar, and I can’t see them helping themselves to drinks when I’m not looking.
I think, though, that the real problem is that there’s so little activity at the moment on the new releases front. Although Fellowship figures are beginning to materialise we’ve all known about them for months, there are no new rumours, and The Man hasn’t put up anything interesting on eBay or in his recent messages to his correspondents. Ergo, very little to talk about! There are also so many little rooms scattered about this establishment that some people spend most of their time in other places than the common room!
The till is nigh on empty/
October 25, 2008 at 8:58 am #3488Well, it’s early but a flagon of your finest Master Butterbur will not go amiss onn this chilly morning.
October 25, 2008 at 11:29 am #3489Huooommm … so three we are … huommm … Master Barliman often forgets about the Man in the Dark being present, meseems. … hom … or taking me as some kind of house plant … hom.
So, cheers Master Ddaines … just a nip I can afford as I’ve decided to go chasing rumours … huoomm … hom.October 25, 2008 at 11:46 am #3491Cheers, dear fellows. Back in the main room again. Any news about the mysterious new creations by the Man, the Phaeton, the Son of Helios?
October 25, 2008 at 12:42 pm #3492Rhuoommm … none, Master Protozeus … huoomm … none … oh by the by those creations as you liked to call it are not mysterious … huoommm … but who is the son of the sun? …
as for you Master Barliman, … huoommm … right you are … we should have a common room in the Prancing Pony where to meet first … huoomm … as in old days … so there’s no need to keep them smaller rooms scattered around your establishment tidy … rhuoomm … might save some time for a busy barkeep …. hom … alas … doing that you might even come across those hibernating rotten wargskins … rhuoommm …

But me – I am still uncertain what to expect next from his private line of master pieces …
October 25, 2008 at 3:35 pm #3494Rhuoommm … those which were announced for late September did not appear … rhuom … otherwise we would have been informed by The Man himself …. hom … I’m sure about this … so still there are two options he keeps … a further Pm or a second set of the dwarves …. huoomm … but as we know this is his way of handling matters as far as they’re not right in focus at his workbench… rhuoommmhom … I can accept that, as it keeps the customers in the Pony a bit busy or even keeping their interests afar from them liquids … rhuooommm … as for the regular M-releases no one talks about them (by now should have been finished) Easterling army … sorry, “army” is a word TE would not appreciate very much …. rhuoomm …. on the other hand I have to accept that The Man has been very busy for quite a while now … hom rhuoommm … having a look at the fascinating “Teutoburger Wald – vignettes and additional figures might give an idea of his business … I think …. rhuoommtodomhuom …
October 25, 2008 at 6:05 pm #3495I think another drink is in order, the Knights have now put their mail and helmets on and it was thirsty work, but I wish those damn horses would keep still so that I can finish them
October 26, 2008 at 10:44 am #3501Huooommm …. Master Ddaines, did you consider that after your “thirsty work” it might not be the horses’ turn to keep still …. huommm
October 26, 2008 at 4:48 pm #3503Besides, Master Daines, would you stand still if someone was trying to paint you?
October 27, 2008 at 5:31 pm #3505That could be the answer, now why didn’t I think of that, hic!
October 31, 2008 at 1:04 pm #3516Well I see the latest two MS figures are soon going to be available – 498 Dead Rider of Dunharrow and 499 Arnor Knight fighting Hillman King. Both look pretty good, but is it my imagination, or is the Hillman King a refugee from Braveheart? I assume the Arnor knight’s horse will present the usual problem of “Do I cut away the support for the horse’s front leg and run the risk of the figure sagging over time, or do I pretend he’s jumping over a Hobbit maypole…?”
I really must get round to ordering some of my Fellowship quota before the festive season saps my financial reserves and my will to live.
Congratulations to all those who supported Bert in the latest poll, incidentally (I wasn’t one of them!). At last we can move on to something other than trolls!
October 31, 2008 at 5:01 pm #3517Huooommmm … cutting away those supports of the horses has always been a problem … hom … I still face the problems with them first Rohirrim riders … huomm … trying to do the same with those Swan Knights it again seems to work … hom … but in the end (<- d!) only time can tell ... rhuoommm ... I will have a look at that what you call Braveheart-refugee ... hom ...
but not until I have finished that bowl of you-know-what, Master Barliman …. rhuuuuuuuom …November 1, 2008 at 11:44 am #3519Barliman wrote:Well I see the latest two MS figures are soon going to be available – 498 Dead Rider of Dunharrow and 499 Arnor Knight fighting Hillman King. And I was going to suggest a Troll Standard bearer this time!!!!!!!! 😆
No, I agree we have The Three Trolls now, and we can move on.
And while I’m in the bar I’ll be raising my mug to Bombadil aka Roland, who although he never suggested any of the Trolls as individuals (I think), did suggest them more than once as a Threesome, so Bombadil, we got you there in the end
November 1, 2008 at 3:07 pm #3520Huoommmm … cheers, Master Bombadil and may the west door of Moria may not fall upon you … rhuomm … huom … thanks for the toast, Master Ddaines … but by the by I have to state that trolls do not react to standards .. that’s why they have none … huooommmm
November 1, 2008 at 3:10 pm #3521Rhuoommmmhommm … and what about the squirrel? …. huoommm …
