Well, the two Knights of Dol Amroth I ordered and the Arnorian knight arrived today.
The Arnornian knight is Gorgeous, with his Numenorean helm, mail and rearing horse. Haven’t really gawked at the Knights of Dol Amroth yet, but by the looks of things, the Arnorian knight might be worth getting again to convert into a Swan Knight. (And vice versa – turn some Swan Knights into Arnorian roquain)

December 24, 2008 at 11:22 am #3962Huoooooooooommmmmm …. yes, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas …. homrhuomhom
December 24, 2008 at 11:47 am #3963Well, I’m girding up my loins ready for the rush of holiday trade, and hope to see some of you in here again before the New Year, but in the meantime Merry Christmas to all my patrons, and I hope that your Yuletide presents include at least one Mithril figure each!
December 27, 2008 at 11:36 pm #3973Ahem … rhuooommm … may I please, by now, try to get rid rid of that shiny and candelling things which surrounds me …. rhuoomm … sorry … but I kept to the instructions of Master Barliman …. rhuooomm .. “stand still” … he said … “hold on” he said … rhuoommm …. as nothing happened …. except me standing still, of course …. rhuoomm … I would rather be relieved from this …. rhuom …. hom …
alas … everybody had his fun of decorating me at his will in the old room …. rhuoommm …
so, why not? …. rhuoomm … I’m about to re-decorate myself by now ….. huooommmDecember 28, 2008 at 4:59 am #3974Sorry, you have to keep the decorations on until Twelfth Night. That’s the tradition. And after all, you’re an Ent. Who ever heard of an impatient Ent? I think you’re getting hasty as you get older!
December 28, 2008 at 10:46 am #3975Huooommmm …. sorry …. I just thought …. huoommm …. well, alright then, Master Barliman … of course …. Twelfth Night that is … huoomm … a very nice play, by the way …. huoommmm.
December 28, 2008 at 5:08 pm #3977Is it a world to hide virtues in? Twelfth Night Act I. Scene 3.
Well, we all know the answer here, don’t we? This last week of the year always seems like an extended holiday for many. I wonder what 2009 will bring us on the Mithril front?
December 28, 2008 at 5:31 pm #3978Hopefully lots.
December 28, 2008 at 5:52 pm #3979Rhuoommm … hard to answer your last question …. huoommmrhuoomm … but in act five, scene one, the clown sings … ahemmmm … mmm …
When that I was and a little tiny boy,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
For the rain it raineth every day.rhmmmm …hmmm
But when I came to man’s estate,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
‘Gainst knaves and thieves men shut their gate,
For the rain it raineth every day.ahemmm …
But when I came, alas! to wive,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
By swaggering could I never thrive,
For the rain it raineth every day.rhuooommmmm … then I still recall the next quatrains ….
But when I came upon my beds,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
With toss-pots still had drunken heads,
For the rain it raineth every day.rhuoomm … last one now … ahem … mmmm
A great while ago the world begun,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
But that’s all one, our play is done,
And we’ll strive to please you every day.Rhuoommmhuommmhom … but please, Master Kenakko don’t tell Master Barliman that I was singing …. huoommm … I’m not sure if he really would like to have a nicely decorated singing Christmas tree …. huoomm
December 28, 2008 at 5:53 pm #3980Rhhuoommm …. sorry … I didn’t know he was present … rhuooommm … shame on me
December 28, 2008 at 8:43 pm #3981Very nice, Master Tree. About the Twelfth Night, I mean.
And I for one enjoy the cheeriness your light-bedecked boughs provide this otherwise dim corner of the Pony.
December 28, 2008 at 9:23 pm #3982There’s nowt dim in the Pony except Nob. And it mightn’t seem so dark in that corner if you didn’t wreath yourself about with such a fug, Master Ranger. I don’t know what that stuff is on your pipe, but I still reckon it’s Nob’s shredded socks cut with powdered slurry from the yard.
And the rhyming was very nice, Master Tree. Very apt.
By the way, is anyone going to tell us what they got from the jovial fat fellow with the big sack?
December 29, 2008 at 4:55 pm #3984Well my friends the Knights of Dol Amroth (mounted) are now completed (99.9% anyway) and can be seen in Master Samwise’s Gallery.
I don’t think the scene needs too much explaining and this was what I had always imagined doing with these knights long before they were released so all has turned out well in the end. But by god am I glad I got them before the £ collapsed!!!!
Master Barliman, I take my hat off to all those who paint multi small scale figures – I hold you all in awe as my patience and enthusiasm has never been so sorely put to the test and on that note I’ll also take the lock of my gold chest and dip in for drinks all round!
Am I looking forward to the Easterlings? No, not now
December 29, 2008 at 5:00 pm #3985It’s probably just as well that they keep getting delayed then! I really do wonder when they’ll ever appear – or are we heading towards another unreleased ‘MS’ range? That’s a dreadful thought…
December 29, 2008 at 5:39 pm #3987huoommm … indeed …
as for your very welcome and kind offer, Master Ddaines, could you please explain to our barkeep that also a burning tree might be in need of some liquid? …. huoommm ….December 29, 2008 at 5:55 pm #3988Yes, drinks for all in the Pony please Barli. To help keep out the winter chill you know.
December 29, 2008 at 6:15 pm #3991Barliman wrote:By the way, is anyone going to tell us what they got from the jovial fat fellow with the big sack?Well, that jovial fellow just gives me permission to pick out what I’d like for myself and I ran across a site that had a good number of clearance (non Mithril) figures and other items for crazy cheap. So I bought four foot 54mm guys (all 14-15 cent. knights except for a Napoleon in Egypt), one mounted 54mm guy (all the figs are Seil and Pegaso), two packs of Pegaso heads, a pack of Roman camp and weapons parts (I have a specific project for this), and four colors of Andrea paint. The foot guys were between $10-15 and the mounted guy was around $30. So a lot of stuff for the money.
My Mithrils came: three Knights of Dol Amroth (Imrahil and two others, which I haven’t had time to even open yet), four Corsairs, and the Haradrian Chieftain.
I’m trying to decide if I should paint Imrahil and company separately and leave them on their bases or make a little charge scene with the three…
I hope everyone’s Christmas was pleasant and the New Year brings many blessings.
December 29, 2008 at 11:28 pm #3995Huoommmm …. I wish the same to you and your beloved, Mistress Wendy.
well, to be honest in time for Christmas I was delivered by Mithril with the last figures for 2008 (some auto-shipment still does work well) … rhuoomm … you know,it’s an old habit of mine to buy things for yourself to find under that tree … it simply keeps you from frustration … hooom
nay,not that I received anything I didn’t want … rhuoomm ….
well, yes, today I received some nice castings. Two of them are a replacement of the Mw347 archer and the Angrenost guardsman. One more is a Half-orc ready to throw a grappling hook somewhere above … two more Rohirrim-variants.
So what else can you get?
…… huoommm … Christmas trees don’t speak …..December 30, 2008 at 1:09 am #3997Master Tree, I really would like to see those variants! Please!
December 30, 2008 at 11:22 am #3998Yes, of course you can, Master Jdbrown55. But please mind that I need some time time to take pics and for that I need better weather. Some day I will display my collection of variants (conversions might be a better word). I won’t forget.
