Yes, I forgot to login and fat-fingered my moniker. Like I said, too much time away!
January 7, 2009 at 8:01 am #4041…And clearly not enough alcohol in your bloodstream. Have a pint of scrumpy on me. It’ll soon catch up with your fingers.
That’s quite a range of figures in the Fellowship poll this time round, isn’t it? I didn’t know what to do at first, but finally plumped (no ‘fatty Butterbur’ jokes, please) on the ones that appealed to me the most after a lot of head-scratching (no ‘baldy Butterbur’ jokes, please) and by applying my usual rule of thumb: which ones could I use on a wargames table? Ironically, neither of them turned out to be my own suggestions!

Tidings of Good Cheer, of course!
And what a fabulous selection this month.

and peace and goodwill to all men (and women)
Providing they wipe their mucky boots at the door.
Not looking at anyone in particular.

January 9, 2009 at 4:06 pm #4046Huooommm …. that’s what those wargskins are for …. huoommm
January 9, 2009 at 4:19 pm #4047They also keep down the cockroaches.
Seemingly there might be a new M-range release in the very near future. The Man had been hoping this month, but that now looks unlikely. Still, that suggests we may not have to wait too long. Unlike the long-delayed Easterlings range, there are no horses involved, so that won’t be a factor this time. I can say no more (well, I could, but I’ve promised not to…)
January 9, 2009 at 7:01 pm #4048Huooommmm … right you are, Master Barliman … hom … about the problem those Easterlings caused, maybe because of the number of horsed villains in that range … rhuoom …
Anyway these are good news you provided … rhuuoooommm … so I can guess what you’re talking about … hom … so … well, ahem, I’ve learned in Bree that you never should give a tip to the barkeep … rhuoomm … the only thing you can do is to invite him to share a drink … hom .. so, what Master Barliman, would you mind to sip a bowl of clear-clean-watery-honey-couloured liquid? … rhuoommm … you might put that on my tap, please …. huoommm …
tips, taps , tips, tabs … strange language indeed … hom … it rather reminds me of some sounds I witnessed when I was watching the stray cats in the backyard … huoommmJanuary 9, 2009 at 9:20 pm #4049That wasn’t stray cats, that was Nob hunting for rats to give the scrumpy some body (well several bodies actually, ho-ho-ho).
January 10, 2009 at 4:59 am #4051hey all, I’ve posted some pics of my conversion of a Grenadier giant into a First Age balrog in the art gallery. Actually got some painting done! It’s like a New Years miracle!
January 12, 2009 at 5:21 am #4075Congtrats Mike!
January 12, 2009 at 5:20 pm #4086Huooommmrhuoommm … been working in the Mathom House for quite some time … hooommm … as I’m a bit tired of hanging new pictures at the walls in the new galleries … well … rhuooom … I now am in need of a good bowl of clear clean water … rhuoommm … might be slightly spiced with some aromatic herbs and been served hot, please … rhuoommm .. it’s cold outside and there’s no hearth in the Mathom House … hom
January 12, 2009 at 7:12 pm #4088ahhh …. that’s good. Rhuooommmmmmmmmm.
Do you remember those days a year ago? Do you? …. huoommm … January last year that was. Everybody was confused about the disappearance of the MMP since December 07 … rhuoommm … then in the midth of January a new MMP … saw its light that still keeps shining … gruuooommmhhh … there was a wandering Elf who helped us all … huoomm …Well, Master Barliman, if he calls in here again one day, would you please serve him one of your best liquids (not one of those rat-drenched ones, please) …. rhuoommm …hom …hom … well, yes, of course you can mark it on my tap … if you want to do so … rhuoommm … nice patterns you have on my tab I just witness … rhuoommm … but there’s more space in the middle of that tap to continue your scribblings …. huoommm . … I never ordered any burgery-thing in a bun … huomm… not to mention that spicy sandwich dressed with some ingwer-and-mustard …. rhuoommm … some of your tabs might be not correctly taken care of, meseems …. rhuoomm
Never mind, Master Barliman, let’s hope the pleasure of staying at your premises will be shared by others, too. ….January 12, 2009 at 9:17 pm #4092(actually master tree, at the moment I am rather after a little lost shield than a some liquids but I appreciate the intention… I just hope I’ll find the shield
January 12, 2009 at 9:24 pm #4093Well I think you also deserve a drink, Master Tree, for all your work in the Mathom House today (though I still haven’t figured out how you can fit through that small Hobbit-sized door it has). And it it wasn’t you who ordered the burnt thing between slices of bread, it must’ve been the man in the dark.
Is it really as long as a year since the old Pony closed its doors and the new place was kitted out? Doesn’t time fly. And in all that time I haven’t seen Nob working once. By the way, what’s with this ingwer? – if you want ginger on your sarnies you’ll have to be clearer than that. Nob doesn’t speak Old Gothic, even if the inestimable JRRT did.
January 12, 2009 at 10:35 pm #4096What is the lost shield, Master Gildor?
January 13, 2009 at 6:48 am #4097well as I mentionned in the Mathom house Gavin, I did not receive the shield with the Mailed dwarf commander (A) from the first mw346 sale … I just noticed that a few days ago and checked and rechecked, and no shield…
January 13, 2009 at 3:28 pm #4101Well, we can acquire the new figures GW: Tar-Minastir and William. Now we can see better than the Troll takes a stick ….. I had not seen before

January 13, 2009 at 4:11 pm #4102Is it a stick? Methinks it may be a joint of mutton.
January 13, 2009 at 4:15 pm #4103Well it’s true, it may be some food ….
January 13, 2009 at 5:48 pm #4105Huuoooommmm ….. seems to turn out to be a very nice figure ….. hooom … maybe it is a haunch of venison? …. hmmmmmmm ….
