Ooh, I should like to see the results of Master Tree’s painting.
I had grand plans (Grand PLANS) I tell you, of having some completed figures to show. Alas, all I have it drywall dust and debris.
March 15, 2009 at 4:24 pm #4601Rhuooommm … why?, Master Gavin … poor paintings they are … huoomm … so why?
I gave away some pics to Master Gildor and to Mistress Wendy … alas, the quality of them pictures was simply bad …. rhuoommm … I know about your ‘Grand Plans’ that’s why I tried to support them, you know …. huooommm … dry walls, dust and debris to me reads as a fair basis for a nice idea for a new table top … huoommm … feed the cat …hom …March 15, 2009 at 4:37 pm #4602okidoke … rhuoomm … just had to upload that pic to have you satisfied, MasterGavin…
just an idea about the M17[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_m_17.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_m_17.jpg[/imgz]
well, you see, nothing special … rhuoommm …
March 15, 2009 at 5:22 pm #4603I don’t know, I think it looks pretty good for someone who has twigs for fingers.
As for the tabs, Master Tree, they may indeed be yours, but you’ll have to pay me if you want them.
March 15, 2009 at 6:17 pm #4604That’s a lovely figure, Master Tree. I like the pale colours and the detailing.
Nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever.
March 15, 2009 at 7:06 pm #4605Rhuomm … just wanted to reply to Master Gavin’s query … huoommmrhuoom … thank you … but as me twigs are hampered by gales or winds … some colour doesn’t find its part … rhuoom
as for the tabs, Master Barliman, I have to inform you that I never ordered them … huoomm… I just saw that my name was written on some of them … rhuoommm … the only thing I can remember having ordered here at your premises were some bowls of clear-clean water … huommm … in spite of that I might even consider to take care of them wargskins again … redusting and carrying around … rhuoomm … in between swiftly (sic) providing the Man in The Dark with fire to light his pipe again … rhuoomm … feed Nob’s cat once you’re absent … alas …
there’s a hell of a lot to do around here, Master Barliman … rhuoommm …March 16, 2009 at 6:49 am #4606Tell me about it.
March 16, 2009 at 7:32 am #4607Nice M17 indeed.
I also like the colour choise! Would be nice to paint a Mithril again, if there wouldn’t be all those pictures of all these convertet Mithrils in my head……March 16, 2009 at 8:14 am #4608Ahh yes, my pipe. And Master Tree, I do not think of your nether appendages as meer “twigs.’ Although I will think twice from now on about what I use to light that pipe!
March 16, 2009 at 9:50 am #4609seems that it is also quite calm in the Mithril company. The announcing of the painting competition is pushed again into the far future, no previews of upcoming releases and so on. In think more should be done to keep customers be interested in the great products Mithril has to offer. To gave customers the feeling that “something is happening” needs to be.
Maybe re-designing of the homepage would do something.March 16, 2009 at 10:00 pm #4612Well, it seems that the insistence of the Master Tree has had its reward. It seems to be new bonus figure GF, so Michael said in the forum
Just a drink to your health!

Maybe re-designing of the homepage would do something.I guess we should be thankful that we are not avid collectors of Thunderbolt Mountain figures who put Mithril in the shade when it comes to new releases  nice as they are.
I have to admit to wondering why Mithril needs to be so secretive or reluctant to keep us informed of new releases, even allowing for the approval process a ‘subject to TE approval’ strap line would at least give some food for thought and not keep everyone guessing as to what’s coming next, and quite frankly it dulls the enthusiasm and is a tad boring.
Still, I’m not buying anything at the moment anyway, GF or otherwise, funds needed elsewhere
March 17, 2009 at 12:08 am #4615. . . so, Mr. David Daines, time for concentrate yourself concerning concept-art for your next diorama . . .

I also realized the calmness, here and there. But if the man has got the same problems as myself, it is no wonder. He is working !
And he wants to meet his requirements. That can take more time as usual, sometimes . . .March 17, 2009 at 6:54 am #4618The odd thing about Mithril is when they don’t even release the stuff they do have. The M range I’ve hinted at on several occasions – the one that’s now been mentioned as the prize in the painting competition – has been at the factory awaiting release since November, TE-approved and all. So I can’t understand why they can’t just get their proverbial finger out and get on with releasing them. It’s not as if they’d clash with any other releases – there aren’t any!

interesting to hear!! But that is exactly what I mean. The marketing strategy is bad. If you have a look at other figure companies, there are always informations about what will be released next, there is rumour, there are photos and so on. That is needed to keep customers interested. I was always surprised by new releases of Mithril, which made it hard to plan saving money for small lead figures.

Rhhuoommm … I haven’t been around for awhile or so … but, Master Barliman, would you please fill for Master Erchamion and me another bowl, cup, mug, glass or whatever it is to let me toast to him in return … rhuoomm … and then let me tell you all that it’s not about insistence … hom … I think it’s more about keeping record or simply a matter of memory … it maybe even have to do with what was promised when the ‘Gold Fellow Membership’ saw its light … huom …
March 17, 2009 at 5:28 pm #4625Huoommmm … well, now it’s me being confused on keeping records …. huom .. so far I can recall about 36 MS-releases being released … hom … the first ‘Bonus figure’ was the MS458 (Witch King of Angmar) … rhuooommm … unfortunately my records are not well organized, alas … has there been a second ‘Bonus figure’ so far? … and what was it? … huooomhuoomm…

<< --- only serious answers, please ... rhuoomm you see, it’s a bit hard as even trees grow older …. huoooooooommm … then I tried to remind the company of the anniversary last year … though the first idea about that wasn’t mine … then the tradition of Christmas figures, you know … huoomm … one year there was none, you might remember …. a lot of things to do … huomm … oh, and spring’s coming … I cannot haste everything
…… but I try, of course
March 21, 2009 at 6:55 am #4628You may try, Master Tree, but you’ll never learn how to be hasty.
On another subject entirely, has anyone else seen GW’s “War of the Ring” trailer on YouTube, or on their website? Take a look:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=cat1290005&aId=12800007
Now why can’t Mithril do something like that, but even better? Having a high profile is one of the key reasons why GW figures sell and Mithrils don’t – or at an even more fundamental level, it’s why the majority of people have heard of GW but haven’t heard of Mithril.
(If the linky thing above doesn’t work, go to the GW site, select “Lord of the Rings”, go to “War of the Ring Articles” in the menu at left, click on the “Collecting” strapline, and choose “Incoming: War of the Ring”.)
March 21, 2009 at 10:39 am #4629That´s right, Master Barliman. Being a part of the mithril-world for- at last 11 years I make up my thoughts about exactly this very often.
And it´s getting closer through the years than otherwise-interesting, isn´t it . I think the starting point was somewhere around the change of the old webside.
For me it is a little pity that mithril is not able to profit their potential, which is extremely – due to the Man´s abilities.
Wonderful miniatures -mostly- and that has not to be mentioned here in detail.
BUT…on the other side I was always glad not being a member of a mass movement. It was always something soothing, that mithril is somewhere out there.
It has something to do with, well let me call it exclusiveness.
Unfortunately that is not the thought that remains . . .March 21, 2009 at 10:49 am #4630Let me say something more. The movie is nice. The point is, they made it !
Decision makers ( as announced by themselves: NOT too many ) of the company of our trust – usually- have not
even time to announce a winner being a part of THREE of an Painting Competition orginating by themselves.
If there is not the time being necessary for announcing winners ( for what reasons ever ) those decision makers should make their mind of
if such a Painting Competition is useful. For me I am a kind of fed up looking on the webside if maybe this week is the first week of march.PS: Yes I feel free now, because I have to through away the pain . . .
