The man himself suggested using bits of telephone wire to make the arrows.

I assume you fray the wire a bit and use the frayed wire bit to make the arrow feathers and the straighter bit to make the spent arrow shaft.

Huoooomm … right you are, Master Gavin as far as I do remember … rhuoommm … though I didn’t look it up thoroughly … but those bits of telephone wires (just one, of course, not all the three of them) match nicely as shafts … rhuoomm … yes, they do ….

I used another method myself… I used little thin pieces of plastic which I heated upon a flame until it grows soft and can be pulled into a straight thin shaft (not to close of the flame or it will dissolve) Once it is soft i cut the flame and thin it right away.
Then I use pointed tongs to make the fletch. and I can glue the head directly into the body and paint it.
With this method, I managed to stick half a dozen arrows on the “death of Boromir” vignette… and they are solid, not as thin as telephone wire (to thin according to me) and far more straight and unmovable than a wire

Master Gildor, maybe you can put a picture of that Boromir ? It would be helpful.
I used thin needles and for the feathers little paper-pieces. But it is unsatisfying.

I have done something like this before, but it was a spear. I did it with some of those GW plastic miniatures. I am not at home right now, but I will post a picture or two when I get home.
I used a little drill tool that I have and made a hole first and then I used a paper clip that I cut for the spear shaft. That’s how I did it anyway.

I think it was a mutton chop, ie, sheep’s hoof, in the Troll’s grip.

                        I prefer pewter!
Dieter, if you like them, I can send you some. Christoph, of course aswell if you are not happy with your paper arrows.

Yes, big effort! Very heavy indeed. I might need to charter a shipping container…..

Please! I would like to have some of those. It is funny how something like this can be so easy to make once you have the idea and then actually do it.

That would be very informative, especially to me. I am very interested in this process, but I would like to see pictures of how you actually do it.

                                            And…done the MERP characters.

Uvatha was the last, and most extensive. There’s one small change – I have postulated that the Variags are something seperate from the run-of-the-mill people of Khand, and probably refers to some Northman tribe living there. I touch on this idea in the writeup. It makes not a lot of difference to the narrative.
