I think it is clear that many of the people still active in the FG vote. The number has been consistant for many months. Over the years it would be reasonable to expect that some would join the club, and then not continue, for a variety of reasons. But they don’t “cancel” their membership, they just drop out. So the number of members is probably exaggerated, at least by a hundred, maybe more. I think that the last MS figure to sell out was Halbarad, some three years ago or so. Recently the number of figures released monthly has been reduced to 150. Mithril determines what they think will sell over several years, not just in the few weeks after a release.

Of course, we have recently added some great new members too.

So, this makes it all the more important that those of us who are active members suggest, vote on, and purchase the Mithril MS figures, if we want to continue to see Chris create our ideas.

What is this newsletter of which you speak? I have pulled up the Newsletter on the Mithril website and it certainly doesn’t show these new models. Or perhaps too much ale is clouding the mind..

Well, in other news, I just did something highly random:

I purchased the badly painted, damage MC Strider figure that’s been lurking around ebay for months and months and months. I figure it was worth spending 5 euro not to keep seeing the damn thing.

Since it is very quiet in here lately, I’ll give the patrons at the Pony some entertainment.

I have to admit that I was impressed very much … rhuoooomm … very nice details obviously and brilliant poses … huom … now, I again realized why I didn’t like those GW-figures … hom!!
Those half-orcs of Saruman might turn out to become the strongest army ever released by Mithril (in case you add all those earlier releases, including the Dunlendings, or straw-heads, if you like to call them that way) … rhuoomm … adding those 20 of the unreleased Mw347 … huom

Those are beautiful figures.

All I have to do now is paint my current Rohir militia warband up. And all the other stuff that needs doing. And then I’ll have… lots of Rohir militia. Or something.

Certainly beat the stuffing out of the plastic GW Rohir fyrd guys (who would have been nice enough models had they been cast better). By the release of this range there will be about 9 seperate variants of Rohan footsoldier types to collect all readily available from Mithril.

Be nice to see a Rohan captain and standard bearer and maybe another three warior variants before the range is done. Certainly now that GW is abandoning their skirmish rules for their large combat rules, having a nicely detailed warband of Rohir figures for skirmish games is lovely.
