they look wonderful, a troll bent this way around a campfire , excellent pose!! really
and the thrush on Bard’s shoulder , that’s grand… but I hope the thrush will be a separate part because it will be a real pain to paint Bard’s hair if the thrush is whole with the figurine!
about what Tom is holding, I’d say a horse or poney rear leg…
May 1, 2009 at 5:59 pm #5114Theobald wrote:Huoommm …. so, now it’s Bert holding a club …. huommm … still there’s no clear answer about what Tom is holding … hommm … as I said before, I think it even might be a pony’s leg … homI think it is definately a pony (hopefully not the Prancing Pony) or the sheep in those parts are huge!
The final Troll looks superb as does Bard. Dead rider, Ingold and Brand arrived today and didn’t dissapoint, just two more figures to get to keep up to speed with the GF releases!
May 1, 2009 at 6:16 pm #5115well a sheep would be more…. wooly ? don’t you think? this lamb has soft skin so i rather think it’s a poney.. as you say
Maybe a cousin of Bill?
May 2, 2009 at 12:31 pm #5118Huooommm … rhuom … so we have mutton with William, horse or pony with Tom and a club with Bert … right? …. huommmm …. ?
May 3, 2009 at 6:00 am #5122I think it is clear that many of the people still active in the FG vote. The number has been consistant for many months. Over the years it would be reasonable to expect that some would join the club, and then not continue, for a variety of reasons. But they don’t “cancel” their membership, they just drop out. So the number of members is probably exaggerated, at least by a hundred, maybe more. I think that the last MS figure to sell out was Halbarad, some three years ago or so. Recently the number of figures released monthly has been reduced to 150. Mithril determines what they think will sell over several years, not just in the few weeks after a release.
Of course, we have recently added some great new members too.
So, this makes it all the more important that those of us who are active members suggest, vote on, and purchase the Mithril MS figures, if we want to continue to see Chris create our ideas.
May 3, 2009 at 12:51 pm #5123Huoommm …. I’m afraid you’re right, Man in the Dark with your explanation about the low number of people actively taking part in those votings … huom … I have also sadly witnessed a certain decline within the GF …. rhuoommmm … though I share your point of view that some ‘great new members’ have recently added themselves to this … huoomm …
As for me I can say that I did my best … rhuoomm …. I always took part in the votings and even started to suggest new ideas of my own, after Master Barliman told me to do so … huoom
What else can I do? …. hooomrhuom … maybe another MX to keep the fire burning?
… huom
I dunno …May 3, 2009 at 3:25 pm #5125What is this newsletter of which you speak? I have pulled up the Newsletter on the Mithril website and it certainly doesn’t show these new models. Or perhaps too much ale is clouding the mind..
Are you referring to a Gold Fellowship newsletter?
May 3, 2009 at 3:58 pm #5127the newsletter on the website has not been updated for quite some months…
the “real” newsletters are those we receive in email from Michael and yes this is a Fellowship newsletter.
@Theobald : I don’t think a new MX could be achieved at the time being master ent… it would not be wise…. the workload of master Tubb seems already quite overflowing and adding a MX would only give him more and more work and delay even more the possibilities for the gold fellowship to be able -once again- to produce other things than “single unmounted” figurines…The backlog for GF figurines is currently at 6 figurines (only four, if we assume that Bert and Bard are finished) but that’s still too much if we consider there is a full helm’s deep regular range to be produced along with… certainly… other Prince August products not Mithril related.May 9, 2009 at 3:48 pm #5161Well, in other news, I just did something highly random:
I purchased the badly painted, damage MC Strider figure that’s been lurking around ebay for months and months and months. I figure it was worth spending 5 euro not to keep seeing the damn thing.
May 10, 2009 at 1:59 am #5163I have seen that thing forever! I am with you on that! Seeing that for as long as it was on ebay, I was like no one is going to buy that broken thing.
May 12, 2009 at 5:03 am #5180Since it is very quiet in here lately, I’ll give the patrons at the Pony some entertainment.
Check this out!

(If I do say so myself, the actor who plays me does a great job!)
May 12, 2009 at 1:46 pm #5193Huooommmmmrhuooommmm …. very nice indeed, Man in the Dark … and the film most of the time plays in the dark … huom … thanks for the link … hommrhuom …
Nob, would you please serve that Man in the dark over there a liquid he prefers most? … huom … I tell you that you right now have the time doing that as this is an order! … gruooomm.
dusting the bar and scatching that filthy crust from the tables can be done later … hoommm.May 12, 2009 at 3:07 pm #5195Yeah I have heard of this movie and it is quite an excellent fanwork really !
May 12, 2009 at 6:05 pm #5202Many thanks for that Tom, had it been a full length film (LotR) I would have preferred it to the PJ version
I actually found it to be a lot more ‘natural’ if that is the right word to use to watch, and atmospheric.40 minutes of my life well spent, thank you.
May 15, 2009 at 3:11 pm #5213Huooommmm … as it has become so quiet around here let me talkative Ent interrupt this silence, please … huoommm …. I just had a look at that first Helm’s Deep release … huom…
I have to admit that I was impressed very much … rhuoooomm … very nice details obviously and brilliant poses … huom … now, I again realized why I didn’t like those GW-figures … hom!!
Those half-orcs of Saruman might turn out to become the strongest army ever released by Mithril (in case you add all those earlier releases, including the Dunlendings, or straw-heads, if you like to call them that way) … rhuoomm … adding those 20 of the unreleased Mw347 … huomI think Mistress Wendy will be delighted about the new Rohirrim, though, of course, they are not mounted

Huooommrhuoomm … then I felt happy about the way The Man put an end to the discussion about female orcs … rhuoommm … hom … that was the most convincing argument referring to Saviga …. huoomm …
Alas, Nob, could you please haste a little bit in transferring that bowl from the bar to me table, please? …. rhuoommhom … my throat has become a desert talking that much again …. huoomm…??? … no, no dessert … alas … huommm … I wish Master Barliman was here … hom
May 15, 2009 at 3:33 pm #5214T H E T O R T U R E E N D S !
THERE ARE A LOT OF NEW PICS OF THE FANTASTIC NEW RANGE. LOOK !!!!!![imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_m511.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_m511.jpg[/imgz]
LOOK AT THE FANTASTIC ARMOUR ! REMIND ME OF THE BRILLIANT M005 !
May 15, 2009 at 3:46 pm #5215Those are beautiful figures.
All I have to do now is paint my current Rohir militia warband up. And all the other stuff that needs doing. And then I’ll have… lots of Rohir militia. Or something.
Certainly beat the stuffing out of the plastic GW Rohir fyrd guys (who would have been nice enough models had they been cast better). By the release of this range there will be about 9 seperate variants of Rohan footsoldier types to collect all readily available from Mithril.
Be nice to see a Rohan captain and standard bearer and maybe another three warior variants before the range is done. Certainly now that GW is abandoning their skirmish rules for their large combat rules, having a nicely detailed warband of Rohir figures for skirmish games is lovely.

May 15, 2009 at 6:11 pm #5216Huoommm … a Rohan standard-bearer would make as much sense as a half-orc commander and a drummer or hornist …. rhuoommm … why are you people never be satisfied? … huom?
Take your time to enjoy what is coming and then enjoy … rhuoommm … before your minds flow, concentrating on future visions, your mind might miss what we have … rhuoommm …
hasty folk around here suddenly … rhuoommmMay 15, 2009 at 6:21 pm #5217Huooommmm … as for another thing … hom … I thought the discussion about a female orc was ended by The Man’s comment … rhuoomm … so I was wrong … rhuoomm … I will not keep it up any more, though I witnessed some interest in that matter … rhuoommm … hom
May 15, 2009 at 6:24 pm #5218well it seems I’ll have some update to do on my database now with all those pics officially released
