Hello Masterr Tree, yes I am here often. But lately my wanderings have taken me away from the Pony for days at a time. Still, I should be around more often in the next few days, as I have promised Master Gildor that I would do some research for him, and that has been quite awhile ago, so i am feeling the need to keep my word.
Nob? Oh, there you are. Be a good fellow and bring me another pint of ale while I smoke and look over these old books. My Tab? Yes, Nob, just add it to my tab–I’m sure Barli won’t mind.
March 9, 2008 at 6:44 pm #1665Huooooommmm good to have you back here again, Master Twrich. … huoomm … just try to keep your promise as Master Gildor desperately is in need of help …. rhuooommm. thank you.
March 12, 2008 at 12:04 pm #1680Very quiet again. Not even Master Ent is in for a bowl of water. Oh well, at least Nob is here to serve the guest. Thank you very much for the scumpy Nob, very dry again after all that rain. Its just nice to sit here accompanied by a scrumpy and staring in the fire. Thanks Nob I’m all right, just a little tired after hanging up all those pictures in the other rooms.
March 12, 2008 at 12:49 pm #1682if you are in need of anything master caster , just ring the little bell, I won’t be far..
Oh and by the way, master Gildor sends his thanks for your pictures. He seemed most pleased last I saw him
March 12, 2008 at 12:49 pm #1683Huooommmmm … wonderful conversions, Master Caster …. huom … so far I didn’t see any of those warg-riders … great figures indeed …. huommm …. you deserve that name ….. hom.
But you’re right, is has become very quiet in here …. rhuooommm …. I don’t know why …..March 12, 2008 at 1:07 pm #1685The problem is there’s nothing new to report at the moment, and when there is it often gets voiced in one of the other parlours rather than here in the taproom.
One thing I can report is that I finally got my Corsairs yesterday after a considerable delay (thereby hangs a tale), and aren’t they good? Definitely some of The Man’s very best work. Mind you, I hadn’t realised until now that some of them are veritable multi-part kits! I could do without that – the more bits there are to stick on, the more bits there are to break off, and the figures become inordinately fragile to handle, especially on a wargame table. But that’s a small criticism compared to the very real pleasure of having some new Mithril ‘M’s to enjoy.
So, Dol Amroth next, I guess?
March 12, 2008 at 1:45 pm #1686Five minute Epoxy, Barliman, five minute epoxy.
You get the thingie on with that stuff, and it stays on unless you go to some trouble to pull it off. Add in a bit of super glue into the mix and it sticks faster, so it works much the same as super glue on its own.
If the figures are multi-part, then it stands to reason that there’s lots of room for conversion, which is good.

March 12, 2008 at 1:55 pm #1687Did someone say there’s lots of room for conversion???? I must have a closer look!
March 12, 2008 at 2:10 pm #1688Holger I thought about something? would you mind making a little illustrated article about the art of mould making, and of reverse mould making with some pics? I’m sure that could be an interesting article
March 12, 2008 at 2:14 pm #1689What do you mean with “reverse” mould making ?
March 12, 2008 at 2:27 pm #1690well, making a mould using a master which is already a casting… well I suppose?
March 12, 2008 at 2:37 pm #1691I suppose I can put something together regarding the process of producing a mould from a master (green) and a production mould for spinncasting
March 12, 2008 at 3:35 pm #1692well it depends if people are interested in that or not indeed. That was just a suggestion
March 12, 2008 at 4:06 pm #1693Are there any other would-be casters out there, or is Holger the only one?
March 12, 2008 at 5:32 pm #1694I am interested.
I do have access to a spin machine, but I’d probably need a lot more stuff to get that far.

March 12, 2008 at 6:18 pm #1695well I bought all the warforge elf series and I had quite some fun casting figurines, but I lack knowledge besides that… I know how to cast, that’s all…
Actually this warforge was cool but they did not made more references with them so if I could make my own that would be great… most of all to make conversions myself, not to deteriorate or spoil my rare originals which both deserve painting but also deserve remaining untouched… if you see what I meanMarch 12, 2008 at 7:14 pm #1696Ah yes, the ultiumate quandary, to paint or not to paint.
March 12, 2008 at 8:10 pm #1697having a copy of the original… not to deteriorate the original BUT having it… is purely legal
and is often used in computers with cd-rom softwares… well it can be applied for figurines, provided you have the skills and tools to get a copy…
(sorry it’s the computer guy talking here hehe)
March 14, 2008 at 2:55 pm #1702Huoommmmrhuom … No, Master Barliman, I’m not a master caster at all …. huommm … I tried years ago … but all that effort left me with burning branches … huommm … that’s why I decided that this cannot be the destination for Ents to produce those tiny metal things … huoommm.
Rhuoommm …. so , after having considered this matter thoroughly, I simply gave up …. hom.
Huoommmm … that lead me to that ‘Imrahil’ (though there’s no lead in the figure) …. huommm … you know, thoughtwise, so to say … huom.
Ah, here we are … rhuomm… facts and rumours … hom. It is decided by now that 150 of that banner-bearing-war-worn prince are being casted …. rhûommmm …
Huoommm … the Man told me today that “There is no problem or delay as far as I know.”
Rhuoommmm … that’s it about latest non-rumourous news … I do know about …hommmm.
So he will see the light before the appearance of the ‘Swan Knights’ …. huooom … rhuom.March 14, 2008 at 3:12 pm #1703Good news, Master Tree!
The only time I’ve ever wavered in the direction of casting was when I was inspired about a year ago to buy one of the Prince Auguste casting kits (for their more recent Elves), but I’ve never even got round to opening it yet. There are just not enough hours in a day to get everything done as it is! But the time may come.
