I’m waiting for the last Troll so I can order this along with HD, plus some of the outstanding GF figures – may as well save on the postage by only doing it once.
Well spoken Tom by the way, and safe travels.
June 16, 2009 at 6:33 pm #5755Yes, the postage on my awaited order (including Gamling & Co) was a killer. I hope that Mithril do actually send the figures by registered mail this time – they didn’t on my last order, even though they insisted I had to pay for it to be shipped that way! Could this be a way to make some extra money, perhaps? Nah, I’m just being cynical (er, I hope…).
June 16, 2009 at 8:15 pm #5756Don´t believe that you are being so cynical, Master Barliman.
I said that Mithril was extra money with shipping to “fatten” mysterious the figures and make the new series are larger than the vintage …:rolleyes:June 16, 2009 at 8:32 pm #5757Cynical? No, not at all !
Let me please resume some facts:
the new range was ready to be whatever in November, they release it six months later to a 80% price increase, I order two instead of eight figures and was being told,
that there are problems with the primer ( well, f**** off the primer . . . ) now there is nearly one further month gone, so what should I assume . . .
It seems that this company doesn´t need help only in advertising matters . . .@ Theobald: if The Man would have sculpted the minis more ugly, patience is no problem . . .
June 16, 2009 at 8:51 pm #5758F*** the primer? What sort of language is that for use in the public bar? There might be ladies present! (well, Wendy anyway; and some of those Dwarves might be ladies too, I suppose). But yes, you’re right – Mithril could do better in the public relations department sometimes.
June 16, 2009 at 9:26 pm #5759[large]A Rumour!!!!!![/large]Rumour has it that I have almost finished two GF releases, so there, all that scrumpy has inspired me!!! 😆
Images to come when I can find the camera charger!
June 17, 2009 at 5:39 am #5760Hmm,
some of you have mentioned one other company’s main problems: delays!!
They have too many delays when it is about their releases. Oh, yes, it takes some time to make moulds and get the approval by T.E. But why does mister T. designs minis in a relatively short time and then it takes so many time until the first figure comes out??
How the hell couild it be, that the Helms deep figures are advertised and then it takes weeks until I get my first miniature. Primer problems???????? That is definitly the point of being non-professional that makes the business so hard for them, even if the quality of the products is extremely high.
Customers do not like to be promised something, which could not be fullfilled. The company needs to solve that kind of problems!!I do like Barliman’s humour even if he is cynical. Beside that, he is our landlord or publican and I am happy his prices have not increased or adulterated his ale.
So cheers!!June 17, 2009 at 7:18 am #5761could it be a coincidence that Mary-Ann was lately replaced because of pregnancy and the new person who manages the orders/dispatch has had some problems…
Anyway, has somebody written to Mithril lately about this problem? to Michael in private or so? that could be useful

no I do not think so, because it happens too often, that the company has primer problems or anything else as a reason, why there is a common delay in relases. It is not a problem of shipping as Mithril is extremely fast, when you have ordered figures. The paket always arrived very soon after the order and Mary-Ann always was very communicative, sending very quickly an information about the order. She even managed to handle “exotic” wishes.
What I mentioned, are the promised release dates, which are too often not kept. It is always like “surprise-surprise- we have a new release” and then “we have a delay ’cause of primer problems”. That’s what I wanted to state. The service staff is perfect, the system is not.
June 17, 2009 at 9:01 am #5763Exactly !
If mithril want´s to make profit, they should work on it.June 17, 2009 at 9:01 am #5764Concerning possible problems with the primer, I think this may be true. I had a big problem with MS506 (still waiting for replacement, now for nearly two months). The face of the figurine was warped.

June 17, 2009 at 9:14 am #5765WWOOAAAHHH !
WHAT IS THAT !
Well, my Tom the Troll has got primer problems too. There are lot of places where you can scratch the primer easily off and make the decision
to prime the figure completely new for your own . . .
But your example, Ben, is quiet shocking ! What did you pay for that miniature . . .June 17, 2009 at 9:36 am #5766He looks very sick indeed! But surely the primer can’t have caused that? It looks more like the dreaded lead-rot, or just bad casting.
June 17, 2009 at 9:41 am #5767After some minutes of recreation, it looks to me, that somebody at mithril had got too much rat in his drink . . . maybe . . .
Little figures often fall downwards . . .June 17, 2009 at 10:31 am #5768Are you questioning the quality of the beverages I serve here, Master Archer? Maybe the problem was that there wasn’t enough rat in his drink. But certainly, he really doesn’t look well at all. He looks almost as if his face has melted.
June 17, 2009 at 10:43 am #5769Not to bad actually…
Whenever you have your replacement, you still can convert him..
The bad comes with the good.June 17, 2009 at 4:34 pm #5770oh by the way… I got a mail from Chris…. for information, he is only consultant since late 90’s with Mithril, he does not own any part of the company since that time he is “freelance” and works far from Mithril… So he can’t have his word at all in Mithril marketing, sculpting, and dispatching politics alas…
June 17, 2009 at 5:54 pm #5771By the way, has anyone received their Helm’s Deep figures yet?
today I have received the figs.
But twice (in two parcels and with two Bills.).
I have an autoshipment but only for the Fellowship- Range.
I don´t know what I can make now.June 17, 2009 at 6:04 pm #5772Maybe you’ve got mine as well, because I haven’t…
June 17, 2009 at 6:17 pm #5773Hello Barliman,
don´t worry.
The two bills are on my name -
