hello everyone,

marco here from germany.
i found this website in another forum..
the reason why i am here..first i am a fan of lord of the rings and i`ve got a few mithril figures in 1990 and 1991, when i was in school.
doing a clean out in my flat the last days i found them and want to offer them here, because i would like to give them away (i think it would be a shame to throw them into the waste! and i think here i can connect to people who have a much bigger passion collecting these figures than me and find someone who makes it happy to get them.

I hope it is ok to write that in my introduction mail..

Welcome, Master Legolas14! If you really want to part with your Mithril figures (which I always think is a shame – mine will have to be prised fom my cold, dead hands when the time comes…), then MMP is a sensible place to seek out genuine enthusiasts who might like them. Try listing them on “the Marketplace of Esgaroth” tab (see Index).

But before you do generously give them away, check what the current value is – you may be being far more generous than you realise. Some Mithril figures are quite (or even very) valuable these days. A glance at eBay will give you some idea of how valuabe.

Hello,
I’m from Germany, and I have just discovered this marvellous website, when I tried to identify an old Hobbit miniature I bought in a small collection of minis. (It turned out as Marcho from M58.)
I have known Mithril miniatures from the beginning, but lacking the money to get them all while they were in the shops, I bought only some, and have been filling the gaps in my collection ever since.
I’m delighted to have found a great community like this one.

Hi, Belgarath, and welcome. Wow, collecting the entire range will certainly keep you occupied (and poor….!). Do become a member of the Fellowship, which will enable you to suggest and vote for new figures every month. A very worthwhile pastime!

Welcome Belgarath, you are lucky as in Germany some of best Mithril experts are nearby you.

I suggest you talk to Master Ent Theobald, whose our wisest fellow,
Master Zoetrop managed to create a wonderful Mithril catalog,
Master Turambar makes wonderful dioramas,
Master Halbarad is the most prolific in terms of winning ideas for future releases,
then Master Caster Hsf62 is definitely some fellow to talk to when it comes to filling gaps considering missing parts of the vintage miniatures you might have.

On my side, I tend to keep an eye on many mithril attics around the world. I can for sure help you to complete your collections.
Then if you feel having breakfast is important in Bree, I’m your hobbit! 😛
