Welcome indeed, Master Kai. I came across your website more years ago than I care to remember, and looking at it one day inspired me (circa 1999) to resume the creation of my own LOTR armies, which I’d abandoned about two decades prior. Of course, there are a lot more suitable figures now, and we’re spoilt for choice as regards style and scale. Thanks for the links – I hadn’t seen the Dol Amroth guys before (somehow missed that page!).
I hope you find inspiration yourself somewhere within the many strands on MMP..
January 13, 2013 at 11:09 am #26745Welcome Kaï. I hope you will enjoy a drink at the prancing poney sometimes with us.

Do you design your own rules for gaming?I don’t so much design my own as I adapt other rules, picking parts of various rules and amalgamating them and changing them into rules that I like.
May 13, 2013 at 7:06 pm #27796Good evening to all Mithril fans,
This is my first post on your nice forum. I collect mithril miniatures for role playing in Tolkien’s universe since 1990 and I really love their design and originality.
I am a compulsive GM, I use to write my own stories, record special music for each scenario and of course after so many years testing some different RPG systems for Middle Earth, I have developed my own RPG rules. In my opinion no commercial RPG system has really represented the special atmosphere of Tolkien’s books, the magic of Middle Earth.
I would like to share with you some nice pictures from my painted miniatures but I have a problem, every time I finish a diorama I use to give it as a present to a friend…
Nevertheless it’s nice to meet to meet other collectors.
PS. Please do not be so strict with my Spanglish 😆
May 13, 2013 at 7:13 pm #27797…. welcome on our little forum Master Elgranal ! You should make photographs before your dioramas cross the threshold of your home

I was introduced to Mithril as an RPG player, and then as a GM; and I still host MERP adventures with old friends!
May 17, 2013 at 1:34 pm #27838Welcome Elgranal
Do you design your own rules in english?
May 18, 2013 at 6:11 am #27844Thank you very much for such a friendly welcome in such a nice fellowship.
Nice to meet you all.
Summer is coming so I hope to have some time to spend in relaxing painting projects… this time I’ll take some potos, I promise. Nevertheless don´t expect anything spectacular, I’m not a specially talented miniature painter but I will be prod tu share with all of you my works.
@ Master twrich: I still have some adventures with my old pals too, but not so often. Preparing and writing a nice story is a creative and funny entertaiment but it takes a lot of time.
I started with ICE’s MERP “The Lord of the Rings” when I was 12. I still have the old red book and most adventure modules which where translated into Spanish. It was really nice to have Mihril miniatures specially designed for the characters in those old adventure modules such as the thieves or tharbad, far harad and so on. I enjoyed a lot playing with this RPG system when I was a kid but I guess it was too much D&D stile based, I mean:
Level system was not realistic at all in my opinion. I had a northman kid adventurer who reach level 9 with 12 years old and thus he had much more life points than a level 5 adult dwarf warrior. He was also more skilled in combat… senseless.
Magic system was not really designed fot LOTR universe. There is a lot of magic in JRRT’s books but I guess magic of ME is a different kind of magic than ice bolts, teletransportation and so on…
Later I tried other systems but I had the same problem, I guess they were much more oriented to throwing dices, killing monsters and getting their powerful treasures, than to encouraging the use of imagination and the real role playing/interpretation.
@ Master Mornedhel: I’m really sorry but everything I’ve written is in Spanish language.
May 22, 2013 at 8:23 am #27860You are welcome Elgranal.
Besides collecting Mithril miniatures, I am an ICE’s MERP & Rolemaster (2nd edition and companions) player and GM.
It’s nice to have another Spanish guy here. Have fun!.
Best regards from Madrid, Spain.
