Thanks a lot for these precious clues & information about 1989.
Eowyn is Christmas 1990 and if you intend to propose it, I would be interrested also !
March 29, 2013 at 4:40 pm #27405You’re right, Master Xenophile, meseems. There was no Christmas-gift in 1989 as for certain matters, though some rumours have been kept up. So there’s a “blank” for 1989, as it later appeared in 2005 once again … then I dared to to pester the Company that such a tradition has to be kept on, as it always was part of the range … (you might re-read that on the official board on Mithril-website) … so in 2006 the “Arthedain Captain” was produced as the last of the 52mm Christmas series, before Thranduil saw the light in 32mm on an extended hexagonal-base, which very much resembles the bases of the CHR 1990 (Eowyn) 1992 (Galadriel) and 1993 (Isildur) … at least that’s all I do know of .

In the 80’s and early 90’s, Mithril offered Chrismas figure as gifts to the retailors. I remember the RPG shops is used to visit when I was at the university in Bruxelles where I bought my first mithrils received them lucky men. Maybe I will try to find the guys as they were not at all mithril collectors.

April 19, 2013 at 9:28 pm #27549Hi everyone
My name is Hans from Frankfurt, Germany. I’m almost fourty and I did collect a couple of Mithril figures almost twenty years ago. Not that many, but a couple of figures, which I found beautiful at that time.
Today I’m more focused on reading all kind of Tolkien books – currently I’m reading the Lost Tales to get some more details on the beginning of middle earth.I joined this forum to offer my Mithril figures which I do not need anymore, as the amount is not a real basis to restart collecting them.
If someone could give me a hint in what section offers are welcome, I would post my small list. All figures are unpainted and in best condition. I will upload the pictures to an external web page, so who ever is interested can have a look at.
Have a great weekend!
Hans

I’d be quite pleased. While I know this is a very rare figure, I think have have some CHR and Friends & Foes figures painted up too if there are any missing. (I imagine this is the wrong part of the Forum for photographs though.)
