I’m launching a call for help to ask for a name for the new category for the forum, that i plan to create to regroup all elements related to MERP matters which are directly linked to Mithril figurines.
As I told in the Prancing Pony, I’d want an entry in a read-only forum, for each MERP character in the whold mithril range, with exhaustive information about each of the Characters.
Moderator for this category would be, if he accepts, Gavin, who has all the material and references to help in this matter…Now the problem is to find a proper name for this category… with a “construction” similar to the other categories’ names :
“some place of…” “Middle-earth Location” or
“some place/belonging of…” “Middle-Earth character”But for this occasion , since it is MERP, the location or character would have to be a specific MERP name
What do you think of “The Dark Archives of Er-Murazor”
(for Info, Er-Murazor is the true name of the Witch-King in the “extended MERP universe”)July 12, 2008 at 11:15 pm #2526I’m launching a call for help to ask for a name for the new category for the forum, that i plan to create to regroup all elements related to MERP matters which are directly linked to Mithril figurines.

How about…the most outlandish of all MERPy stuff.
“The Court of Ardor”
(I’d actually planned to do a Cyradon version of that supplement at one point)

July 13, 2008 at 5:26 pm #2528Why not, I did not know about Ardor, it seems a bit “short” for a title but if people like it I will put this name
Please don’t hesitate to post your comments and ideas for the title, this is your forum as well as mine
July 14, 2008 at 9:02 am #2529“Minas Tirith´s library”

July 14, 2008 at 9:48 am #2530but Minas Tirith is not MERP specific…
July 14, 2008 at 8:56 pm #2534I don’t do MERP, but ‘The Court of Ardor’ has a nice sound to it
July 14, 2008 at 9:11 pm #2535Court of Ardor…
Lovely name.
Possibly the ultimate avatar of everything that was wrong and over the top and gonzo about MERP when it got going.
Imagine, if you will, a coven of ancient Noldo with lots of names with mysterious Xs in them, who were in the thrall of Morgoth and were setting out to destroy the sun itself. And all from a dark citadel in the utter south of Middle Earth in a place called Mumakan.
I’d love to reuse the name for something else though. It does sound lovely and evocative.
July 14, 2008 at 9:13 pm #2536Agree with Dave (on both counts). It “sounds” Tolkienesque enough not to offend anyone.
July 14, 2008 at 10:05 pm #2538ok for “court of Ardor” then
an adjective for “Court” ? Royal? Dark? whatever (to have a longer name)
July 15, 2008 at 4:37 am #2542The High Court of Ardor?
The Library of Ardor?I have no particular preference.
July 15, 2008 at 6:20 am #2543Why does it need to be longer? Court of Ardor works just fine.
July 15, 2008 at 6:23 am #2544The category is now created, I have put Gavin moderator of this category.
I will copy the articles you provides , Gavin, in each corresponding section.
You can already see all the missing references I need, and anyway, all MERP figurines are mentionned and organizedOnly you and me can post on this forum but everybody can see it
July 18, 2008 at 8:17 pm #2576Done the first few updates. More coming this evening.
The eagle eyed will notice that I am using Chris Seeman’s Mithril writeups in Other Hands as a source of background information. Indeed, Seeman’s notes (being better researched, more linguistically accurate) will automatically trump a MERP source.
so there.
July 19, 2008 at 5:40 am #2577I agree!
July 21, 2008 at 5:17 am #2578Well Done!
Gavin, thanks for the effort!
July 21, 2008 at 8:32 pm #2585More coming tonight (I promise).
I was casting a few Prince August orcs to fill out the numbers for my Battle of the Five Armies diorama – and ended up on a rather spectacular winning streak with 26 nice casts. Not bad for using waste metal! So all I need to do is paint a hideous amount of Orcs, Dwarves, Elves and so forht.

July 21, 2008 at 9:02 pm #2586Don’t worry, the brain goes numb after a while – though that may be more to do with handling all that lead…
August 28, 2008 at 6:54 pm #2998There’s a couple more updates in the Court of Ardor, halfway through the Thieves of Tharbad range now
October 13, 2008 at 9:05 am #3403very nice site
