Here is something exclusive. Chris sent me this picture :
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/2_mw346box.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/2_mw346box.jpg[/imgz]
It was supposed to be the arwork for the warband box of MW346 dwarves of the Iron Hills which were never released.
It was designed by John Temperton, who designed the front images of all the boxed sets (except M62)It has never been seen before…

November 28, 2008 at 5:05 am #3667I have seen this image before in Dragon Magazine a long time ago. It was an ad on one of the pages in the magazine and it showed a picture of a half-orc too. If I can find a picture of it I will let you know.
November 28, 2008 at 12:34 pm #3668Thank you for providing the picture, Gildor. So it’s just right in time with the first two sets of dwarves having been offered. A very nice addition.
November 28, 2008 at 3:36 pm #3669I also just got informed by the Man that he will be completly busy until the end of January…. At that time we may have quite a bunch of news… about mithril next releases and also phaeton miniatures…
November 28, 2008 at 4:47 pm #3670I’m really glad, Gildor, that you have those contacts to The Man. This makes your site even more valuable to us Mithril-friends. (With this I don’t want to lower the value of your database, of course.) Thank you.
November 29, 2008 at 9:04 pm #3675There is only the way to agree to master Theobald ( as usual . . . )
Fantastic ! I think those dwarfs are worth to put an eye on them . . . Like Estel said:” How great would this dwarven army have been!?”
But…..the pictures. I remember my first time of visiting the ( old ) mmp side somewhere in the autumn of 2007. I remember that there were more and other Photos of the dwarfs than today ! Maybe somebody of those mithril maniacs finding here can help . . . Don´t be shyNovember 30, 2008 at 10:58 am #3682you mean pictures of the MW346 army? more pics? How could that be so? I’ve never seen any on the old MMP they had never been released back in those days? only the half-orcs had.
November 30, 2008 at 11:11 am #3683There have never been pics of the Mw346 Dwarven army provided. Not on the old MMP or elsewhere. I’m sure.
November 30, 2008 at 5:29 pm #3686sorry, Gildor and Theobald, I am very sure indeed of that. I am just looking in the depths of my mac for finding them . . . hold on . . .
November 30, 2008 at 6:04 pm #3687:rolleyes: mmmmmhhhhhh…… I am afraid I can not prove my statement. . .
Instead I found the pictures from the MW 347 army which I have downloaded on the same day than the dwarves: the pics are dated on october, 31st, 2007.
There are 20 pics of halforcs ! In the MMP gallery section there are only four at present.
I found also four pics from the unique prototype of Dwaw of Waw. Also from the old MMP site . . . Also from the same date.
At present there is only one for example.
However. . . does there exist more photos of the dwarves, Gildor, Theobald ?November 30, 2008 at 10:22 pm #3688Nice picture!
It’s amazing the similarity it has with the m367 “Iron Hill standard-bearer”! The helmet, the hatchet and the clothes are identical [imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/29_nains_mithril2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/29_nains_mithril2.jpg[/imgz]
December 1, 2008 at 12:09 am #3689I am quite affirmative about the dwarves Rita… there has never been pictures of the unreleased mw346 dwarf army prior to the first set that appeard on ebay quite some time ago (and now the four bodyguards) and the Man could confirm that.
as for the half-orcs, well they have not been put on the gallery yet but the dwar of waw has , if I remember well.
The prototype of Dwar of Waw is rare indeed, very rare, but not unique, Theobald owns one… some other people have one too… i think there are less than 10 total… and Chris said he would put his last remaining Dwar of Waw on ebay one day or the other.
(I won’t bid on it… as I also have one myself…)December 1, 2008 at 9:15 am #3690mhhh, Gildor, maybe it seems that you are right . That´s the reason I can not find any pictures of those dwarves.
Maybe I should overthink my ability in remaining . . . !
Don´t hold on on this topic, I thought I was quiete sure about the pics.
Concerning Erchamion I have to say, that there is NONE thing identical to the Banner-Dwarv of the MW 346 ! Especially the banner itself !
That is the reason why mithril miniatures are such extraordenary treasures: THE DETAILS.
Look at the details, Erchamion and you will recognize that the warband Dwarv is much more detailed than the M367 -
