Nice crincles everywhere….
I guess I’ll wait to see what the next MZ looks like….January 24, 2017 at 9:49 pm #35612I fully agree with the above written statements. This figure is nothing special. There are a lot better figures than the this one. The figure was announced as spectacular one and it is made sloppy…. this is my humble opinion…
January 24, 2017 at 11:47 pm #35613Ahhhhh
the right decision NOT to buy that figure!
(as a side note: not take part in that painting contest . . . )February 15, 2017 at 10:01 am #35678As far as my eyes are concerned, the figure is in no way anything different from what we’ve seen in the past, neither better nor worse. There have been earlier figures that could occasionally be said to be “sloppy” and nothing particularly special, but that will inevitably be the case from time to time. No one can be eternally perfect. And remember, this is one of The Man’s first figures designed this way. We all learn and improve from experience! Personally I can’t level any particular criticism at it, and, as has been said elsewhere, it it gets the backlog of Fellowship figures clerared that has to be a positive step.

(If I did understand all the messages and “excuses” that the company has shared publicly). And we are talking of a professional miniature company not a group of guys that just joined now.
I have miniatures from other brands with their master printed in the same way and with the same program that are by far superior. Those brands did not spend almost three years developing a product nor sell it for this price. That’s the reason why I posted on their forum the same images that I posted here, I will not admit a diminish in quality, even if its a “minor” issue that only sharp eyes can appreciate.
Moreover if they do not solve the issue (though I hope they will solve it) I will end up, stopping my buys and starting to sell.
February 16, 2017 at 2:28 pm #35682I sent yesterday pictures for this painitng competititon…. so… this figure might ultimately contribute to something good…. of course if I win first place….
anyway soon we’ll see another figures…
February 17, 2017 at 4:22 pm #35683I was surprised to see Elroi being on the contest, I thought he was not into mithril anymore nor painting miniatures… he is clearly the winner of the contest IMO, thought with an open vote you never know what can happen.
Nevertheless, good luck to all fellow participants, looking directly into master Ddaines and Thingol direction

Thanks dear friend… well…. Usualy I made much better pictures, but this time I made them with lousy kids camera from my daughter (I’m broke my camera ;-( )
I like Elroi’s painting work but I keep fingers crossed for David… (and for me) As I would not be a conflict of interest, I will in the ending minutes give my vote to David

No chance whatsoever, LOL .
I would wholeheartedly agree with your comment Maenas, I would be very surprised indeed if Elroi didn’t lift the ‘crown’ (although in Mithril-World nothing is ever certain  ).
At the end of the day this is a figure painting competition and Master Elroi is a ‘Master’ of his craft; I couldn’t even see the stars on the figure’s clothing let alone paint them as stars*, yet Elroi makes it look as if he has submitted a painted 75mm figure and not 32mm. Give me a diorama to build any day 😎
I too wish you good luck Nino, I must admit I initially thought your entry had not been included when I had a quick glimpse at work, but maybe I was too quick to peep and close the forum in case work colleagues were looking over my shoulder
.
* Perhaps it is my eyes, but I really was not aware of the printing/casting ‘flaws’ pointed out in an earlier post by Maenas other than the lines on the bow and then only looking from an angle. Perhaps in future I will study the castings a bit closer.
p.s. Nino, please let Lara know that ‘The big dog from Romford’ has to have an X-ray on his leg on Monday and will probably have to have an operation for his cruciate ligament

Please thank her Nino
February 22, 2017 at 3:47 pm #35691I just watched everyone painting results & voted. I wish I had time to do some coloring work on mine….
Roi has my vote for this painting competition but I dislike his color choices. It seems strange to me that a gondor captian wears green & red.September 6, 2017 at 1:24 pm #36365Sorry for reviving this thread, I thought it could be the correct place to ask for the quality of the new MZ releases… I did not bought any of them because I am looking for a bit of improvement on the finish quality of the miniatures…. I mean, do the last releases still show the 3D printed pattern? or they have reworked it and it is not noticeable any more?
I am referring to this:

September 6, 2017 at 2:47 pm #36366I am painting mine and did not notice 3D printed pattern. But I also have to say I bought glasses for 1st time in my life, so I may not be the right perso to say “fine” about such tiny details.
