As I cannot find the old thread, I place some pics of the unreleased version here again.

June 28, 2010 at 2:15 pm #10548Very nice Master Ent!
June 28, 2010 at 2:21 pm #10552Ahhh, brilliant! Thank you very much for the promp support, Master Tree. And your pm´s !
Is this miniature worth a mint . . .
What do you think, fellows?July 6, 2010 at 1:58 pm #10824(this thread has been moderated for afore-mentionned reasons)
April 18, 2011 at 9:52 pm #16916Ah, it is worth looking around the old threads . . .
So it is about time to make myself unpopular:
I was looking around my Dwaw-gallery. I found different things. For example:
An auction on on 2009, Nov 07 ( unfortunately I missed that auction):[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_dwaw_tubb_14.png]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_dwaw_tubb_14.png[/imgz]
A second one on 22010, July 04 (cancelled by The Man himself. I was in the winning position):
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_dwaw_tubb_13.png]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_dwaw_tubb_13.png[/imgz]
A bit strange is, that the Man told me on Nov. 19, 2009, that Dwaw was the last one he had. Maybe he has forgotten the two other ones . . .
So it is up to you spending a lot of money for a unique figure that appears quiet often.
I for myself will observe the MX 421 auction. At a past point of time when I spent really a lot of money for it on ebay, somebody gave me special informations . . .
April 18, 2011 at 10:40 pm #16921Huoomm … I didn’t know about those auctions. I simply keep my “Dwar of Waw” as a gift which was given to me from Chis some many years ago. As was the Ms423A ,too.
No, Master Turambar, you’re not unpopular at all from my point of view.
But what I do know is the fact that The Man is dissatisfied about the price of a single figure on Ebay. And this is not the first time he felt like that. So he decided not to put another rarity on Ebay or sell it. – That’s all I can tell.April 18, 2011 at 11:07 pm #16926alas master ent, I don’t know when the man is dissatisfied or when he does not care about the amount one figurine can reach on ebay… I think…. but that’s only my hypothesis that he MAY be dissatisfied with the price a given product reachs on ebay
he won’t be dissatisfied if a M16 reaches 300€ because it is rare and the average price has been established for years, not by him… but when it comes to never released before figurines or prototypes he may feel guilty towards those who can’t afford this price or who could not save money in preparation for an eventual sale…
In a soon future I am told we may see a never seen before figurine on ebay. I PRAY that he will choose a “buy-it-now” option, though I have strictly no idea how many castings exist of this rarity….
I will speak in riddles …. one band of many were known to count more than in the end still were alive…… two of them disappeard forever, peace to their soul…
as fate wants it, it appears that many of a band have experienced the opposite and while they always were thought to be in order… one had escaped the ranks and was later found again…
not a very hard riddle, not in a proper thread on purpose…. I don’t want to announced anything directly here
April 18, 2011 at 11:51 pm #16928Master Gildor, I’m sure The Man is not dissatisfied with what he does and I know he does very much care about money people might have to spend for his miniatures.
So he decided “not to create another hugely expensive item for collectors to buy”.
That’s him.April 19, 2011 at 9:02 am #16931…here is a lot of puzzles ( or riddles )
…. I see….. hm !
April 19, 2011 at 11:05 am #16942Yes, but the riddle- though very interesting indeed- seems to be off topic in this case.
What about this Dwaw conversion this thread is about. Sorry.Master Theobald pointed out, that ” The Man is dissatisfied about the price of a single figure on Ebay. (…) So he decided not to put another rarity on Ebay or sell it. “.
But isn´t that exactly what he does at present ?!Master Gildor pointed out “. . . but when it comes to never released before figurines or prototypes he may feel guilty towards those who can’t afford this price or who could not save money in preparation for an eventual sale…”.
Well, if The Man really feels guilty, why does he put that figure that way – again – on evilbay?April 19, 2011 at 11:13 am #16944Is it anger I read master archer ? stay still or your arrows might hurt someone.
April 19, 2011 at 2:24 pm #16949he sometimes put this on ebay… especially because he too sometimes needs to make some money…… SOME money but I can assure you that Chris tries to be as fair as possible…
he only uses regular auction and not “buy it now” when there are not enough castings to allow for a buy it now ‘batch’…
April 19, 2011 at 7:33 pm #16977Let´s see how many castings he has made.

checking out the feddback is interesting enough, the finished auctions / offers are listed there and offer some insight into the average price and “rarity” levels for the figures that were sold so far.April 21, 2011 at 7:31 am #16993Turambar wrote:Ah, it is worth looking around the old threads . . .

So it is up to you spending a lot of money for a unique figure that appears quiet often.I did win this 2009 Dwar auction, for a slightly less amount than the current one. I think it’s fair to see more copies offered for other collectors, but I also contemplate if this supply is “infinite”, as we have witnessed with some other supposed uniques or rarities. Are the M16s, Dwars, MWs really old and from an attic, or (rarely) reproduced at leisure, I often wonder … Perhaps it would be best in the latter case if every such rarity would at least be described as potentially (re)available in future, in order to reduce that hyped $$$-aspect of collecting. My 2 cents.
April 21, 2011 at 8:19 am #16994Is it perhaps one of you guys purchased this figure…. it is more than 200 Euros… !?!?!?
April 21, 2011 at 8:50 am #16995Wasn’t me this time.
April 21, 2011 at 9:49 am #16996You hit the point Ben! This is nearly what I wanted to say. I often wonder too.
May the collector be happy with this figure, it wasn´t me, of course. I won´t be part of this $$$-aspect anymore.
So congrats to you owning this miniature from 2009!
And yes Milo, there is anger. I have different informations and I will reduce myself to silence.
Happy Easter to everybody. -
