Not that i want especially these for myself (though I amlooking for some)
But could anybody tell me of references having loose swords in them in the early (or even in recent) releases? I mean swords alone without the arm and hand sculpted along with it
(such as M4,M6,M14,M16,M30,M31 etc…)Only regular swords, not scimitar or orcish swords
Seems my own M16 is somehow missing its sword though I was sure I had it and it may have been mixed up with other references and I am lost looking for it… so a list of all the loose swords references would help me. (and if any of you has some spare ones, they are welcome too )

March 9, 2008 at 11:40 am #1655Hello my wandering Elf,
I’ll have a look into this and if you got swords missing, I’m sure I can help you out with a few of them. M16 included.March 9, 2008 at 4:01 pm #1656Yes, he’s the one who really can help, Gildor. I just had a look at one of Master Caster’s conversions, the standard/banner bearing one. She has got the original sword.
March 9, 2008 at 4:31 pm #1659Oh by the way you can have a closer look at that sword in your own database there you immediately placed the pic I sent you which I got from Chris …
March 9, 2008 at 5:04 pm #1660Oh my, … you don’t know what you started with the question about that sword … so now it’s me having a problem …. Let me explain. My wonderful wife gave me a new glass cabinet for my Mithrils at my birthday. So now I’m busy placing them figures from one place to the other … no problem? But there is … I started to place them by subreferences (just having an idea what has to be painted within the next years. Today I placed that M10 (priestess) and found two different daggers with the figure. I know that the official pic (as also there is in the database) doesn’t show her holding a dagger, but I know it was part of the original figure. But which dagger is the right one? ….. Does anybody know about this? I think it’s the half-curved one, but I’m not sure.
Thank you.March 9, 2008 at 6:02 pm #1661Now I know from where I had seen this sword!! it’s from your conversion master caster! you had sent me a copy of it (that I painted by the way, and I will send you a pic of it ) I thought I had it for the M16 because I saw it in this conversion
there are two figurines with a separate dagger master Ent be carefull not to switch them M10 and M15 have little daggers.
As for the M10 dagger I am sure to have the right one as it was attached to the base , (like the M16… and thanksfully, for THIS one I had the true dagger) but I never found out how to glue this dagger , it seems odd…I wish I could ask arnaud godet for permission to use his pictures for my database… this database of HIS is a pure jewel in matter of counting pieces and have a good look at them unglued!
March 9, 2008 at 6:39 pm #1664thanks … Gildor, so it’s the curved one … the pmly position she can hold that dagger must be her right upheld arm I think … though her left hand also has a spread thumb to fit for a dagger. But I think because of her pose the dagger has to be in her right hand with the blade close to her head … the curved part upwards, so it meets the position of her eyes at level …. as far as I can remember those nice blades were used to hit the … ahem … groins of the opponent …
as for arnaud … keep contact … he’s a brilliant collectorMarch 10, 2008 at 11:55 am #1669It’s the curved one! My lady has the dagger still attached to the base. I never took it of when I bought her. To easy to loose. Well, nowadays it wouldn’t worry me anymore if I would loose it. LOL
March 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm #1672well I keep all my precious unblisted mithril in littles zip-locked plastic transparent satchels with the ref number written on it…
As for the M10,M16,M7 and… for the “respect”… M1.. I keep them safely in little velvet ring cases…
Altogther, all these still unpainted figs are in a metalbound case with digicode locks , well hidden in the back of one of my laundries … I did the same for all the MW347 and first three MW346, all in a small “foam-filled metal case” digicoded.no, I am not paranoïd, They only remain there until they are painted… lol
Strangely… my Christmas 88,90,92,93 and MS423A galadriel, stand at the very middle of the appartment, in a good-looking glasscase, totally unprotected …. I must be dumb….
March 10, 2008 at 4:07 pm #1675Hmm. I have to be able to see my tiny metal things whenever I want to. That’s why all of them are in glass cabinets of different sizes, most of them in my study. Unfortunately I then of course also realize how many still have to be painted (which sometimes is a bit depressing). I decided not to paint any “rarities” (e.g. M16, that Dwaw, the Mw3467 and Mw347 fellers, etc.).
I also kept from painting Christmas figures ….:lol:March 10, 2008 at 5:33 pm #1676well Christmas figurines are not meant to be painted, most of them being antique finished. as for mw347…. painting prototypes would not be very respectful… the M16… well, I’ll paint it of course… when all the rest will be painted… which means… never
March 10, 2008 at 5:52 pm #1677I was joking about prototypes, rarities and Christmas figures, Gildor ….

I also want o make a list of pics going with this list.April 24, 2008 at 1:43 pm #1991Good grief … where do you take the time from to put up a list like that, Master Caster.
Just to update: there’s a sword in sheath with the Imrahil-MXApril 24, 2008 at 2:13 pm #1992Thank you Master Ent. I do things like this between 12.00 and 2.00am before I go to bed.
I haven’t got that far yet with the latest figs, but I will add on.April 24, 2008 at 2:15 pm #1993Hmm, and I haven’t all the pics yet eighterand it is 12.30 already…
Still some time to go though.April 24, 2008 at 6:02 pm #1994very interesting indeed! actually I am interested for the gallery if you could make pictures with references of those weapons!
April 24, 2008 at 6:29 pm #1995It’s not about pics, Master Caster, by now I managed to have all those miniatures in glass-cases (Vitrinen, you know) and even managed to find every single piece in a minute, as I arranged them chronologically from M1 – well, to whatever you want …
I will have a closer look at your list when there’s time for it … which I haven’t got at the moment … unfortunately. – I just had a look and found that you did not forget the dagger of the M10 … which might be the most missing weapon, I think. I remember those pics of her, provided by Mithril, not holding a dagger (even on the old MMP-there was no dagger to be seen).
But as we know, she’s thought to be holding a dagger in her right, upward hand.
In the original casting that dagger was fixed at the base, close to her right foot.
As I’m about to paint her I can tell that the pose is about:
Casting a spell with her left, menacing the opponent with that curved dagger being hold up … to let the other one know that such a move will meet his groins or at least the belly to be ripped open once being moved upwards … that’s how I interpret the pose
Without that dagger the pose of that Lady doesn’t make sense … look, she’s trying to fix her opponent’s eyes with her left arm, because her right arm is prepared for that “half-moon-strike”.
That’s how I see the pose … -
