I just received a big mail from Chris Tubb (he finally managed to answer my emails from monnnnths back)
I have great news that I can’t officially reveal here but if I post this message, it’s in oder to generate a suspense and interest
Many (if not all) of you will be glad about the future announcements…
Some Clues :
– there will be a sale on ebay in Autumn, a piece by Chris Tubb, never seen, released, or even mentionned before…
– there will soon be “exclusive” pictures of never-seen-before works on this website (including, but not only, the piece mentionned above, in “avant-premiere”, before its sale on ebay)More info coming soon

July 14, 2008 at 8:54 pm #2533Well should we start taking bets on how much this ‘hush-hush’ item will sell for ? Aragorn went for over £1000, so it will be interesting.
July 14, 2008 at 9:14 pm #2537Which Aragorn was this?
I am hoping by “sale” he means something Phaeton Design branded, rather than Mithril.
Gavin
July 14, 2008 at 10:08 pm #2539I doubt it will be sold on an auction basis but rather on a first come first serves “fixed price” basis.
The exclusivity is not in the price I think… Gavin may be right, but I don’t have much info yet on the matter
Mithril Faerylands will have the exclusivity of the news anyway, so you’ll be informed don’t worryJuly 14, 2008 at 10:34 pm #2540Gavin wrote:Which Aragorn was this?I am hoping by “sale” he means something Phaeton Design branded, rather than Mithril.

It was if memory serves me correct a 54mm Aragorn. I think he was holding his sword up in the air.
July 14, 2008 at 11:04 pm #2541It was Christmas 1988 “Aragorn” (1588€) Anduril in his right hand, Palantir of Orthanc in his left hand (peering into the palantir).. You can see it in my database, the reference is in there, along with a picture here [mith]Chr1988[/mith]
This is the original pose, in 54mm, that was used for the GF introduction miniature MS423So far, the rarest and most expensive Mithril figurine ever seen (and sold)… far above the M16… though it is 54mm
July 28, 2008 at 11:38 am #2626That sounds very interesting indeed, Gildor. I’m glad that Chris Tubb seems to stick to his habit in offering figures as “buy-it-now” offer on Ebay. Also he seems to keep in mind that the summer is not a good time to sell miniatures as some or many of us collectors might be on holiday and that way not be able to take part in such an offer.
I convinced Chis about a year ago, when he intended to sell the first of the dwarven war band in summer. Though that caused some delay …
I’m really looking forward to more news about this matter.July 28, 2008 at 12:26 pm #2629as I have not received any news from him since his last email I cannot say…
the only thing I could say is that it may be a “PM2”, not mithril rangeJuly 28, 2008 at 12:34 pm #2630I guess we’ll find out sooner or later..
July 28, 2008 at 10:47 pm #2634I wager that the next PM being sold …you guess, Gildor. PM2 might be. That one has never seen the light before. In case it’s a vignette-like piece it might turn out to be something special.
July 28, 2008 at 11:23 pm #2636Hasn’t he sculpted Earendil’s ship Vingiliot?
Now that would sell for an Elf -King’s ransom if it were put up for sale
July 29, 2008 at 6:13 am #2637Vingilot is a personnal figurine he did not make several cast of it, but maybe one day he may want to make other castings though I doubt it… anyway, he would never release it with this name … as it would be a severe problem towards Tolkien Estate… No the next PM is not Vingilot…but I think (though I may be wrong) that it will sell far much more than the elven princess… and it will be more expansive as there are MORE figurines in this vignette than there are in the Elven Princess… “8 figures and a base” I was said…
July 30, 2008 at 4:23 pm #2661Wow.
I love the Elf Princess vignette – I have two of them, one of whom has been “almost finished” for about 2 years now, the other waiting for a rather more ambitious work later one.
But a new one? Awesome!
Gavin
July 30, 2008 at 6:22 pm #2665there may be more than only two… but the release rate may be slow very very slow…. of that, I have but a guess, no info about a PM3 or more… but PM2 may be interesting …
July 30, 2008 at 6:33 pm #2667I do know that The Man was thinking of having a Phaeton series of Silmarillion-type characters – ie, First Age characters with the serial numbers files off. Just as Arwen became the Elf Princess, you could have, say, Beren as Mannish Hero (or something).
Such a thing would meet my approval in any case.
July 30, 2008 at 7:49 pm #2668*spoil* PM2 seems to be silmarillion based …. and MAY include a character that is not specifed in the “race” list of my database (and the list is long)
I let you guess…
July 31, 2008 at 10:43 am #2672Quite some time ago I gave Chris a quote to cast figures for him and this was about Elfs, single and mounted minis.
July 31, 2008 at 11:21 am #2675Gildor Inglorion wrote:*spoil* PM2 seems to be silmarillion based …. and MAY include a character that is not specifed in the “race” list of my database (and the list is long)I let you guess…
Today I had a dream! (as M. Luther King would say …..)
Gildor, could it be that these 8 figures have all a special “halo or aureole”?
If so, there could be other 7 figures with the same “halo”
July 31, 2008 at 11:53 am #2676i used the verb “May”… it then “may” be pure speculation due to personnal “interpretation” of the title of the figurine… As i don’t have any picture yet I may be wrong , totally wrong… but well, I did not receive any indication about keeping the info for myself or not…
the name of this vignette is : The Creator and Destroyer of Dwarves
I let you extrapolate the same thing I did myself, or not… -
