Well, or not well … As we all had to witness the fact that there won’t be any more M-series it is simply a logical consequence that there won’t be any more Christmas-figures by Mithril. Yes, of course I also pity that. It is about ten years ago by now that I pestered the company and people being responsible with emails over and over again. That once was after in 2005 I had to face a Christmas without a Mithril-Christmas-figure. — Well, at least that worked for about 10 years though in between I sometimes had to remind … alas … what’s gone is gone, isn’t it … if we’re lucky we still have a handfull of MS-releases per year, right? … and that’s all there is left …
Alright, so there still are some days left to decide which Christmas-figure to place under my Christmas tree. I’m not sure whether to take the old 2005 figure or the new one. I tend to take the new one, because so far there never was a Christmas-Bilbo. Thanks, Axel, a great idea that was.
The man has the problem that he has to work with and for Mithril, so he can only go so far.
If however, someone of us – lets assume me – decides to sculpt a miniature that depicts a “log in the water”, with branches and something lurking beneath it, showing just barely its eyes, and I use just greenstuff for it, then nobody can get upset about it. If I then send that to somebody with casting experience, and then its distributed without any commercial gain to members of this forum, then again nobody should get upset about it
Naturally that can only go so far, but its probably a way to bridge some gaps.
I surely not the MasterCaster but …
– To produce the master mould for one or 100 copies is the same investment
– As i witness during my PA visit, the master caster “resculpt/arrange” some parts to better fit mould production…
and the fact that the man stop/hold the Phaeton range (not related to PA/mithril) is mainly but not exclusively a return on investment issue (beside some critics)
He is present quite often but rarley noticed Master Ent.

Done, except for the waves. I am still experimenting with different ways to sculpt these.
Not sure wether it would be appropriate to leave them blank, as with the barrel rider, or try something.
I will put up some pics of the unwaved version soon, and perhaps some attempts for waves.
Edit: I really suck in making good pics today. With my old cam I could make a good image just of an eye (which did nothing good to my self-esteem as painter), but the modern digitals fail to have a decent zoom function – or succeed in hiding it from me. Try again later…
