      Hi,

I found it inappropriate to post a link to another company on Mithril, but I found this village set at Kickstarter (just three days left) and thought some might find it interesting – if only to take a look.

I already have works from both the KS-running company (resin minis) and the designer of the huts (Sandbags End), and they are second to no other on the market.

THIS is what I want when I spend some bucks on terrain. Alas, the international shipping is a beast for the full set :-(

This is the company of the creator, who will sell them after the KS is done:

      And two example:

I will convert one of these to put the birthday party behind :-)

          Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Do you feel scale correct for mithrils ?

I only have “Sandbags End” from this company, made for the WWI-range of Halflings from Hasslefree:
            http://modelearth.azurewebsites.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P1010003-1024×768.jpg

Its size is like its made for Mithrils. Alas, while the spirit of the Trenches ouzes from Tolkiens work, Frodo looks a bit off in this environment.

I lack any comparison shots for these, but I assume they will fit similarly well. Once I get them I will take some photos.

            Edit:
Here is one shot I found with the Hasslefree Halflings, which are a tad larger and bulkier then Mithril Hobbits (though not much)

              Hi Milo

Scale-wise the buildings have been designed to suit the Westfalia Halfmen, which are 20mm from floor to eye. There is a comparison photo at the bottom of this page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/westfaliaminiatures/the-halfmen-army-pugnacious-halflings-in-28mm showing their size relative to several other manufacturers.

              Regards

              Matt

Some of them are really interesting and I like them a lot.
                Thanks for sharing Axel :)

                  Er, Axel, you said

But what is that strange “birthday party”? you seem to have in mind.
From Tolkien I just know of Bilbo’s famous 111th birthday party which clearly was celebrated outdoors and of the unexpected party in the “Hobbit”. Here the word party obviously is ambiguous, as it does not only refer to a nice meeting with food and drinks among friends but also to that bunch of Dwarves.
Anyway … I like those houses very much. I wish I had more space and time to use them for a diorama.
