Today, I received a very big lot (4kg) containing mostly Grenadier and Prince August miniatures from old ages (between 1985 & 1989).

I spent the evening to ID everything and I could not find any clue about 2 which are very nice 54mm scale and, to my point of view, look somehow like CT might have sculpted it.

Nothing written under these miniatures, no base… So any help would be welcomed.

These figures do look awesome, Milo. Congrats to have them!!!!
And yes indeed, they look quiet Tubb´like. Especially the knight is very much to my satisfaction!
Unfortunately I can´t help you to identify them.
The “woman” reminds me a bit of “princess Shaaranon” from Grenadier.

Have a look inside the “unique and rarities-gallery” !

this is a strange lot indeed… looks like 54mm too but the pics are not good enough to get details… maybe you should send those pics to the Man to check if this is his work … it should revive him some memories…

I doubt it is the chr1989 as it doesn ot match the description…. it does not look like tolkien related but it could be another fantasy brand…. still, Chris only worked on the female models for Grenadier I think…

want to send them to me for “expertise”? :p or at least take some better pics and send them to Chris for HIS expertise … that would be a wise thing to do

            quite a mystery

                ok I found their origin!

these are chesspieces : http://princeaugust.ie/708/index.html without their base they are still for sale at 39.99€ by Prince August :)

the design gave me the idea it could have been chesspiece because of the pose and the lack of “separation” between cloak and body

these are handmade casts… and from what I see VERY badly conserved… from Chesspiece moulds from Prince August… sculpted by Chris Tubb, but still available for sale

so… alas… their rarity is … inexistant it seems… though now that I look at them, they could make real good figurines, aside from chesspieces!
