I received my [mith]Chr1993[/mith] order today.

Miniature is 100% identical to the old original one I have.

Still, I noticed little ways to differenciate it:

      – base marking: new [mith]Chr1993[/mith] has little “S” engraved whereas the old one does not.
      – antique finsih is much nicer nowadays.
      – It is provided in a white box, as per other Xmas figures (no box for the old presents)
      – Mithril added a leaflet (with www link, funny as mithril on internet did not exist in 1993 )

I will take a picture to illustrate.

I have seen some letters on some references also…. is there a topic explaining them? are they a mistery?
Congrats for that christmas miniature ;) and also curious to see that leaflet.

              Indeed, Master Mornedhel.

Well, I received my “new” 1993 Isildur last Saturday and also compared it with the one I have from Chris. So, Master Milo is absolutely right. There’s this “S” below the base the old figure hasn’t got. Also the base of the new figure itself seems to be cut a bit more roughly below. – Ah,the leaflet … It made me laugh for quite a while because of that serious misprint on it (… the northern foothills of the Isildur … “). Well, maybe it’s just Irish humour.

You are right about the base being rough. ;)

                  Hello guys:

I’m back on bussiness… Getting miniatures again!

Yesterday I recieved the Isildur christmas 1993 miniature… Also MX600 LOTR ‘The Crack of Doom’ and 2014 Lord of the Rings ‘Lossoth™ Shaman Chieftain’

But when I made the order last week, I also asked to get a refund of my still proccessing order (from 21/12/2012!!!) with the MS532 Lord of the Rings ‘Durin VI™, king of Khazad-dum™, as many of you know, it’s in “OUT OF STOCK” long time ago.

Well, last week with the email about my current order processing, Joan answer this:

Hi Jose , I have found an MS532 for you so I will send it with your order. Joan

With my box, it comes a MS532, so I finally got it. But the mini it’s still out of order in web page.

Maybe people that it’s still waiting for it (Mornedhel???, ddaines???) if you talk (and insist) with Joan at dispatch@princeaugust.ie can get any response.

I am a really happy man now. Back to collect Mithril Miniatures and I get two minis I could never hope to get.

                  Best Regards,

                  Imisel

I received my own Isildur today and I must set I am a bit upset,

First, it does not have this “S” you are talking about but more importantly, the front of the helmet (in Isildur’s left arm) and the corner of the cape, below the same arm, are ‘flat smoothed’… as if the figurine had been too close to a heat source and had begun to melt… I compared with the original Isildur 83 (primed) I have and definitly the helm is not the same “flattened there.

I just wanted to know if your helms had the same problem or if I was sent a bad casting or a damaged one… I will try to make pics soon to illustrate what I mean, but please let me know.

I just can confirm what Milo said before. The “new” figures are exactly the same as the “old-ones” in each and every detail. The only difference I can tell is what Milo also witnessed. It’s the “S” at the base. – I’ll also try to take some pics to confirm what I said. It might be useful then to have pics taken from your side to find out about this.

well here are some pics to show you the problems :

                              first the different bases :
                              [imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/2_dif_base.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/2_dif_base.jpg[/imgz]

                              then the helms :
                              [imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/2_dif_helm.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/2_dif_helm.jpg[/imgz]

Honestly I think I should write to PA with this pic and ask for some explanation or a resend…

mmhh as I get no answer from anybody I feel sceptical, could you give me comments before I send this to Mithril?

Sorry I am of no help at this issue ;( but I would ask for a replacement copy if that’s possible.

I agree your mini is not MINT and you should ask for another one.

Sorry for being so late with my answer, but I had no access to the net for quite some days. Anyway, Gildor, I compared the poics you sent with my two figures. The “rough” sub-base is the same with my “new” figure. Indeed it’s worse than the old one. My “new” figure though does not show that fault at the front of the helmet as I could see in the pic you provided. That clearly must be a mistake that could be based on a bad casting. – Well, what to do? — If I were you I would at least contact the company (immediately) and point out that fault in the casting of your figure. Maybe also suggesting what could be done in terms of replacement. – Anyway, it’s annoying right away, though I doubt that those people who packed your figure were aware of this “slight difference”.
