Hello there
maybe some of you are aware, (I suppose Milo is) but Chris made some figurines for the Jeff Hawke (a sci-fi comic) club years ago.
on lost wiki, there are some entries for them
http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Jeff_Hawk_Figure_Collectionbut it seems there are others : as these pics show :

I hope some collectors will find that useful

November 30, 2020 at 4:25 pm #39224Never seen these before. It is quite strange futurist design !
November 30, 2020 at 5:02 pm #39226They are straight out of the film “Forbidden Planet”, from another century 😆
However, I find them very sympathetically offbeat.November 30, 2020 at 6:30 pm #39227well I have taken upon myself to try something bigger than simply Mithril , MMP or Prince August
I am trying to work with Chris about his lifetime workeverything he has ever sculpted, to make a full catalogue of everything he has ever made (for many brands… PA (mithril or not), Grenadier, Phaeton, Time Machine, JeffHawkclub, or even historical figures.
he will try to help a bit…
that’s audacious but well, his style is somewhat uniqueDecember 2, 2020 at 1:58 pm #39230I bought some years ago the complete set of the Teutoburg Wald serie sculpted by Chris
December 2, 2020 at 9:21 pm #39231I checked them all , and though i am not versed in historical figurines, i must admit the vignettes themselves are great.
but I saw models of other “contemporary” figurines sculpted by Chris in 54mm, (not celtic, nor roman, but from world war II)
December 3, 2020 at 11:46 am #39232Those Teutoburger Wald scenes are extraordinarily great, I think. The development(!) of that battle is presented very well and the appearance of the figures are well based on historical garment and equipment. Simply fascinating.

Alas it would appear that TM no longer exists . Both were good people to deal with.
December 3, 2020 at 8:29 pm #39236Guys can you show us few photos of Teutoburg Wald serie ?
December 4, 2020 at 8:55 am #39238they all are referenced here :

(those are 54mm scale)

December 5, 2020 at 11:43 am #39240I live in that nice area. Osning is the old name of the Teutoburger Forest. That’s also why I like those small vignettes very much.
December 5, 2020 at 12:41 pm #39241too bad it was too expensive for me back at the time to collect them all, but then again, even if I find them beautiful, I am not very interested in historical figurines
December 6, 2020 at 8:50 pm #39242One day I will get around to finishing them
December 7, 2020 at 5:16 pm #39243Long time ago there was a wonderful presentation of a huge diorama by Kevin Townsend on Time Machine Miniatures. It was called “using miniatures to tell the story of one of the most decisive battles in history”. For that he used all the miniatures of those Teutoburger Wald releases. He took a lot of pictures of the scenes and so presented his fantastic paint job and reveiled a lot of historical facts about that battle in his presentation.
I’m not sure if this is still known.December 7, 2020 at 8:28 pm #39244Theobald wrote:Long time ago there was a wonderful presentation of a huge diorama by Kevin Townsend on Time Machine Miniatures. I’m not sure if this is still known.I am sure I have saved that picture somewhere, I was looking for it to post it here and will continue to do so as like you say Master Tree, it is a wonderful interpretation.
I did print the article for reference, but alas the photo was not printed in colour although the original was.
I shall continue my search
December 7, 2020 at 8:33 pm #39245Here it is, for some reason I have it filed as ‘Cohen’ diorama

Enjoy (shame the photo is taken with the glass cover on).
December 7, 2020 at 8:37 pm #39246Although not from the same diorama here is a better picture of some of the figures

December 8, 2020 at 12:32 am #39247That exactly is it, dear David. Simply marvellous, isn’t it? – I still have the file of Kevin Townsend’s “documentary” for which Jim Corless, the former owner of Time Machine and being a very generous person, provided all figures and castings.
I’m not sure if I might publish the link here … but in private? who knows? -
