I think my next (more ambitious) diorama will be a clash between Harad and Faramir’s Rangers of Ithilien. I’m trying to I.D. the different models I need.
Here are the figures I’m thinking of getting.
Rangers
MC39 Faramir
MC40 Anborn & Gollum (will remove Gollum – just need another ranger!)
M378 Mablung
M379 Ranger
M380 Damrod
M384 Ranger/Harad fighting
M386 RangerHarad
MB418 Mumak boxed set
M382 Southron Swordsman
M293 Harad Mounted Chieftain
M294 Harad Mailed Infantry
M153 Harad Captain (very rare..)
M154 Harad Infantry (rare..)So my question:
Does anyone have an extra M153 or M154 they would like to sell to me – to help my effort?Or any other ideas or advice to offer?
Thank you!

I’ll look, but I think I’ve already given away my spare M154.
The good news is that they do show up on ebay reasonably regularly, as do some of the recent Rangers of Ithilien series.
When running an ebay.com search be sure to “include international sellers” and you can get some very good deals.

September 30, 2009 at 6:34 am #7199Item Site: France Item Number: 290354327117 try to bid on it… and buy other directly from mithril.ie
I don’t have spare figures from this lsit, but I’f I find something in future… I will send you for free….September 30, 2009 at 2:31 pm #7207Thank you Nino!
And I will take a look at that ebay offer.
September 30, 2009 at 3:51 pm #7208Hi, OriginalAragorn, I just saw your list. Unfortunately I do not have spare figures of the nice M153 and M154 (mind that the M154 consists of two figures!).
What I want to say is that in you listing up the Haradrim you seem to have forgotten two more very nice figures:
– M293 (Haradan mounted chieftain)
– M294 (Haradan mailed infantryman)
As for the Rangers, I think M377 to M386 are still available at Mithril directly.
You seemed to have chosen a very ambigious project for your next dioramaSeptember 30, 2009 at 4:50 pm #7209Master Theobald – I’m afraid my project may be a bit TOO ambitious! I may end up going with a smaller skirmish – without the oliphant..
And most wise one, I must point out that I did list the M293/294 on my list. Perhaps you have partaken of the “magic fungus” a bit too readily this evening…
September 30, 2009 at 5:17 pm #7212George –
Quick piece of useful advice: scour ebay.com. For whatever reason, really good mithril deals can be had from sellers in the US. They won’t have quite as good a variety of “finds” but you can certainly save yourself money, by paying and getting shipping in USD. US ebay sellers have quite a high opinion of their time (as evidenced by shipping and handling costs!)
Which leads me to my final piece of quasi useful advice: be patient!
Gavin
September 30, 2009 at 5:59 pm #7213…. why “too ambitious projec”t Master Aragorn… be patient as Master Gavin said and your mithril dream will be accomplished… and this is the point of all hobbies… …. I think that lots of MMP guys want to see nice colored diorama with battle between Harad and Ithilien !!!!
September 30, 2009 at 7:22 pm #7214Too ambitious because I don’t think I’m good enough Nino! I’m not sure I have the ability to model the terrain and paint these figures to look as good as they need to.
But I still might do it!
QUESTION: do most people who order from Mithril use “Standard” postage or “Registered” postage?
Thanks,
GeorgeSeptember 30, 2009 at 9:38 pm #7215I use standard, never had a problem, and my packages generally go to Canada.
(Being from Ireland, I’ve occasionally ordered from them when I was actually there!)
September 30, 2009 at 9:39 pm #7216I think I’m developing a reputation as being impatient!
So it should come as no surprise that I just ordered the following models:
MC39 Faramir
MC40 Anborn & Gollum
M294 Harad Mailed Infantry
M378 Mablung
M379 Ranger
M380 Damrod
M382 Southron Swordsman
M384 Ranger/Harad fighting
M386 RangerI couldn’t quite bring myself to order the Mumak yet. Maybe soon..
I can’t wait! Why aren’t they here yet? It’s been 10 minutes!
October 1, 2009 at 6:31 am #7217All things can be learned, and so making the field for the Diorama too. Look at my black and white photographs on facebook, and you will se that those dioramas are made from of plaster, resin, real plants, artificial snow spray, wood remnants, fabrics, etc … there are many things you can find easily… and be patient… You did not give yourself deadline that your diorama should be ready soon! … so I engage in modeling last 25 years … and everything you see on my site is the result of that … so as Master Theobald sais….take your time and do not haste hooooooommrhoooommmmm my mithril friend…
for postage … I have to use recommended with the insurance because I live in a “state” outside the EU, which falls within the zone of “primitive peoples” …
Have a nice day George… ups Master Aragorn…

PD: Sorry for this not being related to the main thread, I just have to say it
October 3, 2009 at 8:20 am #7247…. Thanks for this compliments Master Maenas… This is Aragorn’s topic but anyway… George has already seen my pictures too đŸ˜†
October 3, 2009 at 8:43 am #7249Well, Thingol, living “outside the EU” and being regarded as ‘primitive’ I can only say that I’m living ‘inside’ the EU and was regarded the same way as you by the customs-offices because I am not living in the USA. It took me more than two weeks, many phone calls, letters, filling out forms, etc. to receive that ‘NĂºmenorian Army’ a friend sent to me as a present.
Is there anything more ridiculous than that?
Regards from another ‘primitive mind’October 3, 2009 at 6:02 pm #7257…. welcome to the global jungle my friend… hooommmmmrhommmmoooommmm your forest is definitely the best place to live… no custom office, no primitive orcs, no strange animals only mighty Ents and they friends… so I will come to Fangorn forest …
October 4, 2009 at 8:50 am #7260Huoommm … you’re welcome, Master Thingol …
October 4, 2009 at 4:59 pm #7271…. and you to visit Republic of Croatia, as a tourist for the first time my friend…. huooommmmrhuooooomm
