M6 Prince August

I have a doubt. I have a M6 “Gondorian guard captain” that, unlike others figures, has registered at the base reading “Prince August” just above “Mithril M6.” Besides it is numbered with the number eight (such as Mithril Master). Is this normal? Is it a rarity?

Hi erchamion, This was covered in the former incarnation of this site (the former MMP). That figure besides being the only regular released figure with a oval base, is also seen with two different stamps on the bottom. One is the one you describe with “Prince August” and the other without the reference to PA, just M6 and Mithril. The PA version is considered a variant, but I do not think it is exceedingly rare. Others have speculated this figure may have been transitional from the earlier fantasy army ranges being produce at that time, before the look of the Mithril was totally defined.
