March 25, 2011 at 3:54 pm #16266Now that really is even more than a surprise. – I just checked the picture with my figure. – It’s her!
Milo, you used the word “promotional” figure. That word wasn’t used in the description, but that version really was meant by Chris Tubb as an example to show PA about shape and design of a 52mm scale.
The subreference in the description is slightly wrong. The original reads MA1, not MSA1. The figure has an antique finish and is more than rare and definitely so far was never ever offered on Ebay. – Until now I didn’t know about a second figure of that version existing. But, as I stated before, I think you really can trust the seller (not only because he also offers the original box).Information about this figure Gildor provided in the Unique section in the Gallery.
That’s a d****d rare figure indeed.
March 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm #16267…. (still being very much puzzled) … why does he sell such a rarity without at least fixing a start price ??? I think that’s very risky … there are things I do not understand … unbelievable …
March 25, 2011 at 4:28 pm #16269Die Wege des Herrn sind unergruendlich!
March 25, 2011 at 5:29 pm #16270well I know this one is rare (though selling it without its very special box certainly makes her less “rare” in terms of auctions…
I have one, thanks to the riddle game some years ago, offered by our dear ent… and I have the regular one, which was primed in gray.
both say MA1 though… [mith]MSA1[/mith] is not the same, it is the LotRO witch king collector edition figurine.
March 25, 2011 at 6:54 pm #16274This is why I created a special topic.
I will ask him if he provides the red box and leaflet on monday.Good luck Master Thingol !
March 25, 2011 at 7:17 pm #16275… I see that here in this auction I must have more than luck ( € ) :lol::rolleyes:
I thin that I must start family negotiations…. Milo knows recent story about it…..
March 25, 2011 at 7:58 pm #16277mmhh Milo, for the antique finish, I think the box is BLUE, the RED box is for the primed MA1… (IIRC)
March 25, 2011 at 8:10 pm #16278good thing i only collect 32 mm.
March 25, 2011 at 8:20 pm #16280… this is in this case definitely good think Master Cameosis… !
March 25, 2011 at 8:45 pm #16281if it’s the antique-finished MA1 (copyright Tolkien Enterprises 1992) there will be a lable on the red box reading “Mithril Fellowship MA1 “Galadriel”. The red box itself reads:
The Mithril Fellowship Special Figure Collection.
Inside the box there’s a sheet explaining who Galadriel was/is.
That’s all I know.
And it’s not a blue box, Master Gildor. Other Galadriels were put into blue boxes, but not this one.March 26, 2011 at 8:39 am #16283good luck also to our lord of the paints !
March 26, 2011 at 9:25 am #16284Ok, just to settle this. I contacted the seller last night and he told me that the Galadriel presently offered by him on Ebay “is not a rare figure at all”. It’s a 55mm figure (in a blue box). I do trust Mjach as I know him. Oh, and by the way, there were thoughts somewhere here that he might be selling his collection. His collection still is complete and almost all figures are painted by now.
March 26, 2011 at 11:41 am #16286So, the lady Galadriel is not the unique ebay auction. Good to know before Thingol or Estel spend too much ! This explains also starting price at 1€.
I did not know MJach had almoast painted everything, very impressive !
Apart from Thingol, who else possess every 32mm painted ?March 26, 2011 at 12:52 pm #16287Well, I just wanted to inform you here as best as I can. As you might remember, I started my second last entry with the words “If it’s the …” and that implied some doubt.
So I tried to find out. As I’m an old collector around here I do have contacts to other serious collectors. I just want to inform you before someone spends a lot of money on a figure which still is available.
As for Mjach, he didn’t paint all those figures himself, he let them being painted by some very skilled painters.March 26, 2011 at 1:13 pm #16288The Antique Finish MA1 Galadriel while pretty hard to get hold of (it’s only the second time I’ve seen it on ebay) it’s not unique – I found one on ebay about a year ago offered as a buy-it-now. It has a blue box with a yellow sticker reading: Fellowship MA1 Galadriel Mithril – there’s no character sheet with it. Underneath is ‘Mithril MA1 Galadriel’. Reading what Theobald has learned the one at auction must be more-or-less identical.
Is the factory-purchased figure primed and in a red box? Does it come with the character sheet? I just assumed that the one I bought was standard. Maybe the truth is that both antiqued and primed figures were sold by the factory – as also seems to happen with Xmas figures.
March 26, 2011 at 1:18 pm #16289Ibought mine directly from the original Mithril Fellowship, via Prince August France (back in a time there was no internet around)
I got mine from Mithril then, primed and in a very good-looking red square box (like the blue christmas box) excepte there is a little place on the center of the cover where there is the sticker for the reference and this sticker is surrounded by silver
background… certainly the most beautiful “box” in the Mithril range…oh and if mjachm is selling his collection, as I know he is a serious collector… maybe he does have some of the prototypes I miss in 54mm? do you know anything about this master Ent?
March 26, 2011 at 1:59 pm #16292I ordered a MA1 direct from the factory around 1 and 1/2 years ago and received it in a blue box and the figure in antique finish. It seems, they still don’t know what they are doing, or did I miss something…..:rolleyes: (shaking his head)
