Here’s a couple pics. They are by no means finished…

(The white on Gandalf’s hand is primer. I had forgotten he didn’t have a thumb until I had already started painting him. A little putty took care of the missing appendage.)

March 15, 2011 at 5:35 am #15945Holy Moly Wendy!
I am…flabbergasted.
Such talent, such colour blending, such detail.
My current efforts shame me
March 15, 2011 at 8:21 am #15946Beautifully painted table… I can not wait to see the final result…..
March 15, 2011 at 8:30 am #15947What I said before. Very disappointed that you didn´t take part in, Wendy.
This is the best table I have seen so far!March 15, 2011 at 8:40 am #15948I love everything Wendy.
The table is perfect. You are the one who chose the proper material on this furniture.
Keep going, slowly…take your time and for sure you’ll get a special award at the end ! 😎
March 15, 2011 at 10:52 am #15949Did you paint the table, or did you carve it out of marple? Great work!
March 16, 2011 at 1:35 am #15950WOW!! Nice to see that you are working on Mithrils again!
March 16, 2011 at 6:01 pm #15956Thanks guys.
March 16, 2011 at 9:39 pm #15957Looking great as expected , agree totally about the table it really looks like it has been carved from some Elven wood, the subtle colours are very well done.
April 6, 2011 at 1:12 pm #16569I can’t decide what color to paint the chairs. Dark or light wood?
April 6, 2011 at 1:28 pm #16571Of course dark wood ! 😎
But: if you decide the other chance, it could be fit better with the colour choice of the fantastic table . . .
April 6, 2011 at 1:36 pm #16573Yes, I would say so too!
April 6, 2011 at 2:10 pm #16575I think no one yet found the right color for the chairs. But We all trust you to find it, as per table.
April 6, 2011 at 2:15 pm #16576NOT ?!
April 6, 2011 at 2:24 pm #16577Sorry, I don’t get it Master elf. Can you light my brain ?
April 6, 2011 at 3:05 pm #16580What elf is supposed to light your brain?
I thought Master Archer was talking…April 6, 2011 at 3:36 pm #16581Turambar wrote:NOT ?!Whatr is he talking about ?
April 6, 2011 at 10:22 pm #16586I am talking about that I do not agree with the Forest Warden´s statement, that “. . . no one yet found the right color for the chairs . . . “
April 7, 2011 at 8:36 am #16588Master archer, let me here try to be more precise on my opinion about actual chairs painting:
I made a mistake writing about colors. I was more thinking about the wooden aspects.
Chairs are wooden one for sure and I see no streaks nor knots on any chair.I tried several wood imitiation painting on chairs without big success
My drawing was not successfull, so I removed it and choose 2 brown colors.
On my table also, I am not completely happy with the result.Basic principle is : (french tutorial: http://www.master194.com/encyclo/bois/index.htm)
Choose which wood to imitate ==> defines the colors palette
Paint first undercoat color using the bright color
Make the streaks and knots drawings
Add brown glazing several times. -
