I must be frank with all of you…. I am afraid to write to chris and I don’t know how to submit things without revealing all the project, and if so, that would cancel all of it because he could become quite upset with it all…
I have developped a good friendship with Chris and his slowness in communication makes it a very very slow process to acquire such a trust , honesty and close friendship… It would really pain me to get him angry or upset with me (after all this is my idea and he may be very mad against ME about this and that would really pain me…)
Though I think I owe him a lot for all the gifts he has given me, I have to objectively consider these were not uninterested gifts from him but a sort of his “thanks” and “payment” for all the dedication, money, time, and updating work I do on this site, and forum… so it has always been him who thinks indebted with me… though I feel the countrary I suppose?
I also note that only a few among us feel they owe anything to him and that is normal because he has not been as giftful as he was with me for most of you… so you owe him perfectly nothing after all the money he is taking from you from his ebay sales… that his perfectly understandable…
maybe I should reconsider the whole project… and not include Chris at all in it as there is a risk… I don’t hide it from you… that it may jeopardize totally the trust and close relations we, at MMP, can share with him… that’s ironic, but that’s the sad truth…
still I think the project is worthy… and should carry on… even without Chris
I’ll wait for your feedback on my inner thoughts here… once again…

But I’m a bit manic on mithrils…
September 5, 2011 at 9:06 pm #20170I hope that eventually at the end, all this will become just one good idea…..

September 6, 2011 at 8:39 am #20182ah I like the barrels yes as much as I’d love to paint on wood, to change a bit from metal that would be great I think
as for Holger’s picture of the counter, that’s also a very good thing actually taht could be our counter…. what’s the source of this?
September 6, 2011 at 9:41 am #20186Me….
September 6, 2011 at 9:54 am #20187I have made very bad experiences painting wood. As I don´t like those barrels at all. Sorry. Too less detailed. Again sorry.
I bought similar barrels for my raft elves diorama. After painting them I decided to throw these barrels into the rubbish box . . .
I bought last year fantastic barrels at a modelling/figure-exhibition. I didn´t remember the company, but the exhibition will take place in october. The best barrels I have seen so far are here:
http://www.daskantoor.de/60.007.htm
Or inside my “thieves of Tharbad”-diorama. Have a look inside the gallery section . . . 😎
September 6, 2011 at 10:30 am #20188If I find all the barrels , tables, seats, baskets, foodplatters……… I’ll take a pic and post it.

Everyone can use what they want and that is fine with me. I may also make my own furniture out of wood as well. If anyone is interested in these barrels let me know
and I can get some for you.September 6, 2011 at 5:46 pm #20194Gildor Inglorion wrote:I must be frank with all of you…. Gildor,
It is the links of friendship and trust that I alluded to in my previously [lengthy] post that I do not feel are worth jeopardising for a project like this if Chris felt betrayed by the community and indeed by yourself if you see it that way. I would not think of it as a betrayal by the way, just a good idea that has run into possible problems due to the ‘recast’ word .
I think that once you mention casting Mithril figures regardless of converting them first or not, it would set the alarm bells ringing with Chris. The fact that you are worried now that Chris will find out will stay with you throughout the project and beyond.I can read from the posts that not all members are wanting to do this for Chris which is fine, the question then is who should we be doing it for if not Chris ?
If it doesn’t disappoint all participants why not consider a one single diorama for either Gildor based on all the work involved in making the site what it is and for raising awareness of Mithril Miniatures (not least to the people who should be doing this work themselves Mr Edman and the company!!) and be done with it. OR make the diorama and have it as a prize drawn out of the hat so that any of the participants in the project could win it.
It would still be nice to see everyone get a figure cast from the proposed conversions but that remains to be seen.
September 19, 2011 at 2:56 pm #20295OK, let’s move on, we can go on with the project… indeed no public communiquee will be made as Chris cannot endorse this project at all, but he unofficially encourages the projects… but would be willing to know who will participate, who would make the castings and what kind of moulds would be used, spin mould or gravity mould (i dont know what these are…) Maybe in order to give a hand or to participate I don’t know…
the production of this set has to be in control by us in every step though indeed no leakhe may eventually…. well… create his own avatar, sat down to fit inside the project… (I remind you that [mith]M389[/mith] is Chris Tubb…
this info is and must remain confidential to this community… as I said, it is not official… but we have support…
more info on other matters to come in other topics… alas the price tables won’t change for the forthcoming M release in the SHORT term but several projects are to happen soon… I gave my word not to speak of anything until he gives me leave but the mail was VERY long….
we have to be patient…
last word…. for our friends here, especially Turambar… I will speak in riddles…
remember Gandalf’s words to Pippin in Minas Tirith :
Pippin: Is there any hope, Gandalf […]?
Gandalf: There never was much hope. Just a fool’s hope.but Sauron was defeated nonetheless
September 20, 2011 at 5:04 am #20306This is good news!!! And as I hoped. Now it will be up to us to create this project responsibly and to keep any vignette we come to posess as a collecting piece, never to be sold.
September 20, 2011 at 7:50 am #20308I assured the Man I would personnaly be in control over all the logistic steps of this project
so now I’ll begin writing up some synthesis of the project this week endSeptember 20, 2011 at 8:41 am #20309First step shall be to provide to MAster Turambar all information about each character miniature, so that he can draw an initial sketech on the full vignette.
September 20, 2011 at 9:31 am #20310the first step is to establish which figurine for each participant, we have the list of participants, we still miss the full list of what figurine for each participant…
and for each of them, a general idea of the conversion to be performed on itall the info should then indeed be gathered so that the “architect” would draw concept art of the diorama.
then it requires the “Crafters” to operate the conversions. The “Makers” to create the moulds and the “Casters” to use those moulds (makers and casters could be the same) , the result should then be sent to the “Builder” for diorama making

I can be the Builder if everythng is to be achieved in France meaning diorama goes to Gildor. -
