The figure still is in process of being moulded.
It will look like that:[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_imrahil_assembled.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_imrahil_assembled.jpg[/imgz]

March 5, 2008 at 5:33 pm #1620I would like to pass on some information about it. For those who are interested.
Last year (2007) I decided to comission a new MX, as I do like my Mithrils. It was clear to me that it has to be a personality, mounted. Before that I was in contact with one of our friends about an MX idea. He also preferred a rider and suggested an advancing Gondorian with a sword pointing forwards with the outstretched right arm to lead an attack. In those days I was considering a rearing horse, but more vertical in its pose, mounting much more higher than the one in the MV420 vignette. I was focused on one of those horses of the old Elastolin-Hausser series of Normans. Oh, by the way, one of those figures made up the basic idea for “Frumgar” (who never became a what we now call a ‘cover version’ as it was simply used to illustrate Chris what the idea was about).
So last year I contacted Chris about a new MX. By then I was decided to submission for having a nice Christmas-present for myself. (Well, I always do that. You know, you never can be sure of what other people are willing to give you … or if there will be gifts at all … so you have to be sure. And the only person I can rely upon is me. – As for those of you who might regard this attitude as being too much selfish I would like to remind you of my what some of you might call a Hobbit-like character, that means to give presents on your birthday, not to take presents.)Well, back to that Imrahil. I suggested ideas to Chris and he gave advice. The only thing we agreed was that a mounted figure always sells well. Alas, I wasn’t considering such aspects those days. The figure of that Gondorian rider could have been given a name I suppose. But I think that it would be too closely associated with the scene in the movie. And to be honest, I think I forgot to tell him about that rearing horse.
So all was in vain, I thought.
I left several weeks pass trying to find a new idea I could do on my own without upsetting others I was in contact with about further MX-plans.
I tried to remember what I liked most reading the LotR the first time (sic). It was about the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. When all that danger was swept away, wave by wave, from Minas Tirith. As I always was fascinated by valiant knights since childhood the Swan Knights and Imrahil were in my mind. So there’s a hero who has to see a Mithril-light. Only the Christmas Figure of the year 2000 gave him shape so far (though rather being a bit, well… stiff. There’s no Imrahil in any regular or MS-release so far. That’s what I wondered.
Of course an MX has to represent an important character of Tolkien’s works. (just imagine “advancing orc with spear” as an MX-figure)So I contacted Chris again about this idea adding some ideas of my own about pose, garment and situation. I was thinking about Imrahil, after the battle at the Pelennor Fields, greeting holding up the standard of the ‘Swan Knights’… but obviously battle-worn.
The reaction was based on coincidence. He was about finishing the “Swan Knights” in those days.
He told me that he was very much interested to have a “good opportunity for an interesting character study”. He sent me a picture of those “Dol Amroth” series (I cannot provide, sorry … as all of that series is still “under wraps”).
But that way he offered me to consider details of armour, signs, shape of helmets, etc.
Of course the MX-Imrahil has to fit with the further “Swan-Knight” release. But do believe me, they’re superb!
So the standard Imrahil is holding up for greeting is the same as the one of the standard-bearer of the ‘Swan Knights’ – just a bit torn by then … the shield shows slashes and the helmet is dented … the hair, being relieved of the helmet, is “somewhat bedraggled”.
I could mention more details we discussed … about the base of the figure, etc. (e.g. some slain orcs or suchwise).
No, I will not strain your patience reading this.
If you like, I could give away further details about this MX … just contact me or ask right away.At the Ent I would like to stress something:
I do not regard these last entries of mine … wherever they were, here or at the Pony as merchandising my Imrhahil. I also do not like me to be regarded here as kind of self-representation. Having a look at my entries here I can imagine someone’s thinking like that …it is not my intention … rhuuooommmmmm.
March 5, 2008 at 6:29 pm #1621Well actually Theobald you have the same way of thinking as me… And honestly this Imrahil is and will be, according to me, and so far, the best MX released ever! Honestly a great piece!
There is something I envy you… I have written to Chris Tubb at least a dozen times in the past months, to ask him for news, for info, for pictures, indeed i told him to take time to answer… as I know he is busy… but as he used to be elusive in our former mail exchanges…. These past months, he has simply been silent to all my inquiries and that worries/upsets me quite a bit, as these inquiries I made of him are but repetitions of former inquiries I have made him several times for some years now…. mainly pictures
I know you can’t reveal anything on the forthcoming knights of dol-amroth but there is something maybe you can tell… is the whole series about Mounted figurines or are there any single unmounted figurines in the set?
March 5, 2008 at 7:54 pm #1625Well … what could I tell ? … First of all the Man is well … again.
It’s not me to broadcast anything private about Chris. I’ll never do, as you Gildor, will understand. So he’s well and, as me seems at his best again.
Huoommm … I forgot to thank you for the compliment, Master Gildor …. hom
But in spite of all that you do not have to envy me … rhuoomm … about that what you call contact … rhuoommm ….. hom .. you know what I mean …. rhuoomm … I do remember our problems about getting pictures of … huoommm … well, you know what wingilot etc. and othersandso on. … .hm. <-- inserted 'O' .... alas ... typing .. ah, by the way, did I mention that MX-Imrahil will definitely be released before the “Swan Knights”- regular M-release will be available … did I ? Well, he (Chris) thought this figure to be worth to open the release of the Dol Amroth Knights … so I did agree and felt being too much complimented by that …
well, the standard is new among Mithril-ranges … as are those knights … those hasty people from Dol Amroth came … rhuoommm … by ship? … no. rhuoomm … travelling in lines … huoommm … massing up co-ordinated to watch the enemy win … nonetheless … they had to haste … horsed … rhuoommm … so they are … another wedge into the masses of Mordor … as the Rohirrim did from the other side … huoommm … then there was the MS417 in between …
So the turn of the head of Imrahil in that pose might even respond to that vignette.
What you wanted to know, Gildor, they’re all on horse, meseems ….
You know that some Ents have to consider what to say or what to do …
rhuoouummmm …..March 5, 2008 at 11:57 pm #1628Be assured that if your proposition about offering me one of the 30 first Imrahil still stands, I will nonetheless buy one from Mithril as I really like this figurine but damn… I will soon begin to miss place to display my figurines again…
by the way, pics of vingilot… well indeed that would be interesting but it is about the1989 and 1991 christmas that I have been desperatly trying to get pics these are not prototypes… these are promotional and though unfindable, they are “public” and should have a chance to be displayed online… the same way they are displayed in this figurine museum in Spain ‘juegos senza frontera”… who have both of them but never paid any attention to my mails either to send me pics
As you can see.. I have been doing intensive research but alas…
March 25, 2008 at 11:54 pm #1794I hope you may enjoy the figure as I do … then I hope I got it right with the number of castings and the price … affordable but limited as it is an MX … to find information about that figure you might re-read what I published March 5th …
May 1, 2008 at 9:23 am #2063I just want to let you know that he does exist …

May 1, 2008 at 2:09 pm #2070Wow. Yes, he’s quite something! I don’t imagine we’ll ever see many (any?) of them come up on eBay.
May 1, 2008 at 2:24 pm #2072Maybee in 40 to 50 years, when all the Mithril collectos are dead and burried.
May 1, 2008 at 2:36 pm #2073Rhuoommm … thank you, Master Barliman.
I think I told before that they will not be sold. My idea simply was to have something special to give to some people here who have been interested in Mithril miniatures for many years … as you are, Master Barliman … and no one could deny this.
Then I will keep the variant away from those people trying to make a profit out of it … rhuoommm …
>no names mentioned here<
The variant was always meant as a gift … though it took some months to develop … huoommm.
So to cut it short … I will never ever sell one of those 30. (In case there’s a tap to be payed for we have to discuss that matter seriously … as I pay in metal … so we might swap values of different weight) rhuuoommmhom ….February 17, 2009 at 11:13 am #4372picture included in Mithril Gallery “Unique & Rarities”
August 19, 2010 at 8:56 pm #11469…. I did not seen this topic before… how could I miss that !?!?!?! … but I’ve seen picture of this figures in Gallery “U&R” ….. but I’m forgot on it…. also nice little story about great figure….
