November 3, 2011 at 12:12 pm #21373This is really astonishing painting Master Elroi !
Except for plastic bases which are not genuine mithril stuff (still very well executed, but I’m a purist) , Mithril’s web site should rely on such talented painter for promotional events.
Did you try to propose your skills to the company ?November 3, 2011 at 12:39 pm #21374Mmm, I have never thought before in that possibility (after all, I´m not a professional painter, it´s just my hobby), but it´s an interesting idea. How should I contact with them? and more important, what could I exactly say? I don´t want money for my paintwork…. maybe new releases miniatures or old ones to complete colections? I really don´t know how does it works.
I use plastic bases because I don´t like asymmetrical ones (like the mithril originals), for personal and aesthetic reasons only (but I understand you, the purists )
And thanks a lot for the words, Master Milo
November 3, 2011 at 12:47 pm #21376the perfect way to paint mithril minis, i’m jealous … ¡muy impresionante!
November 3, 2011 at 12:48 pm #21377Great painting! Very impressive. Love the walking dead. I wonder if it would be possible to apply some (rusty) patches on the chainmail. I’ve never done that, but I’m sure with your skills it would come up great! 😎
November 3, 2011 at 1:05 pm #21379Once again incredible work Master Elroi… !

Mail sent.
November 3, 2011 at 2:01 pm #21383Master Thingol, Master of Languages and Master Caster, thanks a lot. I´ll apply some rusty effects to the chainmail, I agree it will be a nice detail.
I´m very happy painting mithril miniatures and sharing them here. In my spanish forum, most people are used to modern and heavily detailed miniatures (not only GW but other different fantasy ones) and dislike of mithril ones, so don´t understand why I´m now painting that “ugly” miniatures
Maybe the nostalgia (they were my very firsts miniatures 20 years ago) is more important than I like to admit, but I really think that the quality of the mithril stuff is very high (and exists other factors, like the fidelity to Tolkien world).
Master Milo, received and read, thanks a lot!!!
November 4, 2011 at 1:31 pm #21410The walking dead, with some rusty effects on the chainmail (in honor of Master Caster hsf62), and a little freehand in the cloak

Don´t hesitate to suggest me improves like that on the miniatures, please
November 4, 2011 at 2:18 pm #21411Much nicer indeed ! clap clap
November 4, 2011 at 8:55 pm #21413Absolutely.
Since I gave my orcs a rusty effect, they do look much better . . .November 5, 2011 at 3:30 am #21418Those are masterpieces, Master Elroi!!! Excellent job!
November 5, 2011 at 4:03 pm #21433Now that looks more like the real deal! After all what dead person would polish his armour?:lol:
A figure can be very plain, the paint makes all the difference!
Great work!November 5, 2011 at 6:49 pm #21442It is certainly a style of painting that I admireMaster Elroi, and the little touches like the rust only add to that opinion

November 11, 2011 at 12:47 pm #21562And before the weekend, another undead, but this time an underwater one:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/593_m_250.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/593_m_250.jpg[/imgz]
I tried to simmulate (with blue tones and acquatic plants the effect of being in the bottom of a lake)
More views here:
