January 11, 2012 at 12:15 pm #22620King Thrain is incredible !
The jewel on belt is just perfectly highlighted. I did not notice before there were so many details on this dwarf. The card player is as always, more than very well painted and it is a great preview of what will done at the end…

January 11, 2012 at 12:24 pm #22623Really impressive :D. Colors and perfection of the shadows: which mastery
As Milo said, it would be very nice if you could show us how to paint faces with so many detailsJanuary 11, 2012 at 12:55 pm #22625Thanks a lot!

Mistress Sevlag, as son as possible, i´ll try to do a step by step article, with lot of pictures, of to paint mithril faces

King Thrain is marvellous. An interesting colour choice. Never have green in mind for a dwarven king.
I like Thrain very very much. But the tavern is on my focus.I want to be critical to you, Roi, ! Because I know you will understand what I mean, without any reason to offend you. 😎
I think, there are a bit too many colours on the cardplayers skinn. Though the “dusty character” on his trousers is really terrific!
The tavern itself has got the right proportion, not too big, not too small. The right size!So I am really looking forward this project!
January 11, 2012 at 4:46 pm #22630Maybe colored skin is due to scrumpy we all know very well ? 😆
January 11, 2012 at 10:49 pm #22634Most excellent work, as ever there is something ‘magical’ about the colour choice and application of all these new works . The Pony will be a masterpiece when finally populated, but a word of warning – Barli might not like patrons sitting on the bar! 😆

Please, don´t hesitate to criticize anything you see, because it´s the best way for me to learn and correct things.
I like to use lot of colours and tones in my miniatures, and in this case i think it will give more emphasis to them, in the environment of the tavern (wich is less colorful). Maybe with more miniatures painted on the scene, the result will be not so “agressive”.
Anyway, you´re right, maybe his skin should be a bit more pale (but Milo´s scrumpy theory is very good also )
Master Daines, M387 Barliman is perfect to represent him scolding such rude customer
January 12, 2012 at 3:55 pm #22642If it is a sexy woman sitting on the bar, then I think that Barli might not mind!

Yes, you are quite right 😆
January 12, 2012 at 8:39 pm #22649No you’re not! – anyway, I’ve always objected to that rendition of my appearance. Doesn’t look anything like me, and I’ve told The Man so. Still, it allows me to remain anonymous. I coiuld walk down your street any time I please, and none of you would think of asking me for a drink or a pie.
January 13, 2012 at 1:02 pm #22653Upss, sorry, Master Barliman!
Better i say that the pose (but of course not the apperance) of [mith]M387[/mith] Barliman is perfect to represent him scolding such rude customer
And as i´m very close to get [mith]M120[/mith], i´ll replace the cardplayer seated on the bar by the lute player. And the sexy girl will be next to the seated cardplayers. And barliman will be scolding to the pair of drunken and singing men [mith]M121[/mith]
January 13, 2012 at 1:03 pm #22654And Master Milo, a telefonic call infolrmed me that the parcel arrived perfectly safe. In a few days i´ll start the paintjob, thanks!!
January 13, 2012 at 2:56 pm #22657Great ! I hope you win your needed auctions.

Very nice, are you using oil or acrylic colors?
