The two photos on the left I think are of a Black Kite (I don´t know if I write well in English…..)
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milvus_migrans
The right one is a short-toed eagle. Sure. I like birds of prey …..
However, as mentioned Master Milo, it has some pretty colors. By having the gray head contrasts with the rest of the body …..
July 29, 2011 at 1:27 pm #19003Huomm … whatever names them birds of prey are given in whatever language … wonderful paint-job indeed … though the diorama in the second picture doesn’t really please me at all

September 5, 2011 at 11:28 am #20131As my orginal idea is finisihed, I went this morning on a special place (much higher than my hill) to take pictures.
I am currently gathering it and hopefully, you’ll see new topic “The carroc” opening today.Of course, once Nori is at my home, I will paint him and add new pictures. Don’t sress Holger, I need a break after this painting session.

Aha, you are right! I have met nearly all birds of pray in the old continent in this past 4 years. I will try to upload some of my own pictures of wild specimens for inspiration…. I dont like very much falconry though…
April 1, 2013 at 2:57 pm #27423Today, I acheived my 1st mithril painting using Non-Metallic Metal technique.
Not completely satisfied by precision but I quite like the rendering.
So I added few pictures of it in my gallery.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/553_ms575-1.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/553_ms575-1.jpg[/imgz]

Any advice for improvement is welcome.
April 1, 2013 at 3:27 pm #27424Nicely painted Mauhur!
April 1, 2013 at 6:23 pm #27425Good Job!
April 1, 2013 at 10:40 pm #27426Very nice colours indeed, Master Milo. – But what is a “non-metal metal colour” ? This leaves me a bit puzzled.
April 2, 2013 at 11:13 am #27428Thanks for kind words.
NMM technique is a painting technique where you never use classic metallic paint colors (iron, silver, gold, bronze,…).To obtain metallic effects you use only color tones.
For instance, for iron, you apply many layers from black to white using greys between (look Mauhur cimetar for instance). This is much longer but allows much more shadowing on metallic parts. So this was my 1st try and I feel I will keep on going.
April 2, 2013 at 5:56 pm #27429If this was your first try Master Milo I look forward to seeing how you improve with practice – the technique you have applied looks very effective
April 2, 2013 at 8:43 pm #27430Very nice work Master Milo… interesting painting technique…
April 7, 2013 at 7:40 pm #27479Hi everyone,
While celebration for my mithril collection and Ori’s birthday is on-going, I took some pictures of my collection display as requested by Master Mornedhel.
Here is full display:

[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/553_055.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/553_055.jpg[/imgz](very hard to obtain detailed images. So please forgive very poor quality of images.)
I thought it would be fun to propose a riddle but unfortunately poor images do not allow to play…
Here was my riddle:
I have very few references (around a dozen regular ones) which are not settled yet in glass cabinets. I let you try to find out which ones. 😎April 7, 2013 at 8:06 pm #27482…. hmm… nice…. hmm.. great… hm…. fine to see…. even in those tiny perspective my figures are all in on one cabinet and I have a plan to buy another glass shelf, to have a little more visible collection …
April 8, 2013 at 7:45 am #27484Ufff, years of painting work ahead of you, Master Milo.
