Today I am the happiest person around I think…
I received a special figurine … which I have been looking for, for YEARS…
So far I only know three people who possess one, Ken Crawford, a special collector from the US named Bill Pritchard (who got it
from Jim Corless years ago)… and myselfIndeed this is a priceless figurine, but I am amazed about the level of DETAIL it has, no other 54mm evern (christmas or LO) has reached such a level of sculpted decoration detail! also the weight is heavier than regular casts, it is a prototype, the metal used is not the same alloy. You can feel it in your hands… (like the [mith]54Proto2[/mith] [mith]54Proto3[/mith] and [mith]54Proto4[/mith])
new pics of [mith]54Proto1[/mith] here :

October 19, 2011 at 8:04 pm #20942W H A T A F I G U R E !
How I adore this socket!
How I adore this deatailed miniature!
You are a lucky man, Master Gildor, no doubt!October 19, 2011 at 9:46 pm #20949I’m afraid to ask how much does it cost such a mithril collectors treasure…. ! Congratulation Master Gildor Indeed !
October 19, 2011 at 9:52 pm #20951It has no price master Thingol … I really can’t put a price on this treasure, this is technically impossible… but negociations had begun around 500€ for it I think and those negociations never ended as I got it from elsewhere, and the original seller was, no matter the price, reluctant to give his away….
I don’t know how much Kenakko paid for it, but I think it was a gift… I know Jim Corless may have got it as a gift but may have sold it to Bill Pritchard for some hundreds of dollars back in 2000 or so… before “tolkien mania”…
as for mine… I got it by pure luck, as it was a gift too…
October 19, 2011 at 10:00 pm #20956Mighty gift Indeed
October 19, 2011 at 10:01 pm #20957I am happy for you Gildor. Your passion for CT work deserves this award…. !!!!!
October 19, 2011 at 10:23 pm #20962my most sincere congratulations, Gildor. You have a really nice jewel in your hands.
October 20, 2011 at 12:35 pm #20977Master Gildor, could you do us a favor and show All 4 54mm 1992 Protoypes alltogether on the same picture ?
October 20, 2011 at 2:44 pm #20980Gildor, all I can say reall is: “You deserve to hold that figure in your hand.”
October 20, 2011 at 3:55 pm #20984holding it in my hands is currently the only thing i can do alas… the base being apart, and the rarity of the figurine make it so that I do not dare to glue it together to display it in a glasscase
ironic isn’t it…
as for all the 1992 figurines…. well I miss some … especially the [mith]ME2[/mith] Milo… you mean the four 54mm prototypes I have?
October 20, 2011 at 4:47 pm #20986Just calm down, Gildor … there’ll come a day when your fingers will have ceased to tremble and then you can cope with it accordingly … for the moment, just enjoy

Having these with Saruman must be something !October 20, 2011 at 7:25 pm #20992Gildor Inglorion wrote:holding it in my hands is currently the only thing i can do alas… the base being apart, and the rarity of the figurine make it so that I do not dare to glue it together to display it in a glasscaseironic isn’t it…
Instead of glue, just use ‘patafix’ ! 😆
October 20, 2011 at 7:39 pm #20994too heavy really too heavy
October 20, 2011 at 7:40 pm #20995Congratulations, Master Gildor! That figure is really beautiful. The pose reminds me of Moses descending from Mount Sinai…..
October 21, 2011 at 2:45 pm #21061Actually, I picked this up (in resin, not metal) this last weekend. Jim has sold Time Machine and the new owner had a few cast just for fun. Of course there is no danger of mistaking it for the metal version. And it is quite a nice figure. Because it’s only a resin version (which = place holder in the collection with no real value), I just might paint it one of these days.
October 21, 2011 at 2:58 pm #21063you mean this saruman exists in resin from time machines? whithout being called saruman indeed…
I wonder where the new owner got his master from… casting it in resin requires having an original…. (I also wonder what Chris may think about this
