August 10, 2009 at 4:40 pm #6369Sorry, but I’m in a hurry. But just to prove that what I mentioned in the Prancing Pony is not a joke I quickly took some pics. I know about the bad quality, and believe me, I will hang up better pics on these walls here as soon as possible. There will be more details to be seen, this is just to give you an impression of what I was talking about in the Pony.

August 10, 2009 at 6:06 pm #6376I’m appalled by how tidy your work area is, Master Tree – mine looks more like a rubbish tip! – admittedly an artistic rubbish tip, but untidy nonetheless. If Mrs B ever sees how tidy you are she’ll stop believing all the excuses I make about how difficult it is to be tidy in this hobby.
Very nice figures though!
August 10, 2009 at 6:19 pm #6377Well, Gildor, as I stated before I did not produce this army. Though I can try to find out to answer your query. Many figures are based on the M276 and the M278 (especially the heads and helmets). The shields of the infantry are those of the M276. The officer is B6 from the ‘Gondorian Army’-set (He’s not to be seen in those pics). So far I didn’t have the time to find out about all the other parts being used for this army and I’m not sure if I can find it out on my own.
What I know is that this Númenorian Army was created for the “First Mithril Gathering” in Lancaster PA. in the spring of 2000. This contingent of Númenorians was part of the “Last Alliance Game”.
That’s all I can tell at the moment.August 10, 2009 at 10:15 pm #6386AH-HA !!!!
At last, pictures from the Tree´s work! I am a lucky man experiencing this. Quiete unique this is. But very welcome also!
Nice conversions to find, nice shield designs also.
Concerning work-areas and workbenches: I have to confess, that your workbench fulfills my expectations, Master Theobald .August 10, 2009 at 10:51 pm #6390IT’S NOT MY WORK … IT’S NOT MY WORK … I just assembled a bit … but IT’S NOT MY Work …
Don’t you understand?
I didn’t do this. I’m just providing and I think this has to be shared.
Though I’m proud to have all of them here … need a new glass-cabinet by now ….
rhuoommm .. as for workbenches I’ve got three of them … rhuoommm … the one you see is the tidiest of them … huoommmrhuoommmAugust 11, 2009 at 1:02 am #6391Nice army you have there Master Tree! If I was an orc and these guys stood in front of me, I would run away!
Who ever gave these to you was very nice indeed!August 11, 2009 at 7:24 am #6394Very nice Theo, they certainly belong in a nice show-case.
August 11, 2009 at 7:25 am #6395WOOHHAA!
I like what I see!August 11, 2009 at 10:17 am #6401It isn´t ?!
YOU DID NOT PRODUCE THIS ARMY!
O.K.Master Tree, I think I understand. You said it three times and this is enough.
Seems that I was sooo upset about “your work” that I missed reading the little words somewhere hidden . . .
You will need a new glass cabinet, that´s for sure!August 11, 2009 at 9:04 pm #6408Yes very impressed (by the army, and not the tidiness of the work space ) a fine collection that you have acquired there Master Tree.
Now I shall have to tidy the pile of s***** that is my work space
August 14, 2009 at 4:38 am #6425Hey Master tree, did you come by these wonderful figs by a certain Istari named Lance Reinhold??
Quite creative that fellow. He clued me in to using the foil that seals the tops of wine bottles for flags and standards and such. Much cheaper than the commercial lead foil and I certainly have plenty of it around!
August 16, 2009 at 12:39 pm #6447No, Presto they’re not from Mr Reinhold (I don’t even know him). I will reveil the origin as soon as I have taken appropriate pictures to provide here. But at the moment … I have to be too busy with so many other matters. So it might take some time. Sorry.
August 16, 2009 at 9:57 pm #6467Well, now I can tell that I received that army from Jim Corless. He painted the figures himself(!). But, as you can imagine, I had to ask him first if I am allowed to give away his name in connection with this matter.
This army was created for the “First Mithril Gathering” in Lancaster PA. in the spring of 2000. It was one part of a “Last Alliance Game” of Mithril collectors and gamers. Jim provided this contingent of Númenorians for the game. So it’s quite unique (and even a bit of Mithril-history)and I’m very proud to host these Númenorians here now.
Most of the figures are conversions, as archers, spearmen, riders (!), standard bearer, etc.
I deeply regret that I wasn’t able to pass on the quality of the paint job he did in my pics. That’s why I need more time doing that appropriately.August 16, 2009 at 10:32 pm #6469So, Master Tree, this is a fact you really can be proud of. I made the acqaintance of Jim Corless when I ordered lots of orcs and something special.
A really fair and gentle man!
I think , YOU are the right person hosting this army! A huge bit of mithril history, I would say. -
