September 13, 2009 at 8:38 am #6843I just saw that Mr Drizt is selling a set of the dwarves as single figures for 45 € each. And again he tries to sell some of the figures of Saruman’s Army for the same price. Then there is a large number of “below 100” figures – some very interesting things among those (2 Razaracs).
September 13, 2009 at 12:18 pm #6844drizzt is back from Underdark it seems that was foreseeable
September 13, 2009 at 12:37 pm #6845I’m about sure that it was him having bought 5 Dwarven sets. Selling them as single figures means a price of at least 180 € for each set – in case they do sell for such a price.
As for the figures of ‘Saruman’s Army’ he seems to have reduced the price (as far as I can remember) and those are less figures than he offered a long time ago. Maybe he sold some in between – I don’t know. On the other hand he never offered complete sets of them and other parts he never offered (Angrenost Guard + command group). He never had all of them to offer on Ebay.
I’m still angry about this “strategy” that one person can buy as many sets of the figures offered by Chris as he wants to. But as we know this cannot be changed on Ebay. I just feel pity for those of us who were interested but were not able to log in at the right time or who were absent.
But that’s a different matter.
I think the “below 100” are very much interesting – though again one might quarrel about the price at which they’re being offered.September 14, 2009 at 2:14 pm #6865Chris has another 7 sets of dwarfs currently at ebay…
September 14, 2009 at 2:18 pm #6867Wow. Wonder why he didn’t warn anyone?
September 14, 2009 at 2:30 pm #6869Perhaps so that those who look by themself get a chance, and not those with the biggest wallet
Down to 5. I bought one for our HSF, just in case he miss them again.
September 14, 2009 at 2:32 pm #6870I just bought a set.
As I said in the Pony, anyone who wants the set, email me and I’ll sell it to you for the cost I bought it at.
Just didn’t want Drizzt or someone grabbing them.
September 14, 2009 at 2:36 pm #6871What I like about everyone round here is that you all have such generous hearts. Here’s to you all. When you come round to the Pony I’ll give you all a free drink – I only wish it could be a real one!
September 14, 2009 at 2:57 pm #6875The auction started with 9 sets and I bought number 5…
September 14, 2009 at 3:11 pm #6879Well, I like to think we are good people, who enjoyed the literary works of a very decent man, who enjoy the sculpting works of a very generous bloke who in turn works for a small and decent little company.
It lends itself well to a sense of community.
Now, I must go, for I have…something in my eye.
(Also my paint might dry – working on more of those Gondorian warband guys)
September 14, 2009 at 4:08 pm #6884So did I, Master Axel …
September 14, 2009 at 4:57 pm #6890Seems that similar interests lead to similar mindsets 😎
September 16, 2009 at 1:32 pm #6907Great minds think alike.
On ebay DE (Germany) there are nice Mithrils to find. All mint in blister. It’s worth to check it out.
September 16, 2009 at 3:16 pm #6908About those Dwarves again … it’s crazy, isn’t it? Some of us bought a second set to help other collectors. That’s it! I enjoy this very much. (that way we kept away a certain man to accumulate more sets being offered later on Ebay for a higher price – in case he was aware of this second auction, which I do not believe)
So, if anyone around here is in need of a set of those four Dwarven swordsmen, just let me know. There will be no problem.September 16, 2009 at 3:48 pm #6909Ebay.de… nice information Master Caster, I have found 3 figures I do not have… and for those dwarves I was waiting every day on our forum to find information about next possible auction, and when it was I was in Italy on business trip without possibilities to connect on web…
