A lot of sellers seem to do this – just a way of making more money, I guess. But if you want to see silly prices, just look at any sale that has to come from the US. Some American sellers charge aenough to hire a small Lear jet to deliver the goods in person.
February 12, 2012 at 3:45 pm #23099you’re absolutely right — it’s been a while since i bought anything on ebay from a seller outside europe …
i had followed the auction above because i don’t have the handbook, but then decided against bidding, because € 12 (including shipping) was too much in my opinion (and i need change to pay for drinks here, too). then i saw the relisting for € 2 and thought, “oh, good!” — until i saw the “amended” shipping costs …
when it comes to ebay, people might decide in a whim, but come on … we’re not THAT blind, now are we?
i have sent a message asking why the shipping costs were increased by € 4.00, by the way. am curious if i’ll get a reply.
February 12, 2012 at 5:01 pm #23100here’s the reply(i’m not sure that i understood the reasoning, but anyway):
“Yes, the earlier price was 6€, and now it is 1,99€. That is the reason.
Sending it is 6€ and handling in 4€, and the price is 2€, while in the previous listing the handling (putting it in an envelope and bringing it to the post office 5km far) was included in the price. The resulting price is the same than before, but the topics are better justified.”February 12, 2012 at 5:17 pm #23102i will rather not comment on this … besides, Master cameosis, we’re not that blind, are we.
and right you are too, Master Barliman. in future i’ll save some money to buy a lear-jet just to make the seller sure not to have to spend any money for p&p … though it’s charged … but, the problem is, there’s never attached any detail on Ebay about the nearest airport to the seller’s place – I will definitely not comment in public here about some US-sellers … they’ll have lawyers at hand to lay a hand on my non-leased Lear-jet … alas … about 20€ for shipment + another more some €s for package etc. for a figure worth of some dimes? … nay, never. <-- full stopFebruary 12, 2012 at 5:22 pm #23104… sorry … I forgot to mention that it was what I witnessed a few times … not referring to Master Cameosis’ problem …

February 14, 2012 at 8:44 pm #23144This one is wanted by many of us:
MINT [mith]M18[/mith] with eagle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mithril-Miniatures-M018-Sagath-Animist-Very-Rare-Lord-of-the-Rings-GW-Warhammer-/230746074947February 15, 2012 at 5:59 pm #23145This is even nicer !
M1, M15, M18, M24, M63, … all in blister.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/maddipuk/m.htmlI tried to bid on M24, no bid from france is allowed…
February 16, 2012 at 8:18 am #23146… and another 68 rare figures here http://global.ebay.com/boussduf/list/seller from France… some guy…. looks like Milo the Attic Warden
February 16, 2012 at 9:47 am #23149yes, those are Milo minis, of course
February 16, 2012 at 5:52 pm #23159I confirm these are miniatures from my attic stock. I have more to sell for later weeks. I chose to put starting price not too low as I prefer to keep a mini for myself rather than selling it for 2-5€.
I hope these starting prices are not too high. My goal is to be able to buy more MS figures and also to convince my wife that I was not that crazy to buy so many extra minis.Of course, every MMP member is welcome to place bids.
I any of you win some of my auctions, I would offer you shipping cost with great pleasure.

I lost the rohan riders auctions at 187,43€ + shipping.
I could not bid more for these 5 vintage riders. Too badFebruary 19, 2012 at 11:20 am #23182Ouch! £156 – someone must have really wanted them badly. I’d never have expected the price to rise that high.
February 19, 2012 at 11:23 am #23184I agree Barliman, but single vintage Rohan riders often reached 45€ in past year, so I guess I will have to keep my broken/repaired [mith]M26[/mith], [mith]M30[/mith] horses for a while. 😆
February 19, 2012 at 11:30 am #23185Current auction for unprimed [mith]M30[/mith] confirms high value of these rohan riders: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360433761168
I hope Imisel will get it at the end. -
