Item: 190897700525 – Mounted Halbarad
Item: 190897693652 – Mounted Imrahil
Same seller as Frumgar (bluemonkeybug)
Looks like a few other GF releases are also up for sale.
September 8, 2013 at 7:38 pm #28591Looks like bluemonkeybug must be another collector who’s giving up. Do we know him?

September 8, 2013 at 7:48 pm #28593Alternatively he could be a collector who bought a “spare” when each figure was released, and is now cashing in.
September 9, 2013 at 6:40 am #28594If so many collectors buy spare figures, then we actually are a very, very (or huge) minority in world collectors of miniatures. It is, after all, possible to see on the number that counts sales figures on mithril web site…
September 9, 2013 at 6:59 am #28595How many do buy spares, do you think? I don’t – most of the time I can barely scrape sufficient money together to buy one!
September 9, 2013 at 8:12 am #28596I do not buy spares…. I’m still waiting for occasional discounts. And since we are in the EU, I’ll wait discounts even more…
September 9, 2013 at 8:57 am #28597I only buy OOP spares when I find some not too expensive, only for future dioramas and helping other collectors.
For Miniatures which are still available, no need to haste & buy several !September 9, 2013 at 5:21 pm #28598I buy spares of the ones that I like and the ones that I want to convert. I buy as many as 6 of my own suggestions that win. I do not buy every release, just the ones that I can use for a project.
September 13, 2013 at 7:11 pm #28608Item: 221282196168 12 x Caravan guards mounted on camel, starting price £168.
I suppose, if individual units sold for a decent price a profit could be made on this lot (not that I am going to risk it .
September 13, 2013 at 9:37 pm #28609M16 went for £238 .
September 13, 2013 at 10:31 pm #28610… piece of cake
September 14, 2013 at 1:59 am #28611The guy with the 12 camels does not ship to the USA. I do not need 12 more, does anyone want to split these up?

September 14, 2013 at 7:51 am #28613it feels odd to see 16 M73 together… are we sure there is no recast?
as for the M16, $238 is approximatly 285€… which seems very high for a non mint figurine with a fake sword
considering the latest high prices for rarities, can one assume the “economical crisis” is over for figurines collectors? oO
September 14, 2013 at 7:59 am #28614Well, my economical crisis isn’t over!
I see no reason to doubt the validity of the M73s. I think this guy is just an enthusiast who bought them when they were new (wish I had!), started to assemble and paint them for a planned wargame army, and over the years simply lost interest. Hence the various finishes of the figures. He has a lot of other fascinating ‘period’ Fantasy figures up for sale, all of which date to the same era. It’s a habit of wargamers to amass quantities of figures that end up unused.
September 14, 2013 at 8:21 am #28615No thanks Troy I’m happy with my M73.. one is enough for me…. but as I can see he also do not want to send them to Croatia….

I would think the same to be honest, I just look at all the unpainted Mithrils on the shelf, not painted through a loss of interest though, just loss of time
September 14, 2013 at 10:52 am #28619same here
i still have 400 references (which includes boxed sets and vignettes…. sot that’s a lot more than 400 “figurines”) to paint….but with my three boys I completly stopped painting for some years to come now
September 14, 2013 at 11:13 am #28620Prepare for the future, Master Gildor – as soon as their little fingers can hold a brush, teach them to paint figures!
