Well, eBay is supposed to display (and in my experience always has displayed) the actual shipping price – absurd “Global Postage Programme” prices excepted (I always steer well clear of sellers applying those).
August 7, 2014 at 3:15 pm #31033now we’re talking … here’s what he had in mind:
August 7, 2014 at 4:44 pm #31037Only $270 odd import fees!!
August 7, 2014 at 4:58 pm #31041Plus VAT at 20%….
August 8, 2014 at 4:26 pm #31067I should check how many non CT minis I have to put on ebay as a big lot. It could be around 3 or 4 hundreds….
August 8, 2014 at 4:49 pm #31068Such big lots must only earn a fraction of what they’re really worth. Why does anyone sell them this way?
August 8, 2014 at 5:58 pm #31070because the individual fees eat up a lot of your profit if you list them piece by piece. ebay uk takes 35 pence for every article that you list after the first 20, which are free.
August 8, 2014 at 6:04 pm #31072But the fact remains that they’ll make less than their individual worth, and on top of that automatically become less saleable simply because the necessary outlay of cash is so great that it will deter many buyers.
August 8, 2014 at 6:14 pm #31073I sold individuals, and you are both right:
Master cameosis about fees. Don’t forget also paypal fees.
Master Barliman as it’s true you get much more money selling one by one. Here are few things I consider for making my choices:
– Do I value these minis ? Can I ID these easilly ?
– Do I have enough spare time for builduing auctions, manage invoices, payments, packaging, posting and at the end feedback ?
– Do I need cash or is it space I need?So far, spare time drove my decision.

the other thing is that you can never be sure how much any given miniature will generate, because the target group consists of collectors. just look at the recent instances listed here and the respective price spans. i’ve sold some 400 to 500 non mithril minis so far (citadel, grenadier, ral partha etc), and a lot of them went for 99 p or 1 to 2 £ … sometimes, it’s not the same buyer, but several buyers who purchase a single miniature.
then, you have the ebay fees, the paypal fees, the waiting until the funds are released and effectively, the mini sold for 50 p or less … and that was before they introduced the 35 p fee per listing (effective from august, 2014). higher starting prices mean higher fees and there’s no guarantee that the item will sell. there is a significant increase in bin offers, from private sellers, too. ebay wants to make individual listing unattractive. listing as a lot is a viable option in that regard.

September 21, 2014 at 7:45 pm #31216September 21, 2014 at 8:50 pm #31220The figure seems to be in a good condition. -BUT: The sword definitely is a wrong one.
September 21, 2014 at 9:09 pm #31221Just try to prove what I said before I’d like to show two pics of the M16 I bought directly from Chris Tubb quite a long time ago. Maybe this can be of some help as it shows the figure with the original sword still attached to the base. – Well, I now see that I should take some new and better pics of the Lady. (Didn’t Gildor provide my pics in the Database once? -I’ll have to check)

… wishing all who want to a good bidding … as 256 GBP for the latest one being sold was a bit much for an uncomplete M16, I think.
September 21, 2014 at 9:15 pm #31222Not only incomplete, but if you look closely you can see that the infamous crack has already started to appear above her left ankle…
September 21, 2014 at 9:17 pm #31223…see the clear, thin black line on the rear view. That’s precisely where mine broke last year.
September 21, 2014 at 9:37 pm #31225I cannot see that crack at my figure. Above the left ankle? I’ll have to check that tomorrow.
September 22, 2014 at 7:21 am #31226I hope you don’t find it!
