A mere pittance.
November 15, 2017 at 6:17 pm #36591$500 ??? damnit?? as others from beyond the pond would say “wtf??”
For this price, is it the “special version” ? with the additional table? pictures indicate it is but …
it seems this is a collector (maybe one among us?) who is selling quite a collection, an incomplete M16 is for sale among other things
November 16, 2017 at 1:11 am #36592Well, I just had a closer look: No, Master Gildor, that set definitely is not one of those 30 extra castings with a third table. You can imagine that I know about that. The given location of the seller does not tell me that I once sent an MX-UP over there.
So, it must be a set in extremely good condition bought from Mithril.
I have never seen an official set, but having had a closer look at the pics provided by the seller I saw that at the sprue of the tables there’s one dead end. That’s exactly where the “third table” has its place.Well, it’s the first time an MX-UP is ever offered … so, 500 GBP for a set in best and original condition might be a start. – Don’t forget that there are 15 MX-figures (having a dear price to produce) + some furniture and a massive base are also part of the set.
I’m still proud having started and realized that MX with the very help of Chris Tubb and support by Lars Edman.
November 16, 2017 at 7:32 am #36595From my ebay records, only 1 MIB MX535 ever came on ebay. It was sold for 245,69 €. And No one ever sold the treasure variant for sure.
My guess about seller is Quendil, from UK, who used to be on MMP and told on GF he was selling his Mithril Collection.
November 16, 2017 at 10:43 am #36599good catch master Milo, maybe it’s him indeed. Still I think that £500 is quite high for a price but well this is not the selling price that’s the “buy it now” displayed price… that’s different. It would be interesting to see if there are offers on it, how much it goes…
November 16, 2017 at 1:36 pm #36602If sold via an offer, I will contact Master quendil to him how much he obtained for this marvel.
November 17, 2017 at 1:08 am #36611I’ve purchased quite a few figures from Master quendil over the last year and he did have one he offered me but it was not the variant version. Another of the fine folks here helped me obtain a variant MX535 and for a much smaller price than the one there on ebay.

I think as Milo says, he used to be a member here and I believe he left after a bit of a ‘tantrum’ was thrown (I think there was a disagreement with another member – no names, no pack-drills as we say in Bree, but the member hasn’t been around for a while ), and yes, Quendil is UK based. I seem to remember Master Gildor mentioning that he had requested all posts to be deleted, obviously a sensitive soul .
As for your records of where these were sent Master Tree, I was sent a second UP from Mithril in error, but returned it to Joan, so I guess if one was sent out in error another could have easily been sent.
November 17, 2017 at 8:12 pm #36624oh well now I remember this story about David (Quendil) back in 2012 about a problem concerning an ebay auction actually… I won’t name people around but i exchanged with him he was a great collector and member around here, a pity he left us because of a dispute with another member… but well life is life

December 20, 2017 at 7:28 pm #36764December 20, 2017 at 10:32 pm #36765But that much as a starting price (you can’t say the figure is complete) …
December 21, 2017 at 8:06 pm #36766M16 but with the worst thing that could happen, which does not make it even worth its starting price according to me :
the sword is not only broken, but glued in the hand and broken at the hilt. a pity
I know the m16 sword to be very unique in its design mostly about hilt, sword blade are almost all the same, but still…

I glued the sword into my M16’s hand…
December 22, 2017 at 5:25 pm #36773well yes mindx2 but do you intend to sell your M16?
what I mean is : if you think about selling or at least keeping a “flawless” collector value to your figurine, gluing parts together is not recommended as it “flaws” the figurines and dramatically reduces its value, painting it afterwards reduces it even more (except for not-so-rare figurines, painted by an official and reknown painter in which cases it increases the value)
I don’t say this M16 on ebay is worthless, not at all, I just say than for its “face value”, it is clearly not work 150€…. maybe 100 at best?

Perish the thought my friend! I feel very blessed to have acquired a complete version as quickly as I did when I first started collecting. These figures certainly represent more to me than just monetary value as it clearly does to all here as well.
December 23, 2017 at 2:46 pm #36775… indeed …
December 23, 2017 at 10:56 pm #36782true indeed true indeed. I must consider myself blessed to have three of of them. One of which being pristine mint in blister, and which won’t be touched, the other one already painted, but as a variant with a standard in its hand, and the last one being unpainted yet and with a sword replica alas, but which I’ll be able to paint eventually when time allows.

December 28, 2017 at 4:37 pm #36794Master Thingol, what do you mean with you only have one?
