Hmm, or hommmmmm in foreign tongue… I was able to confirm that an antique finish version is currently available at the Houses of Mithril. Probably the auction discussed is offering this one. A mystery remains if the one under custody of Master Ent is somehow different from those.
September 25, 2008 at 5:05 pm #3246I will find out about all these matters soon, protozeus
September 25, 2008 at 5:12 pm #3247Well, as for a pic of an unpainted MA1 I just have the one here on which the design is slightly different (concerning base and garment). It’s the Galadriel Christmas figure.

September 25, 2008 at 5:13 pm #3248I have watched from afar with awe – how you carried her away in front of the dark hordes, with entish strides! Perhaps you could also save one of her younger sisters from the Houses of Mithril.
September 25, 2008 at 5:17 pm #3249the one we are talking about is the antiqued-version that is a bit rare
here’s a pic[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_christmas_figure_1992_-_galadriel_.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_christmas_figure_1992_-_galadriel_.jpg[/imgz]
September 25, 2008 at 5:25 pm #3250I hope you know klicking on the pics here reveals a very much better quality of the pics …
Alas, protozeus, what do you mean saying that I carried her away from the dark hordes … There’s a simple answer to that. I had to. So I did. Not for me, by the way.September 25, 2008 at 6:40 pm #3251…what do you refer to what you called her “younger sisters”?
… what are the “Houses of Mithril”?
… what are Entish strides?
… who are the ‘dark hordes’?
Please contact me directly, but not without explaining why you chose the prosyllable “proto”.
September 26, 2008 at 3:00 pm #3258Answered most of those riddles. For the record, I have found a picture of an unpainted, primed MA1:

September 26, 2008 at 6:34 pm #3263Very close , protozeus. But the one I was referring to is:

September 26, 2008 at 6:52 pm #3264Thank you for answering, protozeus … as I think the Galadriel matter has been extended here too much it should furtheron be discussed at “The Mathom House”. I will provide a thread for that, as I’m keen to learn anything about Galadriel-figures.
September 27, 2008 at 12:06 pm #3282Item number: 110290724463
A French seller Menendil has the Witch-King figure from the online game on ebay. Approx 19 hours to go.
September 27, 2008 at 5:05 pm #3285I wonder if this figurine is worth something… I doubt it is very expensive I’ll see that…
September 29, 2008 at 9:42 am #3296Just some last remark on the discussed Galadriel MA-1 auction in this thread. It seems that Master Theobald’s intuition was fully justified (to bid on the antique MA-1).
I test-ordered a new one from Mithril, and got an antique-finish LO-10 today. Looks nice, too, but they told me now (after asking twice) that the original MA-1 has sold out (be it grey or antique).
[ Just for the record, so that no one gets confused by my earlier assumptions. Further discussion best in the Galadriel thread in the Mathom House. ]
September 29, 2008 at 9:57 am #3297You didn’t cause any harm, Master Protozeus. I just felt sure about the origin of that Lady offered on Ebay. You know that Ents tend to consider thoroughly before they take a decision or even start discussing matters …. unless they decided to spread rumours, but the place to provide rumours is a place called ‘The Prancing Pony’
October 6, 2008 at 7:26 pm #3376Item number: 140273097023 includes the early mounted Witch King M3 (although the horse has had its base removed 😡 )
October 19, 2008 at 9:53 am #3446I just want to let you know that I was right about that MA1 (antique finish). As I received her I was able to find out definitely. She was nr 6. So it was a bargain.
November 2, 2008 at 1:36 pm #3527There are five nice figures out on Ebay at the moment, offered by The Man (which means perfect condition). I wonder what that old M4 will go for ….
February 8, 2009 at 11:33 am #4323Hey, Wendy. There’s an M3 on Ebay at the moment. Seems to be in best condition. Offered by an Australian. So you wouldn’t have to sculpt the head yourself
February 9, 2009 at 4:41 pm #4324Well the ending of Master Groovecrown’s auction yesterday shows that Mw347 ‘spearmen’ (ahem. ‘pikemen’, as the Tree has quite rightly pointed out) aren’t the price they used to be – all four for somewhat over £120 seems a not unreasonable price – though it’s certainly more than I’d want to pay.
The ‘spear’/’pike’ issue is an interesting one – to be honest, the short weapons that these dudes are holding are indeed spears, regardless of what Chris decided to call them; pikes generally had shafts of 12ft or more (occasionally even 20-30ft!); but that would make for one highly fragile piece of lead, and would bend at every opportunity – which is why wargame figure manufacturers tend to supply separate wire pikes.
February 9, 2009 at 7:27 pm #4325I have the head. I just have to resculpt where it would connect. Whoever took the head off was, shall we say, less than gentle and lacked the proper tool. It’s a down the road kind of project. I’m quite happy with the condition of the horse though.
