Well, about insurances there always are two sides.
– The first one is a fact. Your personal insurance manager will be willing to give you a certain discount on insuring your collection. That means you have to spend money on that regularly.
– Second is, well … imagine … a flash of lightning decides to meet your home and melts down all of your collection … errmm … and yourself, of course . Then there’s trouble. The miniatures cannot be replaced, of course … err … same for you … So what? – That means someone else, who was lucky not being hit by that unexpected flash, has to claim some money for the by now gone collection. First of all, he/she has to prove her/his existance and asked to give reasons to explain why he/she wasn’t hit though everything else went broken. – Hmmm … then you’re in need of a lawyer (you have to pay for, of course). …. See, life’s hazardous, as it always was.
A dear friend of mine always tells me to insure my collection whenever he comes around. I always ask, “Why, and what for?”. – I rather save the money I would have spent on insurances to buy me a new Mithril-figure. That’s all there is. – In case that flash of lightning really hits me and my collection …. that’s all there is, as I just said.
December 23, 2010 at 1:26 pm #14140You are right regarding big disasters that may occur Master Ent. What is the point to get some money when what you love is definitly lost ?
Still what if any problem occurs because of a burglary ?
In this particular case, miniatures could come back on the market one day. I would be more than happy to be able to get it back with some police and/or insurance investigations.December 23, 2010 at 1:36 pm #14141Check your household insurance first – usually things not individually worth more than a certain sum are covered already. You may also find that the insurer isn’t prepared to insure collections for more than a specific sum, which is invariably less than what it would cost to replace it. So as Master Tree says, what’s the point? Except for important things such as cars and houses, insurance is rarely worth the money you pay for it, and it’s usually very hard to wring the cash out of an insurer even when you qualify.
December 23, 2010 at 2:43 pm #14142it’s just an update of my household insurance you know, I just declared thea approximate amount for the collection declaring it as a “collection worth more than XXX” thats just an option for the insurance… the collection itself is not insured it is as part of the household
and it is more against theft and burglary than natural disaster.. I don’t have the luck to live in a very “calm” district…. (to use an euphemism) … two days ago someone broke into my car and shattered things inside…. inside the “secured” residence… so … well…December 23, 2010 at 5:14 pm #14144Hmmm … as a Christmas Tree (nicely decorated by Nob by now … see, he’s not the one to haste things, as Master Barliman often confirms) … hruoomm … nice person he is, though …rhuoommm …. so could you, please concentrate on me Tree here, standing silently in a corner of our beloved Pony … rhuoommm … I just hope Nob doesn’t light all the candles he put on me branches ….. huoommm … anyway … it’ll be Christmas soon …. huoommmm … so the Tree starts to sing for you (and hopefully you will enjoy) ….. huoommm …. errrr …hmmm
“It was Christmas Eve, babe … ” … houmm … you know the lyrics, don’t you? … ahem …
Nice, wasn’t it? … anyway first time here you witnessed a singing Christmas Tree … huoommm..December 23, 2010 at 5:18 pm #14145hmmmmpfffrhumpf … no, Master Barliman, I gave away nor sound nor word … hmff …
wind in the Pony that makes me twigs move …. just a sound or so …. hummmfff, wasn’t meDecember 23, 2010 at 7:55 pm #14149Never mind, Master Tree, I’ll let you off – it is Yule, after all. However, who said you could leave the Taproom?
December 24, 2010 at 12:58 pm #14156Here, I see M83 for instance and many PA CH again.
January 2, 2011 at 6:31 pm #14279I am reselling the MIB M73 as the Japanese e-buyer could not pay in 2010.
He wrote he still wishes to buy it, so this is why my auction start at his previous winning price.
Of course, feel free to bid more!
It’s here:

January 2, 2011 at 8:17 pm #14281I opened an “Unpaid item case” on Ebay. The guy had 4 days to pay, then the auction was automatically cancelled. The problem is that the buyer answered too late, so I let him another chance hoping also for better bids.
January 2, 2011 at 8:59 pm #14282ahh ok I did not know how ebay system works on the seller side
never sold anything
January 2, 2011 at 11:19 pm #14285mmm, Master Milo, your Celebrimbor is now my objetive on Ebay
January 2, 2011 at 11:52 pm #14287But you can buy Celebrimbor directly at mithril!
January 3, 2011 at 8:19 am #14289This comes down to what we’ve been saying on MMP for a while – people just don’t realise that a lot of Mithril figures are still available direct from Mithril simply because they don’t know that Mithril is still in busiess! I’ve seen numerous inexpensive figures go for pretty high sums of money in consequence.
January 3, 2011 at 8:22 am #14290….er, though that shouldn’t apply here, since Master Elroi obviously knows Mithril is still around!
January 3, 2011 at 8:24 am #14291… and speaking of eBay, I’ve just noticed that another camel-dude has popped up:
