I will try on several ones, including the M16.Well, Milo… I try not to fight with you for M16, I know that you’ve wanted it for a long time
But I cannot tell the same about the others
Good hunting!!!
January 17, 2011 at 11:33 pm #14569. . . ? ? ? Not at all, Nikolai. Have a closer look. It is clear.
I surely will NOT take part in this. Good luck, I don´t NEED to take part in this.
So, Forest Warden: . . .January 18, 2011 at 8:59 am #14571if I had enough money I would bid on it but I doubt I have , besides…. I only miss a genuine sword… besides, there is no guarantee that the sword provided in this auction is genuine too…
January 18, 2011 at 4:24 pm #14580I just had a closer look at the pic of the M16. – Right, Gildor, one cannot be sure about the sword as it isn’t shown clearly in that pic. A different camera-angle would be helpful here. Obviously the sword has been assembled to the hand of the figure, as in the original casting it was connected to the base on the left. The sprew attaching the sword to the base might have been removed. This you cannot clearly see in that pic. The figure itself and the base seem to be original.
It would be easier to judge upon that sword if you could see the pommel and hilt-parts from the side.January 18, 2011 at 5:39 pm #14584Still master ent, a reproduction of the sword could exist …
but there are times for each of us to consider that “the best is the ennemy of good” (as we say in french) and I am happy enough with my M16 and its non-genuine sword until better days…
January 18, 2011 at 8:10 pm #14587Well, I dared to judge upon that as I once bought an original casting of the figure from The Man directly. Err, for some price of course, as it was an auction on Ebay many years ago. That one is still complete in it’s original state of casting. So this is why I can be sure about the way the figure once was casted. And that’s why I mentioned the sprew between base and sword.
Of course, as we all know, a recast of the sword might exist.
You can never be sure, maybe, unless you have an original of those old castings, before the mould broke, being confirmed by and bought from Chris directly. This to me is what a collector should take care about. Having proof of the origin and receipts to confirm. At least that’s what I think about collecting.
So, that was on Sunday, June 24, 2007, 00:19:19 MESZ when the very last of those figures was sold by phaeton-design for 277,56 GBP.
Ahhh, a long time ago that was, wasn’t it? But for me it was so much important that I could rely upon the seller and the origin of the figure. I could be sure not purchasing a fake.Hmm … I don’t know if I should have reveiled all these details right here, but I think it might help you understanding my craziness about Mithril-figures.
… if not, you shouldn’t have read this … 😆January 18, 2011 at 8:27 pm #14589i know of this m16 story master ent
you mentionned it several times too (I think pics are also provided about the mint M16 with te sprew-attached sword in the galleris
as well as I know my sword is not genuine but who knows one day I’ll be able to “afford” a genuine one… In the meantime I am more interested in finding figurines I don’t have at all than about the authenticity of the M16 sword…. (still, it seems that finding a M16 genuine sword may be FAR EASIER than finding figurines I miss
)
January 18, 2011 at 8:50 pm #14591totally agree with you, Gildor… When I get the minis I don’t have, I’ll start to worry for genuines swords or shields
. But in my case, I am resigned to never obtain some of the hard minis. You know, life in couple has its priorities!
January 18, 2011 at 9:07 pm #14592The trees have good memories and love the beautiful things of nature…. but sometimes, they love above all the beautiful creations of The Man……
January 18, 2011 at 9:25 pm #14593…. lot’s of nice words here about the lady M16…. And about sword – genuine or not it is only small piece of metal very hard to be sure which of those on auctions no eBay have genuine sword… with exception of yours auction master Tree – for sure… but in this case important is that this was figure sold by CT…. even if he was confirmed that this figure is no more exist in his arms and that the module is destroyed back in 1988 ( because of problems with leg….. )…. so than 2007 figure is here… again… the module was probably deposited as security for the future and if some of us wants to be sure that our M16 was from CT than we must wait a next opportunity, of course, if ever be…. you are lucky, deservedly lucky Tree, dear friend Master Ent…
but I will not bid only because of sword… I can not afford this luxury in this moment…
January 19, 2011 at 12:14 am #14599You want o hear un-nice words of the lady M16?
Here there are . . . I and had never understood and I will never . . .
I don´ t like that figure at all . . .January 19, 2011 at 8:22 am #14601Theobald wrote:So, that was on Sunday, June 24, 2007, 00:19:19 MESZ when the very last of those figures was sold by phaeton-design for 277,56 GBP.Well, again, there seems to be a certain abundance of the term “very last” in certain Mithril auction contexts. I have witnessed at least another (very fresh-looking) M16 sold by the Man (140421434649 — Mithril M16 Female ranger –04. Jul. 2010 18:01:42 MESZ — £290,00). This 2010 auction did not mention “last”, so perhaps (!) there will be more.
January 19, 2011 at 8:54 am #14603As I told about M16
But in meantime for all Rohan lovers…. there is great auction with lot figures, many of them already converted and very nice painted… 40 GBP first price….
January 19, 2011 at 3:09 pm #14610Not a bad set at all Master Sam. Not to bad painted either. I’m sure the price will be a lot more then 40 Pound when the auction is finished…:rolleyes:
January 25, 2011 at 9:36 am #14695Well M16 has already reached 166,41EUR. This is far too much for me. I give up this one.
January 25, 2011 at 9:47 am #14697It’s getting really really mad this one… Hope you get it next time, Milo
January 25, 2011 at 9:57 am #14698Sold for 256,28 EUR ouch….
January 25, 2011 at 9:59 am #14699Very ouch indeed!
January 25, 2011 at 10:05 am #14700Great pain. Definitely I’ll never get this one.
January 25, 2011 at 11:20 am #14704it will be hard to find a M16 at a lower price than that… on ebay … outside ebay it would not reach such prices providing you know the person well, and that the person does not know mithril well (or MMP
)
