Has anyone bid on this? I’m the first bidder, but I don’t want it that badly. It’s a rather nice little collection.

February 10, 2009 at 12:41 am #4327I’m somewhat tempted by the M5. Been trying to get one for ages now.
February 10, 2009 at 10:54 am #4329That is the same I’m after. Well, not the complete M5, because I have the sword already.
February 10, 2009 at 11:05 am #4331Oh, I try to keep the M3 within Australia.
I bid on it and maybe someone could tell me how my username shows up on ebay.February 10, 2009 at 12:49 pm #4332Hsf62, your bidder-name reads:
n***o
then in brackets there’s mentioned (564 + a purple star)
Why do you want to know?February 10, 2009 at 10:55 pm #4340Item number: 300292267118
Early Witch King is up.
February 11, 2009 at 12:32 am #4342. . .concerning Wendy´s post. That pic of the which king is the best I have ever seen. Well, it is the first I have ever seen generally
(on these official mithril pics you can see less than nothing . . . !)
Once more: the enormous quality of the early figures, fantastic. (look at this mace . . . )
That´s the same with the M1 and the M2. I often thought they seem to be a little bit lala la.
A year ago I had a really fair occasion on german-ebay and when I look to these figures directly on my workbench, I was a kind of spellbound. Magnificent details !
Wow, that Which King really impresses me much, that´s the reason I tell you all this.February 11, 2009 at 12:33 am #4343Hey Holger, good to know that the australian fires didn´t reach you . . .
February 11, 2009 at 1:42 am #4344No, the fires are about 2000km away. We are up here on the Gold Coast are only burning our meat on the BBQ. 😆
Thanks Master tree, I just wanted to know if the short form on ebay has anything to do with the real username. Well, it does not. Lordlanto is my username and it doesn’t start with a n!
February 11, 2009 at 7:28 am #4345There’s another M16 up on eBay –
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260360050492&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123
I’s painted, but intact. Starting price is £75…
February 11, 2009 at 10:02 am #4347The same seller sold another M16 last year. I remember that it was without a sword and asked in the Mithril´s forum questions about the figure. If my memory serves me correctly …..
February 11, 2009 at 11:32 am #4350Master Erachamion you are exactly right. He sold a M16 without sword and the one on ebay is the one he took out of a diorama which was posted on the GF. It seems he doesn’t like the M16, or he likes the money more…
February 11, 2009 at 11:49 am #4352I’m gueesing it’ll be the money since £75 is a high start price.
February 11, 2009 at 12:30 pm #4353Yes, it is a shame, some people set higher value in money instead of beauty!
Beauty fades!?
Well, I haven’t seen the beauty of any of the Mithrils fading!February 11, 2009 at 3:22 pm #4356hsf62 wrote:Master Erachamion you are exactly right. :This is not a small revenge for calling Holder huh, Holger? 😆
The truth is that business ethics can´t understand those who love the collecting ethics

March 25, 2009 at 5:04 pm #4653Huoooommmmm … well … I would suggest to be careful in case you are about to bid for the Lady on Ebay at the moment … if I were to do that there would arise some questions for me about the figure. Let me explain, please, as I just compared the pics of the figure on Ebay with the Lady I bought from The Man directly some time ago (here I used a magnifying glass).
First of all the sword at the base is correctly attached. All details are correct.
Why I write about this is:
As the photograph is well taken, why are there no stitches to be seen on either side of the patch of the mantle? The mail on her right breast as under the two belts doesn’t seem to meet the details of the original. Also the delicate face appears to be a bit “wishy-washy” as do those parts I just referred to.
I do not want to mistrust the bidder at all … but, as I said, I would have questions to ask [e.g. providing a pic of the ‘subreference’; when he bought the figure;etc]. Of course all that “slimy” parts in the pic might just be caused by unprecise photography and lighting it out.
All in all, seems to be original … but I would ask the seller on Ebay directly about certain matters (e.g. How many stitches around the patch? – Where are none?) … rhuooommmm..March 25, 2009 at 10:52 pm #4656Very close look, Master Tree. Unfortunately I have NO exemple to compare . . .
What is the thing to me that makes me hasitating is the following sentence:
” It breaks my heart to sell this item but the recession has brought some desperate economic times to my household and I need the money.”
Poor Americans ! God save Master Obama. Sorry I have to go for getting a new pack of hankies . . .March 26, 2009 at 11:03 am #4657Well, I guess it is very sad if some collectors must, have to, or want use Mithril as their last reserve when the times are getting bad, sad, or whatever.
March 26, 2009 at 12:35 pm #4658Well master theobald you may be right but there is one thing that must be added when someone looks at the picture :
this is not a photography…This is a scanned image of a 3D figurine, taken with a flatbed scanner or worse a photocopy machine… When I did not have a good material i used to do the same myself and the result is very poor quality and there are some numeric filters applied to the result of the scan that are meant for 2D flat papers and not at all for 3D stuff…
Besides a Scanner sends light on the glass surface before capturing the image and this light is the reason of those very odd shadows because of the depths of the figurine and the fact the scanner cover is not matching the glass panel, and the filters applied to blur and smooth the images are there too.It “may” be a genuine figurine… but the picture is alas of very poor and unreliable quality. Besides I think I saw this Elmo nickname in the past already among the mithril collectors and buyers on ebay…
