For those among us who remember… I managed to find this, while tracking ghost sites :
http://web.archive.org/web/20070813224728/http://mmp.perilousrealm.com:80/
“souvenirs… souvenirs…” alas , only the front page still exists, the content… and most of all, the member list… some are accessible, but not many… but it’s interesting to browse to this old site again… i feel nostalgic
some of the original variants and unique pages :
http://web.archive.org/web/20070518184257/http://mmp.perilousrealm.com:80/reference/uniques.phpthe time machine leaflets of mw336 and 337 rebranded with the reference matching between mithril referencing and time machine referencing (this pdf could be useful to grab!!! )

November 25, 2017 at 10:56 pm #36675Oh my God, I still do remember those times well enough with good old Mithrandir’s MMP-page and the problem about finding out the available figures of the “Saruman’s Army” warband. Yes, Henk helped a lot in those days. – I can also see a link to the “Frumgar-MX”. Alas, also that now is a long time ago.
The sheets of TimeMachine where Jim provided legal recasts of the two warbands (the orc warband even included the rarest orc with the raised spear). I do remember that the prices he asked for were lower than the original ones.
Alas, yes, indeed Gildor, all of these links cause some serious nostalgia with me.
On the other hand it proves that the tree always has been there.November 25, 2017 at 11:06 pm #36676Ahhh …. !!! … sorry to enter again, but I just realized that one still can scroll the two boards/windows of the old MMP – website.
It brought back a lot of memories to me. Yes, and a lot of names.November 26, 2017 at 12:53 am #36682there is actually quite a lot of things you can still do on this “ghost” site, only members list and forum and reference pages are gone but everything static is still there
well I was there with you back in the days my friend, after all, I’m a long lived elf too from Valinor, am I not ? but there are others too ddaines, barliman, axel, maenas, mornedhel, ori, gavin, hsf62, HalbaradII…. we’re all from those origins
I remember I joined the MMP community back when it was still but a yahoo mailing list and no website (and I STILL have all the mails from that period) we are all the memory of this great community. This was during the discussions for the MX Frumgar project that Matt “calboy” Bates had forwarded to Michael O’Brien… back in march 2005, I actually was against the idea of a grouped MX originally , I still havet the mails from March 19, 2005 We were not getting along very well with calboy… I must admit I was not very kind either back in those days…
but well, when I joined and was but a “rookie”, you were already there master ENT , back to the days Yavanna gave life to you alas I don’t have any email from you prior to 2008, we were discussing on the MMP old board but all those messages are lost now… it was not until I wrote personnaly to you to ask you what you’d think about me taking back the management of MMP after Marc disappearence that we exchanged mails.
I actually found old emails back from 2002 between Ricardo ‘Ori’ Fernandez and myself , and Michael “Presto247365” Keyerleber., or Lothar “gilgaladtolkien” Nielsen.. who actually helped me complete my collection back in the days I was FAAAR from having finished it that was way before MMP. A lot of mails from Dietmar Friecke if any of you knew him?
November 26, 2017 at 1:00 am #36683I wish I could build up a list of all (re)known hardcore mithril veterans… hopefully my work on database suggestion will help… It happens that this community has a lot of long time veterans who are still around there and the majority are all on the current MMP, which is great… I wish we could gather all those we lost along the road…to find their way back “home” again…
November 26, 2017 at 1:08 am #36684Alas, I may only be Atani and came much later then many of you but I hope my presence helps fill some of the void created by those from long ago who may now reside in the Halls of Mandos (figuratively speaking of course ).
November 26, 2017 at 11:23 am #36689It is great to see how was before… do you know what has happend with all those HARD CORE Mithrill collectors…
I also think any of us who collect mithril are hard core collectors… since almost nobody anymore is collecting those figures…
As proof to this statement you can see on mithril web site. Today is less than 30 people arrond the “globe”who still buys figures in first few months after release date… and factory cannot sell more than 100 figures…
November 26, 2017 at 11:33 am #36690one must not forget that Mithril is not spending a single dime in promotion, or advertisement… so indeed this is a closed market among collectors only… the fact that Silm rights could open (one can dream…) could change things up ASSUMING mithril communicates about that and seizes the opportunity to relaunch their sales but I doubt they will…
Many past collectors have ceased getting interested in mithril because they don’t know it still exists and if they do they are not happy at all with the “format” (suggestions only, no “ranges”, nothing in shops)
this is paradoxal because almost all figurine collectors (not necessarily mithril ones) know about Mithril , even today… it is a reference of quality and excellence… but they speak of it “in the past tense” as it is long gone by now… This explains why prices are still very high on ebay… for old figurines…
figurine market has drastically declined over the years, as RPG (with figs) and even wargaming boardgames are not what “modern geeks” are looking after…. Computers have happened, and thus, this figurines hobby altogether is decreasing and has become elitistic
November 27, 2017 at 9:05 am #36691Very nice pages, indeed! I din’t know them, because I’m a later member of this nice community. But it’s great read this pages.
November 27, 2017 at 9:09 am #36692About that, I hope that with Amazon Prime series, could be a chance to get some nice expanded Tolkien universe minis (fingers crossed).
November 27, 2017 at 1:10 pm #36696Although I haven’t been very active and closer to the typical type that comes and goes*, I am here till the times of MMP and Perilous realms… just the sight of that magical drawing an the blue colours bring me back the scent of those times. Thank you for sharing Gildor!
This was many many years ago when I was almost starting to step into mithril a little bit more and discovered that page through the quirky internet connection that I was only able to get at the public library. (paying some money for 30 mins. sessions)
All I can remember from those days is that Wendy and Mithrandir were quite active till they disappeared suddenly one after the other… and that our beloved Ent Theobald, Master Barliman and his broom servant Nob and also the man in the dark were already there when I started visiting the pony. ^^
*: You all can prove this by my scarce 370 posts!
November 27, 2017 at 3:08 pm #36698Uh, i was there back at that time? uh, master Barliman I was? well maybe I was… can’t remember
What I seem to remember is that the “man in the dark” was “the man in the corner” back then…
I know him, always smoking his pipe in a cloud of smoke…
November 28, 2017 at 6:44 am #36700You are forgetting me, Gildor. I was on old MMP way back to first MX. And I was an investor with Master Ent, Master Caster, and two others (Herbert and Mike?) in the Frumgar MX.
And yes, Master Barkeep, I was the Man in the Dark Corner back then. I suppose there are some who just think I’m “In the Dark.”
And don’t forget the mug of ale to go with my smoke, good Sir! But this seems like banter that should be taking place in the Pony, not these damp shadowy vaults here in Angrenost!!
November 28, 2017 at 9:48 am #36705i am not forgetting you at all dear “man in the corner” I just quoted you above… well Nob quoted you . it’s true I did not put you in my former list , shame on me.
I also remember the investors, as I was in the mailing list too back in 2005 and we were all discussing it, with Wendy, Marc, Holger, Mike too I think
